Victoria Beckham and her eldest son Brooklyn Joseph made their way to Clay County in Kentucky for a 2-day visit to spend time with the impoverished children there. Vicki B. and Brooklyn spent much time with the kids in class but they also spent some time playing as well … here are a few photos:

Victoria Beckham spoke out about childhood poverty today after taking her eldest son to visit some of the poorest children in America. The former Spice Girl and 10-year-old Brooklyn engaged in a number of activities run by the Save the Children charity during a two-day trip to Clay County, in the state of Kentucky. Mrs Beckham said the visit had shown her the need for all children to have an equal start in life and helped her son learn about the responsibilities of his generation. The mother-of-three and Brooklyn took part in a number of programmes last week, including teaching football, reading to toddlers and providing literacy and nutrition tools to parents on home visits. At Manchester Elementary School, in Manchester, Kentucky, they participated in an after-school programme involving reading and healthy snacks and handed out Adidas shoes and backpacks. And during a visit to Big Creek Elementary School, in Oneida, the pair took part in a book bag exchange, where toddlers were given bags filled with books, and read one of their favourite stories, Duck In The Truck. Beckham also met school principals and teachers to try to understand the challenges they face and the support provided by Save the Children’s programmes. Clay County, in the south-east of Kentucky, is one of the poorest counties in America, with a childhood poverty rate of 47.8 per cent and an average household income of $19,728 (around £12,000). Beckham said: ‘What I saw in Clay County was the hope and promise inherent in every child. That’s why we have to make sure every single child has a fair and equal start in life. ‘Seeing Save the Children’s innovative programmes in action, I know that we can begin to reverse the childhood poverty crisis. ‘I’m pleased Brooklyn is learning that, by helping and joining other children, he can play a role in making his generation the greatest yet.’ Mark Shriver, managing director of Save the Children’s US programmes, who accompanied Beckham and Brooklyn on the visits, said: ‘By advocating a fair start for all children, Victoria is setting a powerful example for learning about and understanding the challenges confronting too many children in America today. ‘Instilling in Brooklyn the value of generational responsibility, she knows that a better sense of unity among children will make a future America and global community even greater.’ Mr Shriver continued: ‘These trips create invaluable awareness- building and advocacy. We look forward to continuing to work with Victoria to ensure that every child in America gets a fair start in life.’ Save The Children’s US programmes serve 50,000 in nearly 200 of America’s poorest and most remote communities.

I have to say, I am very impressed that Victoria and Brooklyn gave so generously of their time to shed light on the state of poverty in this country. I had no idea that Vicki B. was at all interested in such matters and I can really appreciate that she wanted to bring her son with her to lend a hand. Victoria Beckham was spotted tooling around SoCal in what looks to be a new ride (tho not as impressive as her old ride which leads me to believe this new car might be a loaner) but appeared to be naughtily applying make-up while she was behind the wheel … and you thought texting and driving was a no-no:

To be clear, it’s not entirely evident that VB is actually fiddling with her make-up while she’s in motion but one hopes that she was careful to keep both of her eyes on the road and out of the mirror while she was driving. I imagine it takes some bit of work to get her robotic/unhuman look down perfectly but it might be behoove her (and the other drivers on the road) if she took care of the make-up maintenance before she gets into the car ;) Just a thought.

Victoria Beckham, who we learned earlier today spent some time with her family at the LA Lakers game here in SoCal last night, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. In her coverstory interview, Vicki B. opens up about the anxiety she felt from the public’s expectations of her solo singing career, her new fashion line and more. To be honest, it’s one of the most candid interviews that I’ve ever read from VB. Here is our first look at her new HB magazine cover and some excerpts from her interview:

Victoria Beckham has revealed how she keeps her tiny figure in shape – she works out EVERY day. The fashion designer hits the gym seven days a week so that she doesn’t need airbrushing in magazine pictures. This may come as a surprise to some fans – photos of her posing for Armani with husband David Beckham were widely believed to have been enhanced. Victoria makes the admission about her intensive exercise regime while talking about her successful fashion line in fashion bible Harper’s Bazaar. ‘I didn’t want to rely on retouching,’ she said. ‘I wanted to look at those pictures in 20 years’ time and say, “Wow, look – after three kids – I didn’t look bad.”’ The hard work has undeniably had an impact on her figure. The toned and trim 35-year-old features over an extensive 16 pages of the December issue. Contrary to the expectations of some, Victoria’s designs have been acclaimed, but she reveals she was incredibly nervous when launching her range. ‘I felt beyond vulnerable,’ she said. ‘I’d never known nerves like it in my life. The night before, I got nodules in my throat. ‘I’d never felt such anxiety. I was very aware that people were expecting very short clothes, probably quite revealing, and I really went against that and showed the other side of me.’ Despite finding fame and fortune with the Spice Girls, Victoria also reveals that fashion is more suited to her personality than singing. ‘I just want to learn as much as I can,’ she said. ‘I was always pushed into the theatre and dance – it’s just taken me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do.’ And in a frank admission she dismisses her attempts at a solo career, which were panned by critics. ‘People never believed the solo singing career, and it wasn’t the real me – I was a little bit lost at the time. I don’t mind making mistakes. I just can’t live with anyone else’s mistakes. I’m a complete control freak. I’m not the easiest person to work with because I’m so passionate and being a working mum, it’s a balancing act.’ Photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, the special double-cover December issue sees Victoria wearing a range of outfits – from an Yves Saint Laurent leather bodysuit to her own figure-hugging silk gazar dress.

David and Victoria Beckham, along with their sons Romeo and Cruz, were spotted in prime court-side seats at the Los Angeles Lakers basketball game at the Staples Center last night rooting on their home team. It’s interesting that Vicki B. decided to tag along to last night’s game because she doesn’t usually accompany Becks to basketball games … which is why he sometimes gets into trubs for ogling the Laker Girls cheereleaders. With VB sitting right next to him last night, tho, Becks was on his best behavior:

David Beckham has become quite the fan of basketball since moving Stateside – but is he interested in the game or the scantily-clad cheerleaders? Posh Spice is taking no chances and made sure she was sat right next to David throughout an LA Lakers game yesterday. Victoria and David took sons Cruz and Romeo to the match, but all the boys seemed to be having much more fun than po-faced Posh. Posh, dressed in super-skinny black jeans, a black vest top and sky-scraper black and gold Christian Louboutin heels, looked thoroughly bored during the game. At one point, the basketball rolled off the court towards her but rather than picking it up and throwing it back to the players, Posh swept her feet up out of the way in horror! Cruz and Romeo seemed to be having a lot more fun – cheering the players on and getting absorbed in the spirit of the game. David also looked to be enjoying himself and didn’t appear to be distracted by the cheerleaders once. Whether that was because he’s learned his lesson or because Posh apparently kept an iron grip on his arm throughout most of the match is anyone’s guess.

LOL … atta girl … keepin’ an eye on Becks should be a joy not a chore ;) It’s nice to see the family all together again … not sure where the eldest Beckham boy, Brooklyn, was but methinks he decided to bail and hang with friends rather than hang out with his parents and kid brothers. I wonder if we’ll be able to see Les Beckhams and kids all dressed up for Hallowe’en? Any guesses on what they might dress up as?

Victoria Beckham was spotted at her home-away-from-home this weekend, LAX Airport, jetting off for her semi-daily cross-continental flight and Ms. Thang was lookin’ all kinds of fierce in a pair of super skinny pants from her dVb designer clothing line … behold:

Victoria Beckham tends to stick to what she knows in fashion – high heels, skin-tight dresses and skinny jeans. But her latest collection of clothing shows a slightly more adventurous side with zippered light-coloured leggings with bold black panels in unusual places. The singer-turned-designer strutted through Los Angeles airport yesterday wearing ribless cord leggings from her own clothing range. Always keen to show she is a dedicated follower of fashion, the mother-of-three wore the season’s key essentials – a tailored blazer with turned-back sleeves and the pale grey treggings from her Autumn-Winter 09/10 collection. As if the skin-tight trousers were not enough to show how slender her legs are, she has designed them with black panels between the thighs – which served to make them look even smaller. The black panels around the ankle also featured zip detail – common in her designs -to allow them to flare over her very high heels. She wore them with an almost-sheer T-shirt, bright pink nail varnish, a Hermes Birkin bag, the ever-present sunglasses and an assortment of bracelets … The former Spice Girl is said to maintain her skinny frame with a diet of blueberries and sashimi (raw seafood). Victoria’s only indulgence is a glass of wine every evening,’ says a source. ‘She thinks she’s the best ambassador for the clothes she designs – so she wants to be model thin.’ Her previous fads include seaweed shakes, edamame beans and the occasional cup cake.

Yes, the skin-tight almost-painted-on pants do make her legs look even skinner but, to be honest, the over all look is not bad at all. While I don’t really think that leather suits VB, I am a fan of the skinny pants on her … at least they’re not heinous-looking leggings ;) No word on where Vicki B. was jetting off to but didn’t hubby David Beckham just get back from a trip to the UK? It’s like Les Beckhams tag team caring for the kids … one parent is in and the other is out. Sounds hectic, don’t it?

Victoria Beckham, in the spirit of trying to mingle with the common folk, deigned to attend a school fair with her children this week and decided to show up wearing a very interesting outfit. Clearly VB was intending NOT to look like any of the other mother’s in attendance because she showed up wearing leather from head to toe. Adding insult to fashion injury, she also rocked a pair of THE most outrageous shoulder pads EVER:

With every day another photo opportunity, fashionista Victoria Beckham is never underdressed. But wearing an £11,500 all-leather outfit to her son’s school fair was a bit much, even for Victoria. With the other parents in T-shirts and shorts, she stood out in a £7,000 Balmain jacket, £1,000 studded leather trousers from DSquared, towering £500 Yves Saint Laurent heels and a £3,000 gold Rolex watch. Though bang on trend, her outfit was perhaps a little over the top. Let’s hope her three sons don’t mind standing out from their peers. Their 35-year-old mother never misses an opportunity to prove her fashion credentials … Bold shoulders have featured on catwalks across Europe this year and have been championed by celebrities such as the singer Rihanna. Fashion critics have been praising the garment which has the effect of making people look thinner because of the jutting shoulders and tiny waist. After decades at the back of the wardrobe, they are the height of fashion again. So naturally, Victoria Beckham is wearing them at every opportunity.

True, Vicki B. is right on fashion trend with these ridiculous shoulder pads … but I know I would DIE if my mother showed up at my school looking like this. Any one of her trademark dVb dresses would’ve been perfect for a school event like this … why she decided to dress like Adam Lambert, I’ll never know. Ah well … she’s just being Posh, I suppose.

Last April we learned that David Beckham, with the help of designer James Bond, would be “designing” a line of sportswear for the Adidas Originals by Orginals collection … last night was the official launch party for the line. Here are photos of Becks and wifey Victoria Beckham making their arrival on the red carpet for the launch event at the Adidas store on Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood, CA last night:

You gotta love that VB couldn’t be bothered with dressing down for the sporty event even tho her hubby was promoting his new line of sportswear. The least Posh could’ve done was to show up on the carpet in a pair of baggy sweats and an oversized hoodie. What a beyotch! In any event, you may recall that it is the intention of this new sportswear line designed by Becks and Bond to “update classic American sportswear with fashionable silhouettes and details” by utilizing materials such as “leather, cashmere and silk, while the footwear builds on iconic Adidas styles.” I’m still not convinced that this collaboration will work (cashmere track pants? leather hoodies?) but you can’t blame Adidas for wanting to get into bed … professionally, as it were … with David Beckham on this endeavor. Yeah, any notion of getting into bed with Becks under any circumstances sounds like a great idea to me. It remains to be seen what effect this new line of sportswear will have on the world of fashion but … there’s gotta be someone out there interested in this stuff. Are you?
