No joke! The full film leaks online a full month early
‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Leaks To The Internets

Happy April Fool’s, y’all!!! Today might be a good day to be wary of any promises of the “too good to be true” … like, say, if you get a URL emailed to you that says CLICK HERE TO SEE THE NEW WOLVERINE MOVIE ONLINE. Except, I’m here to tell you that if you do get a message like that … it’s prolly no joke. A full-length workprint version of the entire X-Men Origins: Wolverine film somehow made its way to the Internets yesterday and began showing up on torrent download sites and on streaming webpages. At first, I too thought it was some sort of April Fool’s Joke mainly because these sorts of leaks never happen A.) this early and B.) almost in their entirety. But, it turns out that this is no joke … the movie is out there for anyone to watch if they know the right places to look:

Early Tuesday US time a near DVD-quality workprint of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” found its way onto the peer-to-peer torrenting networks – a full month before the film’s release. A film leaking online is nothing new, poor quality camcorded versions and/or only marginally better Telecine/Telesync transfers of most films usually hit the torrent networks within days of their US general release. Proper DVD rips and screeners for festival titles and/or Oscar contenders have also been leaking with more and more vigor of late. Yet outright workprint leaks are rare as they take place before public release of a film and so are often much easier to trace the source. Ang Lee’s 2003 effort “Hulk”, Eli Roth’s “Hostel Part II” and Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” reboot notably saw working prints of their films leaked a week or two before their theatrical releases. The leak of “Wolverine” though, a full month before its cinematic release, has understandably sent shockwaves around Hollywood and the online community. Even worse for the studio is the good quality of the transfer – what’s shown is essentially complete and in near-DVD quality with only a few unfinished effects shots pointing to its ‘work copy’ status according to comments left by those who’ve seen it. This print also has a 106 minute runtime, making it apparently about fifteen minutes shorter than the final cut which means it likely lacks some or all of the reshoot footage shot in January in Canada. The film is still not finished and receiving final post-production touches according to anonymous sources here in Sydney. Fox legal is understandably scrambling to shut copies down, a practice that studios have become surprisingly adept at. Yet while the studio may be able to stem much of the flow, once something like this is out there it never entirely goes away. With no real time codes or identifying traits, the big questions have arisen – who is responsible and how can something like this happen? The hunt has begun and with something this large there won’t just be lawsuits and prosecutions, but major changes and security crackdowns on the post-production process where the source of the leak seems to have come from … BTW, as of the time of this story’s publication, it’s certain that most leaks will be have been shut down by now while others will be under surveillance by various legal authorities. So if you’ve been reading this and getting an idea about looking for it, I’d advise against it.

What is hugely unfortunate about this is that not only does the film suffer from a leak like this but so does the fan. I understand that the version leaked yesterday is not the final product and is missing essential portions of the director’s final vision. Truth be told, I cannot fault anyone’s curiosity for wanting to see the movie as soon as possible but I think a true fan of the X-Men films would want to still see the film in theaters to see the final product whether or not they watch the leaked workprint. I’d be very curious to hear what those of you who couldn’t resist the temptation and decided to watch the film think about the film. Please, do not post links to sites that are hosting the movie but if you did see the film, you gotta let us know what you think. In any event, I know that I will have my butt in a theater seat come May 1 to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine when it opens officially. Leak or no leak, I gotta see the mostly nekkid Hugh Jackman on the big screen.

‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Releases Another Poster

X-Men Origins: Wolverine won’t be released in theaters for 2 months now but the promo machine for the flick is moving into high gear. After getting to see those three 1 minute promo ads for the film (HERE, HERE and HERE) and the last batch of promo photos (HERE), today we get to see the latest movie poster to be released for the X-Men prequel movie … check it out:

Generally, group promo shots like this tend to be a bit cheesy, and this poster is no exception, but sometimes you just have to put the whole gang in the same photo in order to give everyone a bit of face-time. Altho Wolverine is the star of the film, his cohorts have to get some poster love, too. It seems like FOREVER since the movie started production and we are almost in the home stretch for its release. While I don’t think the film will be a mega-huge blockbuster on The Dark Knight scale, I’m sure it’ll do very well when it opens in May. Honestly, tho, I’m tired of all the foreplay … I want to see the damn thing already!

‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Releases New Promo Images

The fansite XMenFilms.net has come upon 3 new promo images from the upcoming release X-Men Origins: Wolverine. As you can well expect, the photos which feature the insanely hawt Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine are very broody and very sexy:

I know that a lot of folks are very excited at the other X-Men who will be featured in this X-Men Origins film (like Gambit, Deadpool, Silver Fox) but I’m only really interested in Wolverine and his origin story. You could put Hugh Jackman on a 3+ hour boring ass awards show and I’d still tune in … oh wait, nevermind ;) After the jump, check out two more promo images of Hugh from X-Men Origins: Wolverine

‘Wolverine: Le Film’ Gets A New Movie Poster

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is scheduled to open here in the US on May 1 but folks in France will get to see the action film 2 days earlier when it opens in that country on April 29 … they will also get their very own version of the movie poster, behold:

MMMM … this poster is hot. Seriously, Hugh Jackman can make any article of clothing look sexy … even plain, white tank top t-shirts. But I digress … X-Men Origins: Wolverine also has it’s own French website at Wolverine-LeFilm.com complete with a French subtitled movie trailer. After the jump, check it out for yourself …

‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Releases Third 1-Min. Promo Vid

On Sunday night FOX aired the first X-Men Origins: Wolverine promo vid titled Outcasts and on Monday night they aired the second promo vid Brothers … last night, FOX aired the third and final 1-minute promo vid — this one titled Legends. In this third clip, all of the X-Men featured in the upcoming prequel get a little screentime … here are a few screencaps from this latest video:

Truth be told, this third clip is the least exciting for me. Altho we do get to see X-Men faves Gambit and Deadpool in action, there is less “story” in this video and more “slideshow”. Still, I am very excited to see the movie in its entirety when it opens in May. After the jump, check out the third 1-minute promo vid titled Legends in full …

‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Releases Second 1-Min. Promo Vid

The second of three 1-minute promo videos for the upcoming film X-Men Origins: Wolverine aired on FOX last night after the first one, titled Outcasts, aired on Sunday night. Here are a few screencaps from last night’s promo video titled Brothers:

In this video, we see how the relationship between James Logan (Wolverine) and his arch villain Victor Creed (Sabretooth) got started … as is usually the case in comic book lore, once best friends become bitter enemies and arch nemeses … as is the case for Wolverine and Sabretooth. After the jump, check out this second 1-minute promo vid for X-Men Origins: Wolverine in full, in case you missed watching it on TV last night …

‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Releases First 1-Min. Promo Vid

Last Friday we saw a few new promo images from the upcoming Hugh Jackman action film X-Men Origins: Wolverine which is due out this Spring and we also learned that FOX would be airing three 1-minute promo videos over three nights to tease the film’s release. The first 1-minute video, titled Outcasts, aired last night … here are a few screencaps:

This first clip shows a furry and mostly nekkid Wolverine about to undergo his first adamantium treatment and features flashback memories from childhood of the emergence of his mutant powers. I had my initial doubts that these 1-minute clips would be very exciting … and I was wrong. If this first clip is any indication, not only will the other two clips be just as exciting but the movie itself will ROCK! After the jump, check out the promo clip Outcasts in full in case you missed seeing it last night …

Wolverine, Sabretooth, Gambit -- Oh My!
‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Releases New Promo Photos

Here are a couple of new promo photos of X-Men member Wolverine taking on the villainous Sabretooth which have been released ahead of an upcoming commercial campaign that will show three different snippets from the new movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine over the course of three different nights on FOX TV. Check out these photos of Wolvie vs. Sabretooth and just Sabretooth/Victor Creed being his simple badass self:

[B]eginning Sunday, Feb. 15, viewers across the nation can witness the origins of one of the year’s most anticipated movies, when Twentieth Century Fox debuts an exclusive, three-part reveal of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the first chapter in the X-Men saga, on FOX. For this unprecedented promotional event – which is too big for one night – the studio has created three special 60-second spots that will air over the course of three nights on FOX. Together, with one spot leading into the next, the spots will form a narrative revealing the origins of Wolverine, and the epic revolution that pits him and other legends of the X-Men universe against powerful forces determined to eliminate them. The first spot will air Sunday, Feb. 15 during Family Guy (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT); the second on Monday, Feb. 16 during House (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT); and the third will air Tuesday, Feb. 17 during American Idol (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Following Tuesday’s broadcast of the final spot, all three reveals will be released on Yahoo!

This is brilliant marketing … capitalizing on the hype and generating buzz this early before the movie actually comes out is a pretty smart gamble. Reports of reshoots have got some hardcore fans worried and it appears that the movie studio is doing everything it can to combat those negative fears by putting out as much new content as they can, as soon as they can to try and stem the tide of the naysayers. On the one hand, they risk giving away too much … on the other hand, they really have a chance to get fanboys excited. And one sure way to get fans excited is to keep teasing with one of the most beloved X-Men of all time (one who has since remained absent from any of the X-Men movies) — Gambit/Remy Etienne LeBeau. After the jump, check out a new promo pic of Gambit in action …

‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Gets A Teaser Poster

Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine is lookin’ pretty serious in the new one sheet poster for his new movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine … which you can check out below:

Nice. It’s a pretty standard, no surprises poster … very Wolverine. I suspect the other posters of the other characters will look the same, individual to each X-Man. Do y’all like?
