The TV Guide
Friend Of Dorothy

Last night David and I made our way to the Cinemadome at the ArcLight Theater in Hollywood, CA to see The Wizard of Oz on the big screen. It was the first time that either of us were able to see the movie in a theater, just like audiences did 70 years ago when it was originally released. To say it was a magical experience would be an understatement:

All I kept thinking was how mind-blowing that movie must’ve been for movie-goers 70 years ago who were able to see a movie in COLOR for the first time. I’ve always loved how the movie starts out in black & white (well, sepia actually) and then EXPLODES into color when Dorothy lands in Oz. I cannot even imagine how spectacular that feat must’ve seemed when the movie was released originally. We had such a blast. I would always watch The Wizard of Oz on TV with my parents around Thanksgiving … but being able to see it in the Cinemadome was truly the best way to see this film. I also spent a lot of time thinking about the story from the musical Wicked while I watched the film last night. Both stories are so filled with magic and wonder … they will live on for all time. If any of y’all get the chance to see The Wizard of Oz on the big screen I urge you to do so … it’s a wonderful experience that you won’t soon forget.

After the movie, we made our way to The Abbey to meet up with Darion and his parents who are visiting SoCal for one night only. We snapped some photos — check ‘em out after the jump …

Kristin Cavallari Celebrates The 70th Anniversary Of ‘The Wizard Of Oz’

The new star of MTV‘s The Hills, Kristin Cavallari, was on hand at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising here in LA last night to attend the 70th Anniversary Screening Of The Wizard Of Oz. Here are a few pics of KC at last night’s even lookin’ supermegahawt:

Yes, this event is kinda random and I’m not sure what having Kristin Cavallari‘s appearance has to do with The Wizard of Oz … but she did look smokin’ hot in her sexy dress. It turns out that Heather Graham wore this same dress to the Hollywood premiere of The Hangover a couple of weeks ago but IMHO KC deffo looks better in the dress. I think Kristin’s plan of attack is to appear at as many events as possible leading up to the debut of the new season of The Hills. Methinks we’ll be seeing more of KC in the coming weeks and months … wherever will she show up next?
