Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Prom’tastic Birthday

Inside her 22nd birthday party
Friday, July 4th, 2008

Here is a quick follow-up post on Lindsay Lohan’s prom-themed 22nd birthday party which took place at Teddy’s lounge inside The Roosevelt Hotel here in Hollywood, CA on Wednesday night … Marc Malkin from E! News managed to get the inside scoop on what went down at L. Lo’s party which fills in the blanks a bit from what we previously heard went down at the shindig. Additionally, here are a few pics from inside the soiree itself:

The starlet celebrated her 22nd birthday last night with a 1980s prom-themed party at Teddy’s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The evening started off with a small dinner at nearby Magnolia restaurant… She wore an off-white slip dress during the meal and then headed into a restroom at the party to change into her second outfit: a pink chiffon minidress by Bradley Bayou. Samantha Ronson wore a tuxedo, including a top hat. “Lindsay is drinking a Red Bull with a straw,” one party guest emailed me during the bash. “There are red, silver, light blue and light pink balloons everywhere.” Lohan’s table included an assortment of cupcakes, included an oversize one decorated with a tiara. At about midnight, LiLo was presented with a pink-and-green sheet cake—featuring the iconic Marilyn Monroe photo from The Seven Year Itch—while the 50 or so guests sang “Happy Birthday” … Celeb guests included Joel and Benji Madden, David Spade, Audrina Patridge, Sean Stewart and Evan Ross. E! reality stars (and Lohan family members) Dina and Ali were also there, as was Lindsay’s brother Michael Jr. and his girlfriend. Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Lohan and Ronson had lunch at La Scala in Beverly Hills following a shopping trip to nearby XIV Karat jewelry store. Lohan spent $11,000 on a 16-inch briolette platinum diamond necklace and matching bracelet, according to a source. Ronson is said to have bought a “really beautiful gold bracelet” for the birthday girl.

Aww … it sounds like it was a really fun, really nice party. It’s nice to hear that Lindsay Lohan can party with her friends without overdoing it and taking things too far. It’s encouraging to hear that Linds stuck with the Red Bull all night long. I’m glad that Lindsay is taking care of herself and has managed to find happiness … in whatever form she can find it. She seems really contented with her life and the people surrounding her … it’s just great news all around for her these days. I honestly wasn’t sure if the Hollywood bad girls would be able to turn their lives around so fully, so successfully and so soon. Britney Spears is back on track, even Paris Hilton has settled into a life of normalcy … and now Lindsay, too. 2008 might just go down as the year that the Hollywood “It” Girls actually evolved into good girls.

Lindsay Lohan Celebrates Her Birthday In Style

Reveals her birthday wishes for the coming year
Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Lindsay Lohan celebrated her 22nd birthday last night with family and friends at Teddy’s lounge inside the Roosevelt Hotel here in Hollywood, CA. Keeping the guest list at a conservative 50 people, L. Lo partied the night away at a prom-themed shindig with only her closest peeps by her side. This morning, Linds called in to talk to Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show here in LA on KIIS FM and talked a bit about her party and her birthday wishes. Here is a fairly detailed report from People magazine on Lindsay’s party and some deets from her chat with Ryan Seacrest:

Lindsay Lohan turned 22 Wednesday night with an intimate prom-themed birthday bash – and a sweet smooch from Samantha Ronson. The actress – wearing a bright pink strapless micro-minidress and a massive diamond necklace – arrived at Teddy’s lounge inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel just after 10 p.m. And her companion Ronson took the prom-theme seriously, dressed to the nines in black pants, a tuxedo shirt, bow tie and top hat with red trim. Once the 50 guests – including former Sopranos star Jamie Lynn Sigler – began arriving at the balloon-filled venue, the Birthday Girl greeted them all energetically with smiles, hugs and kisses. Ronson was never far behind, often keeping her hand on the small of Lohan’s back. Just after midnight, Teddy’s wheeled out a large pink sheet cake featuring a picture of Marilyn Monroe in her iconic wind-blown white dress. The entire lounge sang “Happy Birthday” and Lohan obligingly blew out the candles. Her friends then chanted “speech, speech, speech,” but the guest of honor replied jokingly, “Shut the fuck up.” (Her mother, Dina, stepped in to say, “Thank you all for coming.”) Soon after that, Ronson took over the D.J. duties (replacing DJ AM), as she spun a mix of ’80s tunes and current hits. Lohan – who stuck to Red Bull all evening – made several visits to the booth and pumped her fists in the air to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” As the party wound down, the couple appeared to relax, even sneaking in a small peck on the lips at the DJ booth. By 1:15 a.m., the music was muted and Lohan turned out the lights with Ronson by her side.

Talking to Ryan Seacrest this morning, Lindsay talked about her party and her birthday wishes saying:

“I guess for everyone to leave everyone alone … no more tabloids … I just want to live a happy, healthy year and continue on the path that I’ve been on and, um, you know, be with the person that I care about and my family and I think that’s it.”

I’m also impressed that Lindsay has managed to find happiness in her personal life and has no problem staying true to that happiness. Sounds like she had a great birthday … hopefully the best is yet to come :)
