Yesterday afternoon Brad Pitt took his daughter Zahara Marley to the American Girl Place doll shop at the outdoor shopping center The Grove here in LA yesterday and managed to create quite a ruckus by just their very presence. Here are photos of Brad and Zahara as they tried to make their way out of the shop yesterday:

As you can see, Zahara looks less than impressed by the throngs of people trying to get a peek at her shopping excursion with her daddy. I guess while Shiloh Nouvel is off playing swords with her brothers, Zahara is more interested in playing with creepy dolls from American Girl Place.

Angelina Jolie and her eldest daughters Zahara Marley & Shiloh Nouvel were spotted making their way thru an airport in Budapest lookin’ about as adorable as ever … especially Shiloh Nouvel who was carrying a questionably suitable-for-airline-travel wooden toy sword. I just love this adorable little girl:

She’s clearly determined to explore her tomboy side to its full potential. So when Angelina Jolie told daughter Shiloh she could pick a toy at Budapest airport before boarding a flight to Los Angeles, the four-year-old opted for a long wooden sword. And while her five-year-old adopted sister Zahara was happy to let her choice of toys be taken on the aeroplane as luggage, Shiloh insisted on carrying her new prop on the aircraft with her. Shiloh, who has been described by her parents as having ‘montenegro style’, wore her favourite chunky biker boots, grey shorts, a grey T-shirt and navy blue hoodie. She also teamed her tomboy look with her favourite green striped Yo Gabba Gabba backpack – featuring the character of Brobee from the Nickeledeon cartoon of the same name … Angelina has been in Hungary with Shiloh and Zahara scouting locations for her new film set during the Bosnian war between 1992 and 1995.

Shiloh is just the cutest ever … I absolutely love her style, I love her adventurous spirit and I love that she is able to express herself to be who she wants to be. I was quite fond of my glow-in-the-dark He-man Power Sword when I was little … but I also had a short fascination with a twirling baton. Kids are kids and toys are toys. Shiloh Nouvel is my hero!

Angelina Jolie and her eldest daughters, Zahara Marley and Shiloh Nouvel, have made their way to SoCal and were spotted making their grand arrival at LAX Airport this week … and as you can see in the following photos, little Miss Shiloh Nouvel was wearing her best combat boots for the occasion:

At the tender age of four, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has very definite ideas about her wardrobe. And yesterday, the tomboy was spotted stomping through LAX in chunky ‘bovver boots’ with her mother Angelina, 35, and sister Zahara, five. The little jet-setter was dressed in grey shorts and a polo shirt and was carrying a green backpack. Angelina recently said her daughter has ‘Montenegro style’, leaving fashion observers a little flummoxed by the obscure description. The actress added: ‘She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.’ Shiloh is something of a bright spark, according to her grandfather Jon Voight. The veteran actor says: ‘All the kids are smart, I tell you. They’re beautiful children. Shiloh – boy, she’s a smart one.’ Angelina recently returned from a trip to Pakistan as part of her work as a US Goodwill Ambassador. She says all her children – including Maddox, eight, Pax, six, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – are aware of her philanthropic efforts. ‘I tell my children why I’m going and I explain to them, why I was packing flashlights and food,’ she says. ‘They help me pack things. It helps them to be better people to understand a little bit about the world.’

I just love the Brangelina kids … not only are they smart and philanthropic but they are also stylish as hell. There were quite a few rockers on the red carpet at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards last Sunday that were wearing these kinds of boots, unlaced and untied. I’m not at all surprised that little style maven Shiloh is rockin’ the same look as well. Again, kudos to Angelina and babydaddy Brad Pitt for allowing their young children to express themselves in their style of dress. Just like Gwen Stefani lets her sons express themselves stylistically, it’s nice to see that Brangelina continue to foster the expression of their children as well. Dang, it looks like I need to dig out my combat boots so that I can get on trend as well. Thanks, Shiloh!

Angelina Jolie told Vanity Fair last month that her daughter “wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.” Jolie, 35, said her daughter’s fashion is “fascinating” and described it as “Montenegro style.”

So many people like to make a fuss about Shiloh‘s love of boys’ clothes but I think she looks adorable and, most importantly, she looks happy. I personally think it’s completely normal for little children to dress however they please … countless little boys like to play dress-up with their sisters as do countless little girls like to play dress-up with their brothers. I think it’s really fantastic that Brangelina are so willing to let their children express themselves in their dress and, presumably, toys. It’s perfectly acceptable for boys to play with dolls (and it is accepted by all that boys play with “action figures” which are boy dolls) and for girls to play with cars, trucks, swords and other “traditionally male” toys. It really looks like the Jolie-Pitt children are being raised in such a way that they can happily express who they are in their dress and play … which will, I believe, help them to grow up as well-adjusted and open-minded adults. Shiloh looks adorable no matter what she wears … I’m just happy to see her looking so happy herself :)

Angelina Jolie‘s new spy-action-thriller film Salt opened here in the US this weekend but Ange herself was not here to see it in theaters. She made her way to Moscow, Russia to attend the Russian premiere of the film with a few hundred Moscow fans. Here are a few photos of Angelina Jolie, in a stunning red dress, on the red carpet of last night’s Russian premiere of Salt:

Clad in a floor-length Versace gown she described as “Russian Red,” Jolie blew kisses to thousands of fans who came to watch her play a suspected Russian double agent in the blockbuster, which opened at No. 2 in the U.S. at $36.5 million (23.5 million pounds). “I think this film is positive for modern Russia,” a broadly smiling Jolie told Reuters television at her first ever premiere in Moscow. Earlier, she took four of her six children to see the gold onion domes and iconic red walls of the Kremlin. “As much as there are bad guys that are Russian, there are also heroes that are Russian in this film,” she said as her diamond stud earrings sparkled in the sunshine of Moscow’s record-setting heatwave. The film, which evokes Cold War suspicions, enjoyed a stroke of luck with its timing, coming shortly after 10 arrested Russian spies in the United States were swapped for four imprisoned Russians suspected of working for the West. Jolie has previously called the connection “bizarre,” but declined to comment on press rumours that she had invited glamorous redhead spy Anna Chapman to Sunday’s premiere … “It really makes me happy that we have returned to the theme of Russian spies in Hollywood films,” 23-year-old architect Alexander said after watching the film. On Sunday evening, the audience erupted into applause when Jolie’s eponymous character, CIA analyst Evelyn Salt, revealed her Russian identity on the big screen. The packed cinema also jubilantly howled when Jolie said “Good evening” in Russian ahead of unveiling the film. But her hours of Russian training, which she described as an “aggressive but soft and seductive” language, will be lost on Russian audiences as it was entirely dubbed for general release. Russian earnings of the film will not be known until it officially opens on July 29. “It just goes to show that Russians are the winners after all. I really thank Angelina for showing that,” film student Sasha, 19, told Reuters after the screening.

Some friends and I saw Salt last night and we all loved it entirely! The film is a lot of fun with a lot of surprises and, of course, Angelina Jolie kickin’ ass all over the place. I’ll have my full review up later but I can tell you right now, I loved it! It’s deffo a film that I heartily recommend.

Now, getting back on topic … while Angelina spent her weekend in Russia, she has already left the country to do Salt promo elsewhere in the world. Angelina and her four eldest children were photographed upon arrival in Narita, Japan this morning (which is actually tomorrow morning local time). Angelina Jolie, dubbed Angelina The Conqueror by Vanity Fair magazine, is featured in the new issue of the mag due out on newsstands this Wednesday. The interview, which was conducted in Venice, Italy where Ange has been filming a film with Johnny Depp called The Tourist, discusses issues ranging from rumored pregnancy (she’s not) to marriage (she won’t cuz she already feels like she is) to the prospect of co-starring with faux hubby Brad Pitt in a movie again (it’s possible but not likely they’d do Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2). Here is a sneak peek at Ange‘s upcoming VF magazine feature along with some excerpts from her interview:

“No, I’m not pregnant,” Angelina Jolie tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Rich Cohen, from the set of her movie in Venice, Italy. Perhaps in the future? “We’re not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time. They’re kids now, and can play together, but they’re going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don’t build a family so big that we don’t have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well.” Jolie says she and Brad Pitt also are not “against getting married,” but “it’s just like we already are. Children are clearly a commitment, a bigger commitment [than marriage]. It’s for life.” Despite her dedication to her work, she thinks she won’t do it much longer: “It’s not the most important thing in my life. Acting helped me as I was growing up. It helped me learn about myself, helped me travel, helped me understand life, express myself, all those wonderful things. So I’m very, very grateful, it’s a fun job. It’s a luxury. Look, I’m at work today in the middle of Venice. But I don’t think I’ll do it much longer.” Jolie says this reassessment is mostly due to her family: “Because I have a happy home….I got back from work last night, and everybody was playing music and dancing and I suddenly found myself dancing around with a bunch of little fun crazy people.” Jolie talks extensively about her children, explaining that “Mad’s a real intellectual, which I can take no credit for genetically. He’s great at school, great at history. He feels like he could be a writer or travel the world and learn about places and things. Zahara’s got an extraordinary voice and is just so elegant and well spoken. Shiloh’s hysterically funny, one of the goofiest, most playful people you’ll ever meet. Knox and Viv are classic boy and girl. She’s really female. And he’s really a little dude.” Jolie says that when she was growing up she was most like her daughter Shiloh: “Goofy and verbal, the early signs of a performer…. I used to get dressed up in costumes and jump around. But at some point, I got closed off, darker. I don’t remember anything happening. I think you just get hit with the realities of certain things in life, think too much, start to realize the world isn’t as you wished it would be, so you deepen. Then, as I had kids and got older—being goofy, lighter—it all came back.” And what does Angelina think of Brad’s strange, wispy beard? “I love Brad in every state.”

Wow … in just this short excerpt we’ve already learned so much from Angelina, stuff that she hasn’t really shared in the past few years. It’s really cool getting to hear about the kids in this intimate way. I suspect the full interview will reveal even more. Ange and the fam have made their way back home to SoCal so that daddy Brad can do some work here. Here are a few cute photos of the eldest Brangelina kids — the O.G.s, if you will — enjoying a fun ice cream date in Venice, Italy with their grandparents earlier this week. While the littlest Brangelina twins were off with mummy and daddy, Maddox Chivan, Zahara Marley, Pax Thien and Shiloh Nouvel stepped out with their grandparents for some fun in the sun:

It’s kinda crazy how big the kids look in these photos. Without full-size adults to compare them to, all four of these little kids look like big kids. In no time at all, I know these young’ns are gonna be runnin’ the show wherever they go. I can’t even wrap my head around a future where these kids as young adults are showing up at parties and events together. Zahara and Shiloh look like little ladies already (well, Zahara more than Shiloh, actually) and I can’t get over how big Maddox is. It’s cute to see them lookin’ so happy over something as simple as a trip to the ice cream stand but, just wait, in no time these little kids will be young adults runnin’ things. I’m telling you, it won’t be long.

Earlier today we learned that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made their way to Sarajevo, Bosnia but they did manage to spend their Easter in Venice, Italy where the family rented out the island of San Servolo so that they could enjoy Easter together as:

For many families, an egg hunt in the garden is a traditional way to celebrate Easter. It was no different for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt – except that their celebration involved renting an entire island. The A-list couple took their six children to the Venetian island of San Servolo for a day of Easter activities on Sunday. After catching a waterboat to the island, in the Venetian Lagoon, the family set up a picnic on the lawns and soaked up the Italian sun. Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 3 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 20 months, were amused by a hunt for eggs, carefully hidden by their bodyguards, and a game of football. As they disembarked Angelina was spotted carrying an Easter egg basket while baby Vivienne, bundled up in a black jacket and grey beanie, held a miniature version. After the family day out the couple then left their brood behind and travelled to Bosnia as part of Angelina’s role as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. They planned to visit refugees and tour homes that have not yet been rebuilt, despite war in the region ending 15 years ago. The expedition came as 34-year-old Angelina took a break from filming The Tourist, in which she co-stars with Johnny Depp, in Venice.

I’m not sure how Angelina Jolie finds the time to be a mother AND make a movie AND be a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador AND find time to breathe all at the same time … but she seems to be able to handle everything OK. I guess when you’re a real life superhero, stuff like this comes easy. I hope the kiddies had themselves a nice holiday yesterday … having run of an entire island sounds fun, don’t it?

On Saturday we learned of a report from the LA Times that claims Angelina Jolie is being considered to star as Maleficent in the upcoming Tim Burton live-action film adaptation of Disney‘s Sleeping Beauty … but today, we get to see a photo of Ange in her role as plain ol’ mom. Don’t you just love how little Miss Shiloh Nouvel is so expressive in her dress? I love that she always stands out from the rest of her siblings … I guess in a big family like this, kids gotta do what they gotta do to get noticed. I know we can’t see it very well, but Zahara Marley‘s little outfit looks fierce … at least from the back. Pax Thien is prolly wearing whatever he could find on the floor. I just love this family … it’s always fun to check in on them to see what’s going on.

Time for our semi-daily check-in with the Brangelina brood as they continue to pop up all over Venice, Italy — their temporary new home. When last we saw daddy Brad Pitt and mummy Angelina Jolie with some of their kids, they were taking a small contingent to a kiddie birthday party. Today, see that they took their 4 eldest children — Maddox Chivan, Zahara Marley, Pax Thien and Shiloh Nouvel — out for a stroll on the streets of Venice this past Sunday:

Boo. The littlest Jolie-Pitts were left at home but my theory holds … Brangelina prefers not to bring out all of their kiddies all at the same time. We did see the entire Brangelina brood out and about together when they first arrived in Venice but since then, the kids have been broken up into different configurations on their various outings. This has to be the most we’ve seen of the family out in public, like, ever. I’m guessing we’ll continue to keep good track of them for many more weeks to come.
