The Longest Day Of The Year

Happy Solstice, y’all! I hope you make time today to get out and enjoy the sunshine today cuz it’s the most sunshine you’re gonna get all year long … well, at least in this hemisphere. It’s also been one week since this new version of Pink is the new Blog launched and, I gotta say, things have transitioned over smoothly. I’m getting into the swing of Word Press and I think the site looks better than ever. It’s a relief being on this side of the transition, let me tell you :)

Last night, Steph and I decided to catch a movie at the last minute (Alek was bizzy hanging out with Janice Dickinson at some fashion show thing) so we went out to see You Don’t Mess with the Zohan:

To be honest, we weren’t expecting much from the movie (even Sarah and Mark suggested I skip seeing this flick) but we were in the mood to laugh (and for popcorn) so we took a chance. I gotta say, Zohan was a pretty fun time at the movies. Honestly, it’s dumb as hell … but there were enough funny parts to keep it interesting. If you can believe it, there’s also a nice moral of the story to walk away with at the end as well. I knew to look out for the Charlotte Raye (from The Facts of Life) cameo but I didn’t know that Mariah Carey, George Takei and Dave Matthews were also in the movie. See, their parts were just dumb … but it was dumb fun so I didn’t mind. I think the hilarity came from the fact that the movie was written by Adam Sandler, Robert Smigel and Judd Apatow. Is it worth checking out? Yes. Will you miss out if you don’t see it … not really. It’s one of those movies that is fun while you’re watching it and then you immediately lose interest once you leave the theater. I’m interested to see if The Love Guru will be as funny … or as dismissible.

I’m not sure what’s on tap for today … I need to soak up some sun, that’s for sure … make sure you get out and enjoy the longest day of the year, y’all. Staring tomorrow, the days begin to get shorter.
