Suri Holmes-Cruise, the little person who celebrated her 3rd birthday last week, had herself a very low-key party at her parents SoCal manse with just a few friends and family in attendance. She also got a trampoline to jump around on. Yeah, and that was pretty much it:

Nope. No famous celebrity baby friends, no carousels or riding ponies …. nothing at all to distinguish her birthday fête from that of any normal, human 3 year old child. To be honest, it’s refreshing to see that the Cruise clan doesn’t need to spend lots of money (or any money, for that matter) in celebration of their little robot-girl’s third year of existence … tho, I’m not entirely sure that Suri felt the same. As you may recall, Suri was treated like a little princess (literally) on a recent visit to Disney World in Florida … and that was for no special occasion at all. I bet the little miss was expecting something more extravagant for her actual birthday party. Well, if Suri wants to live like a real live girl she’s gonna hafta get used to things like this … and besides, trampolines can be fun! Even for robots.

Suri Holmes-Cruise became a princess for a day this week when her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, took her to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida and let her loose upon the park. Little Suri was allowed access to all of the Disney characters who were clamoring over one another to have their photo taken with the little robot. Here are a few pics of the Holmes-Cruises (including Connor Kidman-Cruise) as they enjoyed all the wonders that the Magic Kingdom has to offer:

Being the daughter of one of Hollywood’s most well paid actors certainly has its perks. And toddler Suri Cruise was enjoying the benefits of it during a family trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. The two-year-old, who was dressed as a princess for the occasion, looked to be having a magical time as she was treated to a very personal meet and greet with her heroes Mickey and Minnie Mouse while her doting parents Tom Cruise, 46, and Katie Holmes, 30, looked on. The Cruise family skipped the queues at the theme park and spent time with a number of characters including Cinderella – much to Suri’s delight. The toddler, who has become something of a fashionista despite her tender years, looked adorable in a blue ball gown and bare feet and was all smiles during the trip which was a Valentines Day surprise for her and her mother from film star Tom. Katie opted for a more casual look for the occasion and was sporting a striped top and jeans. Before the trip Cruise admitted that he had some special treats up his sleeve for his 30-year-old wife and would provide “a lot of surprises for her throughout the day.”

Aww, so precious. It really looks like Suri had a great time. I understand the only snafu came when the family rode the It’s A Small World ride and Suri got lost amongst the other animatronic children. Because it was very difficult to find Suri in the midst of all the other adorable little robots, they had to shut down the ride to find the little doll. I believe she was found hiding amongst the Tahitian robots. In any event, it appears that the entire family had a great visit to Disney World … clearly evident from the smiles on all of their faces. See, even robots need to vacation every once-in-a-while.

Earlier this week we saw photos of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in Brazil and we got an eyeful of Tom’s bulging muscles that couldn’t help but show thru his very tight, very thin sheer shirt. Yesterday we saw photos of Katie and daughter Suri Holmes-Cruise enjoying an afternoon away from Tom’s watchful eye (but, alas, the ladies weren’t able to make a successful getaway). Today, the best photos yet … Tom Cruise — shirtless by the pool, behold:

And by “best”, I mean “UGH!” I had a feeling that Tom’s penchant for the sheer shirt might lead to something along these lines. Surely, one cannot fault him for disrobing in order to enjoy the lovely Brazilian sun (or for sucking in his gut cuz he knows he is being photographed) but … the mere thought of Tom Cruise in any state of undress is … unsettling … which is why I’m making all y’all endure my unsettlement along with me ;) Tho, I must confess, there was once a time when the sight of a mostly nekkid Tom Cruise wasn’t a scary thing … quite the contrary. At any rate, I understand that TomKat have already left the country and, presumably, are fully dressed once again. And for that, we give thanks.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have made their way to Brazil to do a little promo work (and possibly enjoy a little R+R?) and they look to be in a partying mood … well, at least Tom does … Katie, for her part, looks tired and worn out. Tommy, on the other hand, is smiling from ear to ear and seems happy to show off his bulging muscles which cannot help but show thru his flimsy black shirt. TOM CRUISE is clearly keen to show off his new trim bod. The Mission Impossible star has got into decent shape recently, just in time to fulfil endless publicity for his new film, Valkyrie He’s currently in Brazil, where the film debuts on Tuesday, and enjoyed an evening at a sushi restaurant in Copa Cabana wearing this see-through top with wife KATIE HOLMES. The couple had earlier taken their daughter SURI to a beach located on the residential area of a Brazilian military base in Rio de Janeiro, where she mixed with children of military staff.

Yeah, I don’t know that I need to see Tom Cruise’s nipples poking thru his sheer shirt … I realize it may be hot down in Brazil but … are sheer shirts on men really necessary? I guess it depends on the man, actually … Hugh Jackman could wear a sheer shirt any time he likes and I’d be OK with it. In any event, I hope Katie is able to get some rest … she’s been workin’ hard on Broadway for the past few months, she deffo deserves a vacay. Get some sun, Katie … and get a proper shirt or your husband! Thanks!!

Tom Cruise, Kenneth Branagh and others were on hand last night at Rose Hall for the NYC premiere of their new movie Valkyrie, which tells the story of the failed assassination attempt of a few German soldiers on Adolph Hitler. Despite a barrage of negative reviews in the past few weeks, I suppose the show must go on as the film is set for premiere in theaters on December 25. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals last night:

Tom Cruise knows just what fans want for Christmas. “You want to see Hitler killed on Christmas,” the star said at the premiere of Valkyrie. In the film, opening Dec. 25, Cruise plays Col. Claus von Stauffenberg, a German army officer who plots and attempts to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944. The film is directed by Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, X-Men). “I just set out to make the best film I could possibly make,” Cruise said. “It’s a timeless thriller. It’s man against tremendous odds.” Is Cruise anywhere near as brave as von Stauffenberg? Would he also have spoken out? “All of us would like to think we would do that,” he said. “I would like to think I would.” Cruise’s wife, Katie Holmes, who is starring in All My Sons on Broadway, didn’t walk the red carpet with the actor: “She’s inside the theater. When her play opened, I was the host. It’s teamwork.” Carice van Houten, Cruise’s on-screen wife, reminisced fondly about shooting the film. “He’s very goofy. We had dancing lessons, and we couldn’t stop laughing.” The film also stars Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy and Tom Wilkinson.

I’d say it’s pretty risky to open a Nazi film on Xmas day — I’m not sure too many people are gonna be in the mood to watch a movie with this sort of subject matter on such a special holiday — but you gotta give it up to Cruise and Singer for giving it a try. Unfortch, the movie cannot even deliver on the desire for the audience to see Hilter assassinated because the attempt was not successful. So basically, the plan is to try and get folks into theaters on Xmas day to watch a movie about a group of Nazis who unsuccessfully try to kill the most evil man who ever lived … yeah, sounds like fine holiday family fare to me. Personally, I might have a hard time believing Tom Cruise in a role like this so I’m not sure I’m gonna take the risk to check out this film but … there has to be a market out there for it, right? Right?

The happily married Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are each featured individually on the cover and in the pages of the new Reinvention issue of The New York Times Style Magazine (not to be confused with the mere New York Times Magazine) this week. In coverphotos that pay homage to actors and actresses of Hollywood’s Golden Age, TomKat each get TWO of thier own magazine covers … cuz they’re just that big, y’all:

With such high profiles nowadays it appears Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are both now too big to appear on the same front cover. The couple have such star appeal that they have each been given the full-on Forties glamour treatment – and their own individual covers for T: The New York Times Style Magazine. This week’s Reinvention issue shows Katie with curled hair and elegant gowns – evoking Hollywood’s ultimate heroines such as Rita Hayworth, Lana Turner and Veronica Lake. With his upturned collar and his side-parted slicked hair, Tom looks every bit the war-time hero. The Forties fashion spread has been selected to promote his latest film Valkyrie in which he plays German aristocrat Colonel Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg who led a plot to blow up Adolf Hitler in 1944. The movie, directed by Usual Suspects writer Bryan Singer, has been created to showcase Cruise’s acting talents and hopefully revive his career which has gone off course in recent years. In the accompanying interviews, the couple open up about the dynamics of their high-profile relationship. Katie tells the publication: “There’s a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn’t have any control of her life. And that’s pretty wrong. From the very beginning, I’ve made choices in my life that have been very strong.” For his part, Tom reminisces about their early romance and admits he bought Katie an engagement ring shortly after their first date in 2005. “I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her,” he says. “After our very first date, I was sure. At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I cut her off by changing the subject. I wanted to ask her.”

Okay … wanting to buy an engagement ring after the first date does sound a bit creepy but in the world of TomKat … meh, it makes sense. There is still a lot about this couple that weirds me out (and always has from the beginning) but they appear to be making a successful go at a relationship and still seem very happy committed to one another. I admit I never thought it would last and yet, here they are. Normally I would balk at the need for individual magazine covers but these photos are so amazing, I can’t even complain. Yesterday we saw pics of Les Beckhams (David and Victoria along with their children Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz) out and about with TomKat (Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and their possibly real daughter Suri Holmes-Cruise) at various places around NYC. Today, we get to see more pics of the family friends (including Tom’s adopted children Isabella and Connor with former wife Nicole Kidman) enjoying other parts of the Big Apple in full display of any camera within a 10 mile radius. First up, the families made their way en masse to Central Park:

But soon after they arrived, the ladies in the group decided that they were tired of walking and decided to hop aboard a horse-drawn carriage for a little ride:

Clearly, Vicki B. and her middle child Romeo were not impressed. Incidentally, I do realize that Romeo Beckham isn’t really one of the “ladies” but, lets be honest here, the little lad is the closest thing that VB has to a daughter so there you have it.

After the carriage ride bored them to tears, the families made their way to the Big Apple Circus for a little family fun …

… complete with photo op afterward. Lord … I realize that these people are insanely famous and that they are apt to drawn a massive crowd of onlookers wherever they go but I would’ve expected the families to spend at least part of their day out of the public eye perhaps enjoying one another’s company. In any event, it appears that the Beckham-TomKat Bunch were doing their best to get the most out of this Thanksgiving holiday. While they all look entirely miserable, I do hope that they were able to enjoy their time together and be thankful for the wealth and privilege they are all able to enjoy.
