Yesterday we learned of the latest report, this time by US Weekly magazine, that music superstar Beyoncé and her music superstar hubby Jay-Z are pregnant with their first child. Today we learn from Beyoncé‘s mother, who paid a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday to clear up the rumors, that Beyoncé is NOT pregs:

Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles just blew the lid off the story that her daughter is pregnant — telling Ellen DeGeneres, the rumors are simply “not true.”

Tina makes a little joke that it’s not Beyoncé who’s pregs, is she who is pregs … yeah, it wasn’t a very funny joke. This episode of Ellen airs today but you can check out video of Tina‘s denial (and lame joke) after the jump …

Superstar Beyoncé and her mother Tina Knowles were on hand at a ribbon cutting ceremony in Brooklyn, NY yesterday to officially open the Beyoncé Cosmetology Center which will operate at The Phoenix House — a residential substance abuse treatment center to help troubled young people turn their lives around. Here is a photo of the newly opened center and some deets about the ceremony yesterday:

The president of Brooklyn has declared Beyonce an official Brooklynite. Borough President Marty Markowitz said Beyonce is a Brooklynite by marriage and by moxie. Beyonce’s husband, Jay-Z, is from Brooklyn. The superstar visited the New York City borough Friday for the opening of the Beyonce Cosmetology Center at a residential substance abuse treatment center. The Phoenix House offers programs for residents in carpentry, building maintenance, computer technology and culinary arts. Beyonce said she thought it also should have more programs geared toward women. She said her mother’s Houston salon helped so many people feel good about themselves and better their lives. Beyonce first spent time at Phoenix House when preparing for the role of Etta James in the 2008 film, Cadillac Records.

While I certain the haters will have something snarky to say about Beyoncé opening up a beauty school but I think it’s really fantastic that she would want to be a part of such an important place for troubled people. Beyoncé is a role model to so many people … here, she can also be an inspiration for rehabilitated folks to turn their lives around. Some break-up news to pass along today … Beyoncé‘s parents, Tina and Matthew Knowles, are officially going splitsville now that Tina has filed for divorce. I understand that things have not been good between Tina and Matthew for some time now (and I imagine that the paternity suit slapped on Matthew back in October didn’t help matters very much) so I guess it was time to make it official. Beyoncé‘s folks are dunzo!

Beyonce Knowles’ mom — the original costume designer for Destiny’s Child — has filed for divorce from her husband Mathew Knowles. Tina Knowles filed divorce papers in Harris County, Texas last month, in an attempt to end their 29-year marriage. Back in October, Mathew was hit with a paternity lawsuit from a woman who’s not his wife — no word if that affected Tina’s decision to pull the plug. Mathew has been Beyonce’s manager for years, so there could be a ton of cash up for grabs in the split. The couple has two children together: Beyonce and Beyonce’s younger sister.

Yikes! As far as big break-ups go … this one is a doozy. Not so much because of the break-up itself but because of the money that is involved. The Knowles’ together are hugely responsible for all the financial success that Destiny’s Child and Beyoncé herself have and still enjoy. I imagine they are very rich … together. But, if Tina is divorcing from Matthew due to infidelitous behavior, she might come out on the better end of this divorce. It totally sucks that something like this has to happen around the holidays but, well, these things happen. Here’s hoping it all works out in everyone’s best interests.

Beyoncé took a break from touring in Europe this week to spend some time at a beach in Monaco with her mother Tina Knowles and some friends. It doesn’t look like B is a fan of the water because she stayed as far away from the water as possible … tho, at one point, she deigned to let her feet get wet in the surf:

Beyoncé never struck me as the timid kind of person … I wonder if the water was just too cold or something. She did keep fully covered even outside of the water. I know the woman is fiercer than she appears in these photos. Just dive in, B … you can always buy a new weave anytime you like.

Beyoncé and her mama Tina Knowles were on hand this week in NYC to do an in-store appearance at Bloomingdale’s department store for the official launch of a new collection of House of Dereon fashions inspired by B‘s new movie Cadillac Records (a biopic of sorts where Beyoncé portrays jazz/soul singer Etta James). Here are a few pics of B and T at this week’s in-store appearance:

I don’t actually know of anyone who has ever purchased and/or worn an article of clothing from House of Dereon (Beyoncé‘s “high end” fashion line) but it must be doing well if they are able to produce specialized collections like this. I’m always dubiously wary of celebrity branded clothing lines (because, really, if you’re going to spend money on expensive clothes, why not spend that money on actual designer labels?) but I can understand how some folks might want to shell out clothes “designed” by their fave stars. I believe Jennifer Lopez‘s fashion line sells well … as does P. Diddy‘s Sean John line. In any event, the House of Dereon: Cadillac Records Collection is coming your way so interested parties should be on the look-out.

She sure looks a lot like regular ol’ Beyoncé in most of these pics … only the ferosh pic in the middle looks anything like Sasha Fierce. You gotta admit … Beyoncé is everywhere these days. The girl knows how to work. Is anyone else buying any of this?
