Sounds like the Spelling family had a very merry Christmas indeed. After years of estrangement and very public, often nasty sparring, Candy Spelling and daughter Tori spent Christmas 2009 together, ET reports — in Beverly Hills, naturally. Candy, 64, and Tori, 36, made the yuletide gay for a Dec. 25 meal at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Joining them? Tori’s husband Dean McDermott, their children Liam and Stella, McDermott’s son Jack, plus Tori’s brother Randy Spelling and his girlfriend. An eyewitness told ET that “several strangers stopped by their table to give the reunited family unit their well-wishes.” The once-feuding mother and daughter have been hinting of a reconciliation for the past month. “We’re together as a family, and that’s the most important thing,” Tori told E! News Dec. 17. “It’s just a blessing that [the reconciliation] happened around the holidays,” she said. “And it just makes me think, ‘Wow, it’s an amazing thing and it happened this year and it’s just the best gift we could get.’” Earlier in the month, Candy told UsMagazine.com of their patched-up relationship, “I’m so happy. That’s all I want to say about this topic — I’m happy.”

Well it’s about damn time these adult women stopped acting like children and started acting like mature grown-ups. It’s pointless to place blame on either Candy or Tori because they are both guilty of acting like idiots … what is important now is to focus on the fact that the ladies have reconciled and appear to be serious about making their relationship work. I wish the Spellings a Happy, Happy New Year filled with love for one another in the hopes that they can make up for all that lost time they spent feuding with one another. I’m certain that the late Aaron Spelling, wherever he may be in the ethos, is happy at this news of reconciliation.

It’s no Middle East peace treaty, but it looks like one of the world’s most heated feuds has finally come to an end. A source tells me exclusively that Tori Spelling and her mom, Candy, have quietly been repairing their once very fractured relationship. I’m told the two began talking again in September, when both were in the hospital. Tori was being treated for a stomach ailment, while Mama Spelling underwent back surgery. Things are going so well that Candy finally met Tori and hubby Dean McDermott’s 18-month-old daughter, Stella. She has also spent time with grandson Liam, 2, who she apparently hadn’t seen in over a year. Reps for both Spellings did not immediately comment. In April, Candy posted an open letter on her website expressing hope that she and the 90210 star could begin having a better relationship. She also said she’d like to start spending more time with her grandchildren. Candy declined Tori’s invite to Stella’s first birthday party in July because, the matriarch explained, she didn’t want to become a storyline in the Tori & Dean reality show. Not that Candy has anything against reality programming. She’ll be featured on E!’s very own upcoming Bank of Hollywood, a Ryan Seacrest-produced show premiering Dec. 14 in which everyday people will try to persuade a group of panelists, including Candy, to give them money to help them fulfill their dreams.

Thank the sweet baby Jebus! This feud between mother and daughter is THE dumbest thing ever … the bitter words that have been hurtled back and forth over the years were such a waste that I am happy to know that they seem to finally be over all the bullshizz. I truly hope that both Tori and Candy realize that life is too short for silly feuds like this. Let’s all send our best wishes to the Spelling women in the hopes that they will truly kiss and make up once and for all.

For all the reality show personalities, please remember that real life doesn’t get edited to make things better or worse or get better ratings. You’re responsible for what you do. Life isn’t just a show. And your families can’t just be props. Make your own season finale without creating conflicts you will regret later.

Um … Cue music. Cue sideways glaces. Clue Lights. Candy Spelling is a heinous beyotch. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s idiotic for Tori Spelling to try and still exploit her public feud with her mother in order to get higher ratings for her TV show (because, honestly, that’s exactly that she’s doing) but for a mother to continue to publicly abuse her child (both mentally and emotionally) that has to be the most disgusting thing ever. Clearly Tori is trying to embarrass her mother by showing how cold-hearted she is (by not attending her only granddaughter’s first birthday) but Candy is going out of the way to show EXACTLY what a cold-hearted beyotch she really is by not only attending but making such a public spectacle of the whole situation. This has to be the saddest thing ever. Some fault does lie with Tori Spelling but, in the end, Candy Spelling — in her old, wizened age — should be the grown-up here. After all, Tori is the product of Candy’s parenting … a job that Candy clearly was never, ever qualified for. At least poor Aaron Spelling isn’t alive to bear witness to these sad and seemingly on-going events.

I always thought it was really cool of her to gues on the show when she was enjoying so much success on BH, 90210. As soon as I saw the photos from the beach this week I knew she looked familiar. Everybody knows Candy and Tori Spelling had a beef, but now moms is taking the family feud to a whole new level of nasty. Appearing on a Massachusetts radio station Thursday to pimp her new book, Stories from Candyland, Candy Spelling not just bad-mouthed her 90210-starring spawn, but went so far as to blame husband Aaron Spelling’s demise on her estranged daughter. “My daughter one day decided that she wasn’t speaking to my husband, myself and my son and that’s how it’s continued for the last, oh gosh, four or five years,” Candy said to 94.7 WMAS-FM’s Kellogg Krew. “And it was sad, that’s what killed my husband actually. He just didn’t want to live after that. He has just done everything he could possibly do for his daughter and she wanted no part of him once he couldn’t do anything for her.” The über-producer died June 23, 2006, following a stroke; angst was not listed as the official cause of death. Candy says that while both women have paid lip service in interviews about reconnecting, there has been no such luck thus far. “I’ve always been trying to work on the relationship. I don’t know what the anger is.” Call it a hunch, but maybe it has something to do with the accusations of patricide. We’ve been trying to get reps for Tori and Candy on the horn, but so far nada.

This is about as low as low-blows go. It’s one thing to launch personal attacks on someone else (tho, it’s pretty sad when those attacked are leveled at your own flesh and blood) but to publicly blame your daughter for the death of her father is just … shitty. I used to think that Candy was a spitfire but this is just a really crappy thing to say about your daughter. Something tells me that a reconciliation between these two grown, adult women now has an even greater likelihood of never happening … ever. I do feel bad for Tori Spelling tho … it must be really terrible to hear these sorts of attacks coming from one’s own mother. The late Joan Crawford ain’t got nothing on the Mommie Dearestness of Candy Spelling.

Man … where to begin. The story is really superb. The film opens with an action sequence that really sets the pace of the film and clues you in that Abrams means business … he is intent on revamping the entire series into a new, modern version that remains true to the classic series while injecting enough excitement to make it all fresh again. There is action, there is humor and there are pretty fantastic acting performances that are sure to please pretty much everyone who sees the film. Each character gets to shine in this film and each one is infused with enough of their classic mannerisms and catch-phrases to appease the most ardent Trekkie in the audience. I will reveal that a warp core does get ejected somewhere along the way … it wouldn’t be a Star Trek movie if not.

Now, the one thing that I’m not sure that I like. AND THIS IS THE SPOILERY PART SO DON’T READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO REMAIN UNSPOILED! As we should all know by now, JJ Abrams loves to play with time travel … and time travel features heavily in this film. Without going into any details, I will say that a time shift alters the Star Trek timeline and the events of this film break off and head in a different direction than the timeline we know from the classic Star Trek series. This is why I don’t think the movie should be marketed as a prequel. History is changed and a new alternate timeline is created. To me, the movie is more of a sequel to all of the previous TV series and movies that we’ve already seen. That said, this new alternate timeline opens up WIDE the ability to create entirely new stories and wholly new adventures without having to worry about staying true to the original Trek timeline. Again, I’m not sure how I feel about this exactly. There are major changes in this film that drastically alter the Trek universe. I’ll be very interested to hear what others think about this after they see the film (so, please, feel free to email me when you see this film).

But, as I said, I absolutely loved the film overall. Zachary Quinto’s Spock is excellent and he is, IMHO, the star of the film. I was just so impressed … I’m dying to see the movie again already.

It was fabulous running into Kristin Cavallari … she mentioned that an announcement will be made soon about the future of The Hills :) I also got to meet and take a photo with Pink reader Nicky who was totally fun to chat with.

Much, much love goes out to my girl Charlie from Paramount for taking exceptionally amazing care of us last night. We had a blast and it’s all thanks to her! What a fun night … you gotta check out Star Trek when it opens next Friday May 8th. I’m dying to hear what y’all think of it already!!

Tori Spelling revealed a dramatically thinner look at the launch of her new book in Hollywood last night. But the actress who has lost even more weight since the birth of her baby last year appeared to be having trouble holding up the weighty tome. Tori arrived with husband Dean McDermott, son Liam, 2, and baby daughter Stella, 10 months. Dressed in an emerald green babydoll dress, the 35-year-old cut a rather sinewy figure compared to the healthier look she unveiled back in January when she unveiled her post-baby body. The mother of two, who gave birth to Stella in June, has returned to the programme that made her name, Beverly Hills 90210 playing Donna Martin, the same character she played on late father Aaron Spelling’s original TV show.

YES! In addition to the release of Tori’s second book, today is also the day that Tori returns as Donna Martin on tonight’s new episode of 90210. After many months of hemming and hawing (and unsuccessful attempts to work out a financial deal that satisfied everyone), Tori reprises the role that made her famous in tonight’s new ep. While I’m sure that many folks are excited to have a new book to read from Tori Spelling (like my friend Mike, who I’m sure has already ran out to buy his copy), I’m more excited about seeing Tori on 90210 tonight. Because David and I will be flying back to LA on JetBlue, we will be able to watch the show when it airs on The CW tonight. Woot!! Are any of y’all excited for this book or are you more amped about Donna Martin’s return to 90210?

Yesterday I posted a newslink to a new interview with Tori Spelling wherein she talks about how much she loves her mother and how things are not as bad between them as the public may believe:

Tori Spelling insists that the supposed rift between her and her mother, Candy Spelling, isn’t nearly as bad as it’s been made out to be. “It’s not like we’re not talking, we just haven’t talked,” the actress, whose new book, Mommywood, hits bookstores Tuesday, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “I love my mother. I’ve always loved her [and] no doubt she loves me. There’s no feud. We simply never meshed.”

In response to these new comments from Tori (and to new excerpts from Tori’s new book Mommywood, in stores today), Candy has posted a new open letter to her daughter on CandySpelling.com refuting the claim that the pair are not estranged and pleads that Tori “step up” and reach out to her … she writes:

“You haven’t responded to my emails, phone calls and text messages. You say you look at my website, so I’m trying to reach you that way. I want to see you and your family – in private, like the ‘normal family’ you say always wanted.”

While it is supremely sad that mother and daughter have to communicate this way, I suppose it’s encouraging that Candy seems willing to extend the olive branch to her daughter. It remains to be seen if Tori will bite and will reach out to her mother in order to reconcile but, like Candy, I am hopeful too. Tori’s children deserve a relationship with their grandmother … hopefully Candy Spelling’s latest public plea to her daughter will finally get the pair to mend fences once and for all.

Um, let’s be real here … there ain’t nothing A-List about the A-List Awards. How much do you wanna bet that Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan grabbed the closest scantily-clad woman in sight so that he would get photographed by the assembled media folks (and how much do you want to bet that Tila Tequila thought she was posing for a pic with Uncle Fester from The Addams Family)? I got $10. I mean, I get that Bravo is trying to start something akin to the MTV Video Music Awards with their little show but I’m afraid it ain’t gonna happen. The network boldly nominated some bona fide A-List people (David Beckham, Brad Pitt, Michelle Obama, Tina Fey) but when all you get on your red carpet is Pug Dilton and Aubrey O’Day, well, mebbe it’s time to change the name of your awards show … perhaps the A-Hole Awards? I keed, I keed … but seriously …. they should stop. That being said, I do love Kathy Griffin and if they keep getting her to host, I’ll prolly watch it in reruns or something. Or, you know, not.

Getting behind the velvet rope at New York Fashion Week is no easy task, as Tori Spelling discovered [Thursday] night. The actress, who recently signed on to reprise her role as Donna Martin in the new incarnation of 90210, flew into a rage after a security guard asked to see her invite to the Christian Siriano catwalk show. She had arrived to see the latest collection by the designer, who won the fourth season of American reality show Project Runway, and appeared to be incensed with the lack of VIP treatment. Apparently fearing the onset of a full-blown diva tantrum, a team of Fashion Week organisers swept in to inform the guard she was allowed to enter the show. She quickly took up her front row seat where she appeared to calm down. Perhaps hunger played a factor in her mini meltdown – the 35-year-old certainly looked painfully thin in her deep-teal Siriano cocktail dress. Tori has slimmed remarkably since the arrival of her second child, one-year-old Stella.

LOL! Poor Tori … how embarrassing for her. I suppose it’s easy to understand her displeasure at being treated so poorly … after all, she designed the jewelry that the models in Christian’s show wore on the runway — so, yeah, she was kinda supposed to be there. That said, it’s really not all too difficult to see why the security guard had no idea who Tori Spelling was/is … I bet a lot of people would have a hard time knowing who she is these days. I bet she can’t *wait* for her eps on 90210 to hit the airwaves.
