Tori Spelling and her hubby Dean McDermott were on hand at the Avalon hotel in Beverly Hills, CA on Thursday night to celebrate the success of her memoir sTORItelling. You may recall this memoir angered a few people in Hollywood — not the least of which was Tori‘s former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty who claimed that Tori outright lied in the tome about their BH, 90210 days — which lead to big sales at the cash register. So, natch, Tori is planning another book:

What’s life like for a new mom in 90210? Tori Spelling is ready to dish. The actress, 35, is reportedly planning a new book – tentatively titled Mommywood, which will focus on her life as a Hollywood princess-turned-parent, according to publishers Simon & Schuster. Spelling’s debut effort this year, sTORI Telling, spent seven weeks on The New York Times best-seller list – and included accounts of her ill-starred first wedding, her father Aaron’s death and the roller-coaster relationship with her mother, Candy. The new book, already listed on Amazon.com and scheduled to hit the shelves in April 2009, is expected to focus on the birth and growing pains of 1-year-old son Liam and newborn Stella.

I think it’s wise that Tori keeps the focus on her family and off the Hollywood folk themselves … to be honest, I contend that her book prolly had something to do with her getting axed from appearing on 90210. Think about it, producers were prolly desperate to get Shannen Doherty on the show after they already secured both Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling. Once Shannen started bargaining, I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned into a “me or her” scenario … Shannen got in, Tori got cut. Now, this is ALL conjecture on my part … but it makes sense. To think that the producers wouldn’t or couldn’t pay Tori Spelling as much as they are paying Shannen and Jennie is absurd. But … you never know. In any event, Tori seems pleased with her book success and I guess that’s all well and good for her … but I bet she’d much prefer the limelight that Shannen and Jennie are enjoying right now from their connection to the very hot 90210.

HMMMMMM … so Monday there was a lot of hubbub going around concerning the news that Tori Spelling decided to pull out of appearing on The CW‘s Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off show because, it was reported, she was not being paid as much as the other BH, 90210 alums Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were being paid. Then yesterday we heard from both Jennie and Shannen about the “controversy” — Jennie saying she was “bummed” that Tori pulled out, Shannen just happy anyone asked her for comment. AND NOW TODAY, we learn that Extra TV talked to Tori Spelling herself about all of this 90210 hoopla and she is making it seem as if her return to the show isn’t as dire as we were led to believe … she, apparently, still hopes to make an appearance on the show “later in the season”:

Even though Donna Martin aka Tori Spelling isn’t in the 90210 spin-off premiere, it’s still possible that she could return to West Beverly High School. Despite recent reports that Spelling is no longer in talks at this time to appear in the series, two weeks ago Spelling told “Extra” that, “I was supposed to be in the pilot and then I had Stella [daughter] when they went back into production so it didn’t work out, but I’m hoping [to return] later in the season.”

Waitaminute … depending on when this interview took place and when Tori decided to “pull out” of the show, it’s not entirely clear what is going on. It still feels to me that all of the off-screen drama is meant to generate further hype for the new 90210. Again, I maintain that Tori Spelling will eventually reprise her role as Donna Martin on the new show. My money says it’s gonna happen … some way, some how. Any takers?

After Deadline Hollywood posted a story online alleging that Tori Spelling is feeling unloved by the folks producing the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off (who are reportedly paying both Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth more money to appear on the show then they offered Tori), US Weekly is reporting that Tori Spelling has pulled out of appearing on 90210 altogether. HMMM … could someone be playing hardball in the hopes of securing more moolah?

Tori Spelling has changed her mind about returning to Beverly Hills, 90210 as Donna Martin. “At this time, there are no plans for Tori to appear in the 90210 spinoff,” her rep tells Usmagazine.com. (A rep for The CW told concurred: “The CW has no deal with Tori Spelling to appear on 90210 at this time.”) The confirmation comes after DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com reported Monday that Spelling, 35, pulled out after learning that co-stars Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were earning $35,000-$50,000 per episode compared to Spelling’s $10,000-$20,000 per episode salary. “She thought she deserved parity, and she’s got a point,” an insider told DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com

Now this is a risky move on Tori‘s part. On the one hand, I can understand why she wouldn’t want to work for less money than her roughly equal co-stars are getting but if she pushes too far then she won’t get anything. I’m very surprised that the producers of the show are so willing to discount Tori Spelling … of the ladies, she is the one main character of the show that stayed with BH, 90210 til the very end. It seems really shitty that they would treat her like this, especially when she was so loyal to the original show (both Shannen and Jennie left the show years before the series ended I stand corrected, apparently Jennie stayed on ’til the end as well … but it doesn’t change my point). It just doesn’t make sense to me … why would the show want to shoot itself in the foot before it even gets off the ground?

Here are a few pics from the Monkey-themed first birthday party that Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott threw for their first born child Liam Aaron a few weeks ago, which will be featured on the couple’s reality TV show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood premiering on Oxygen tonight at 10pm. Liam‘s party was attended by a few celebrity friends including Loni Anderson, Denise Richards, Carmen Electra and Zachary Quinto … check out the pics:

As you can see in the photos, the party took place before Tori gave birth to her second child Stella Doreen on June 10th but these pics from Liam‘s birthday party have never been seen before. Tori planned the fête herself and I understand that no expense was spared to ensure that the party was as phat as possible … hello, the monkey birthday cake is bigger than Liam is — and he’s a big boy! Now that we know that Tori Spelling will eventually be returning to 90210 as Donna Martin on the new CW TV show later on this Fall, my interest in her has been renewed. I’ve been hearing from a few Pink readers that Tori and Dean‘s show on Oxygen is pretty good (and you wouldn’t believe how big a Tori Spelling fan my friend Mike is) so I think I’ll be tuning in this season so see what’s up … if only to see how much of that ginormous cake gets eaten.

There’s been a lot of buzz going around this week surrounding the new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off TV series that is set to debut on The CW this Fall. Once the first rumblings started up that Shannen Doherty would be reprising her role as Brenda Walsh on the show things hit a fever pitch as excitement over the show took off. Then we got our first look at what the newly remodeled Peach Pit diner will look like and, well, it’s been a crazy week for fans of BH, 90210. We know that Tori Spelling will also be reprising her role as Donna Martin on the new 90210 but it was announced that her debut on the show would be pushed back into the season due to her recuperation period caused by the recent birth of her baby Stella. And so, let’s take a closer look at the little doll who may be effing with Tori‘s career plans but is still cute as a button in her very first OK! magazine photospread:

Almost one year to the day their son Liam was born, Tori Spelling and hubby Dean McDermott got the surprise of their lives when they discovered they were expecting baby number two! Even more exciting, the couple … found out they were having a little girl, something that Tori says she thought she would never experience. Now the couple is talking only to OK! with an exclusive interview about their joyful journey. “She’s a miracle,” Spelling tells OK!. “I was on one pill and wasn’t feeling well, so I went off of it. Two days later, the doctor put me on another, and on that one day, we conceived. It was meant to be!” As OK! exclusively reported, the couple welcomed daughter Stella Doreen into the world on June 9. The infant weighed in at a dainty 6 lbs. 11 oz. and had a full head of beautiful black hair. “My first thought was, ‘My god, she’s so beautiful,’” Tori gushes. “My second thought was, ‘Oh my god, she has black hair! Where did that come from?’ [laughs] Liam has blonde hair and is very fair. She was born with black hair, very tan.” Tori continues, “I never thought I’d have a daughter. Dean’s first child [Jack] is a boy and then we had Liam and I thought, ‘Because I’m so girly-girly, I’ll have all boys.’ ” Dean agrees, adding, “When I saw Stella for the first time, I just bawled my face off out of pure joy. I’ve always heard that there’s nothing like that bond between father and daughter. There is nothing like it — you feel it that moment. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Little boys are awesome. They’re just like a little you. But having a little girl is something else. As a man, you just lose it.”

AWWW … they do make a cute little family (tho, it’s interesting about that baby girl being born with dark hair … HMMM). While I’m not at all interested in any of the reality shows that Tori and Dean have got going on on Oxygen, I am very excited about Tori‘s return to 90210. I am very intrigued by what they are going to do with her character … will Brian Austin Green be reprising his role as David Silver, Donna Martin‘s main man? Of all of the BH, 90210 men, he’s the one I see most prolly making a return to the show (who knows if Luke Perry, Jason Priestley or Ian Ziering were even asked?). In any event, I hope that Tori enjoys her recuperation time with her newborn daughter Stella … and that she gets back to work soon, this 90210 thing is a priority!

And the news just keeps on getting better … yesterday, we heard the first amazing news that Shannen Doherty was “in talks” to reprise her role as Brenda Walsh on the upcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off show set to debut on The CW this Fall … and today, according to E!‘s Watch with Kristin, not only is Shannen totally on board to appear on the show but that Jennie Garth (who played Kelly Taylor on BH, 90210) may be on board to appear with Shannen on screen — together! You may recall that Jennie Garth has already officially signed on to appear on 90210 as the guidance counselor at West Beverly High. It was previously announced that Tori Spelling would be reprising her role as Donna Martin on 90210 but, because she *just* gave birth to her baby a few weeks ago, will have to delay her debut on the show a little further into the season (Tori is insistent that she will appear on the show, adamantly speaking to People magazine so that folks don’t count her out in all the hoopla about Shannen‘s return to the show). But still … all three ladies will eventually return to 90210!

If you’re a fan of the OG Peach Pit posse, you might want to sit down, ’cause sources connected to the CW’s new 90210 are spilling exclusive dish of OMG proportions. In a nutshell: Shannen Doherty is in, Tori Spelling is out and Jennie Garth may be—wait for it—reuniting with Shannen on the screen … After EW.com’s Michael Ausiello first reported the news that Shannen is in talks, a very reliable and very inside source who works on 90210 tells me exclusively that “It is happening with Shannen. It’s just a question of how long she’ll shoot, whether it will be one day or ten, and what the storyline will be, but we are working on it and it is a very real thing.” Inside sources also confirm exclusively that Tori will not be appear in the season premiere as planned because of personal reasons—like she just gave birth to a baby girl on June 9. The new mom had been signed on to do a few episodes at the beginning of the season, but she isn’t yet ready to return to work, so her appearance has been pushed to a later date. As for Shannen’s storyline, I’m told the details are still in the initial-concept stages, but the writers are hoping to get Shannen and Jennie together, onscreen, for a scene … Of course, the real question is, will they do it? “I don’t think there’s any love lost between Shannen and Jennie,” says one rock-solid inside source. “But they are both adults now and professionals, and I don’t see it being an issue. Everyone has their take on what happened back in the day, and I think the feeling is that it’s time to move on. They were 19 and 20 when all of that happened and a lot has changed. And, you know, they’re not moving in together, just shooting together for an hour and a half.” Another insider close to the negotiations points out: “I want to stress that Shannen has been very, very cool through this whole process. We have seen nothing like the behavior for which she was once famous for.”

As for Tori Spelling, well, she doesn’t want anyone to forget that altho she wasn’t the first of the ladies to have her name attached to 90210 she wants everyone to know that she did sign on BEFORE Shannen Doherty did and she’s TOTES coming back and we can just blame her new baby for causing the delay … don’t forget that:

It’s very exciting knowing that Kelly, Brenda and Donna will be appearing together again on the small screen. I am fairly certain that there won’t be the same drama between these ladies that existed all those years ago. Surely they’ve all grown up … surely they can let bygones be bygones. This is the best news for the new 90210 show. I’m totally amped for the show’s debut. It’s a terrible shame that Gabrielle Carteris is suffering from her recent injury otherwise I’m sure we’d be seeing Andrea Zuckerman on the new show as well. Even still, this is all very good news. Woot!

Stella Doreen McDermott was born at 3:13 p.m. in a Los Angeles hospital via C-section. She weighed 6 lbs., 8 oz. and was 19 3/4 inches long, a rep for Spelling says.Newborn Stella is the second child for Tori and hubby Dean McDermott (they already have a 1 year old son named Liam Aaron) … he has a child from a previous marriage.
