Lindsay Lohan, freshly sprung from her most recent bout of house arrest, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Italian Vanity Fair magazine. As I understand it, Lindsay was photographed just before she got sentenced to house arrest but her issue wasn’t released until now … very close to her recent birthday. Avril Lavigne plays dress-up in the new issue of Italian Vanity Fair magazine. For some reason, Avril was selected to be featured in the magazine so she thought it would be fun to put on her mother’s clothes, wear a poodle-inspired wig and pose for some photos.

Last year Madonna was the face of Louis Vuitton, next year she will be the face of Dolce & Gabbana and Italian Vanity Fair magazine is giving us our first look at the first photos from their Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign featuring her Madgesty herself … behold:

Madonna’s private life is seldom out of the papers but this new Dolce & Gabbana campaign is unlike anything you have seen before. Exit the paparazzo, these shots by Steven Klein reveal much more than a grainy stolen picture, they showcase an intimate, real aspect to the ultimate icon’s life. In keeping with Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection’s emphasis on Mediterranean heritage and classic Italian sensuality, the mood isn’t unlike a film from the days of Italian Neorealism. Madonna herself recalls the strong, raw sensuality of the iconic actress Anna Magnani – showcasing when soft sensuality meets bold authenticity. In the Vanity Fair Italy feature, Stefano Gabbana discusses the campaign and why Madonna was the perfect match: “She loved the collection,” he says, “…she is passionate and impressively knowledgeable about Italian cinema,” (Monica Vitti is her favourite actress and we see the resemblance).” When asked as to whether Madonna knows how to wash dishes, Stefano Gabbana replies “Certainly…she’s a very practical woman…” And does she actually eat spaghetti despite her most enviable figure? “Of course, says Stefano, and she can allow herself to with all the exercise she does!”

It’s a cute idea … Madonna draped in domesticity … but there doesn’t seem to be much oomph in these first photos. But still, considering how friendly Maddy is with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana it was only a matter of time before she signed on to appear as their spokesmodel. Robert Pattinson (remember him?) was recently featured on the cover of Italian Vanity Fair magazine and because it’s not a photo that I remember seeing before, I thought it would be nice to share it with all y’all:

In all honesty, I much prefer this coverphoto to the one that was published here in the US last month. I would imagine that this photo and the photos contained inside are from the same batch of photos that were shot for the US edition of VF mag … which weren’t too shabby, if I say so myself. Of all of R. Pattz‘s magazine covers, I think this might be one of his best. What do y’all think?

As I said earlier this week, People magazine absolutely got it right this year by bestowing the title of Sexiest Man Alive on Hugh — he is just … MMM … you know? New mommy Angelina Jolie, doing her best Mona Lisa impersonation, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Italian Vanity Fair magazine … check it out:

Yeah … I dunno … these pics are OK but they’re a little off — weird, even. I’m not sure what is going on but many of Angelina‘s recent magazine covers have been pretty … fugs. Her cover for US Vanity Fair wasn’t all that hot, nor was her cover for Entertainment Weekly. At least these photos for Italian Vanity Fair have a classic look to them … I like them best of the her worst pics. Again, I’m not a fan of the greasy-shine look … it just doesn’t work for me … am I wrong here?
