"People want to watch rich girls behaving badly"
The ‘Real Housewives’ Cover The New Issue Of ‘The Hollywood Reporter’

A collection of Real Housewives from the various incarnations of the reality TV series on Bravo are featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. A representative each from Beverly Hills (Kyle Richards), New York (Ramona Singer), Atlanta (NeNe Leakes), New Jersey (Caroline Manzo) and Orange County (Vicki Gunvalson) has been chosen to represent the entire Real Housewives franchise for this coverstory that talks about the appeal of the series. It’s the series that some love to hate or love to LURVE and, apparently, that is worth The Hollywood Reporter‘s attention. Click below to see the Real Housewives on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter and read an excerpt from the accompanying coverstory feature.

Also, Bethenny Frankel Offers Her Thoughts on The Axing As Well
Fired ‘Real Housewives’ Star Jill Zarin Issues A Statement About Her Axing

Last weekend we learned officially that Bravo TV decided to fire 4 of the 6 castmembers of The Real Housewives of NYC and today we are hearing publicly from one of those fired castmembers for the first time since the firing. Jill Zarin — who started out as one of my faves and then slowly regressed into a bitter, hateful and jealous person — posted a statement on her official blog about being fired from the show. In addition, RHONYC alum Bethenny Frankel — who has her own show away from the Real Housewives franchise AND was almost lost at sea a few days ago — was asked about the firings and she offers her opinion. Read both statements in full below.

Jill, Alex, Kelly & Cindy got AXED!
Bravo TV Fires 4 Castmembers From ‘The Real Housewives Of NYC’

For the week rumors have been swirling that major castmembers on The Real Housewives of New York City had gotten fired from the show and today we learn that those rumors are TRUE! Bravo TV has confirmed that original castmembers Jill Zarin and Alex McCord, along with newer castmember Kelly Bensimone and brand new castmember Cindy Barshop have been FIRED from RHONYC. As I understand it, filming has already begun on the upcoming season … and none of these 4 women have been asked to return. Now that we know their axing is true, we also know that their contracts have NOT been picked up again. Jill, Alex, Kelly and Cindy are DUNZO!

Let's Try This Again
The 4th Season Of ‘The Real Housewives Of NYC’ Will Premiere On April 7

Back in January we learned that the 4th season of The Real Housewives of NYC would be debuting on Bravo TV in mid-February. Then, the premiere date got canceled due to the fact that Bravo was still filming new footage for the show … and The Real Housewives of Miami was released in its place. Today we learn that the 4th season of RHONYC has a new premiere date and a new preview clip. Check out new video footage of the upcoming new season of The Real Housewives of NYC which is now set to premiere on Tuesday April 7.

Sonja Morgan Explains Why The New Season Of ‘The Real Housewives Of NYC’ Has Been Pushed Back

Earlier today we got our first look at the premiere season of The Real Housewives of Miami when we learned that the show would be debuting on Bravo TV this month. As a result of RHOM‘s debut, the upcoming 4th season of The Real Housewives of NYC has been pushed back to the Spring. RHONY castmember Sonja Morgan, who got busted for DUI last Summer and then filed for bankruptcy last Fall (presumably off camera), spoke to Star magazine about the RHONY delay … she explains the show was pushed back to allow more time for editing.

First Look: ‘The Real Housewives Of NYC’ Season 4

Now that the debut season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is coming to an end it’ll soon be time to turn our attentions back to the East Coast for the return of The Real Housewives of NYC. On February 15, Bravo TV will premiere the 4th season of The Real Housewives of NYC … and because Bethenny Frankel has left show for a show of her own, a new housewife is being introduced in new promo photos and video from the new season.

Acting Out
‘Real Housewives’ Castmember Ramona Singer Reportedly Attacks A TV Producer

The newest season of the Bravo TV reality TV series The Real Housewives debuted last night with the ladies from Atlanta, but filming has just gotten started on The Real Housewives of NYC and the drama has already gotten off to a big start. Life & Style magazine is reporting that Ramona Crazy Eyes Singer decided to slap a TV producer while new scenes for the show’s next season were being filmed … and, to be honest, I totally believe it:

Only weeks in to taping the fourth season of The Real Housewives of New York City and violence has erupted on set! But this time the altercation has nothing to do with famous frenemies Jill Zarin and Bethenny Frankel! “During filming, Ramona [Singer] slapped one of the producers from Shed Media, the company that produces the reality show,” an insider tells Life & Style exclusively. “It got very out of hand. What a way to start off the season, huh!” “Ramona has been acting out physically and emotionally,” a second source tells Life & Style. “Her acting out wasn’t a story line for the show. It’s crazy; everyone involved in the show has been talking about it. What seems to be going on with her lately is unclear, but she’s been very erratic” … The Real Housewives of New York City doesn’t have a set date for its season premiere on Bravo, and reps for the company declined to comment for this story.

Oh Ramona, how I have missed thee. In all honesty, my fave batch of Housewives are the Atlanta ladies (and boy did I love seeing them back on my TV last night) but I really enjoy watching the crazies from NYC. Ramona is very savvy when it comes to getting attention on the show … I wouldn’t put it past her to start slappin’ people just to bring the focus onto herself. Of course, this report is mere conjecture … but my guess is that if Bravo TV has video footage of this alleged “attack”, it’ll make its way to TV. It’s gonna be a long wait until we get to see the new season of The Real Housewives of NYC but them crazy gals make the waiting worthwhile.

Danielle Staub releases a sex tape & the NYC 'Housewives' reunite to fight
‘Real Housewives’ Star Teresa Giudice Files For Bankruptcy

Wooo, lawdy! We’ve got a lot of fun stuff to get into about the insanely tacky yet deliciously entertaining castmembers of Bravo TV‘s Real Housewives series. First, you may recall that last week we learned that it was reported that Teresa Giudice, who stars on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and her family are $11+ million dollars in debt despite the lavish lifestyle they purport to enjoy on the reality TV show. Today we learn that the Giudice family has been forced to file for bankruptcy because they are B-R-O-K-E:

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is breaking her silence after it was discovered that she and her husband Joe filed for bankruptcy. “While this is a personal matter, I realize that certain aspects of my private life will always be subject to scrutiny and distortion,” Giudice says in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE. “What is true is that due to the economy, most of my husband’s real estate ventures failed despite his hard work and effort. As a result, we looked to the Bankruptcy Court for a ‘fresh start.’” Indeed court papers filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Newark, N.J., show that Giudice, 38, and her husband filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which requires liquidation of assets in order to pay creditors, in October of last year. Papers also show that the couple had to undergo credit counseling, and were awarded a temporary stay on payments for their Cadillac Escalade and mortgage payments for properties. In the documents filed, the pair declared their personal assets, which include real property and personal property, as $2,261,150. But their liabilities — $8,709,831.34 — far exceeded that number. In addition, the couple had to assess their monthly income. Combining Joe’s salary as owner of G&G Stucco and Stone Specialist in Clifton, N.J., with Teresa’s income from Bravo and “monthly assistance from family members,” that number totaled $16,583.33. Their expenditures, including their mortgage, food, clothing, dry cleaning, health insurance and other expenses, total $16,582. The couple owes more than $33,000 on various store credit cards, $85,000 for home repairs and $91,000 for materials used to build their new home. During the first season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Giudice, who famously flipped a table on the show, and her family moved into their $1.7 million mansion in Towaco, N.J. The reality star, who was often filmed treating her daughters to new clothing and expensive toys, was also depicted flashing stacks of cash while furnishing the house. And in a recent episode on the second season, she boasted of spending significant funds on her daughter Gia‘s spa birthday party. “When people fall, the way to success is to get up and learn from our mistakes,” Giudice says. “We are in that process.”

Dang … when hypocrites fall, they fall hard. If you watch the show (and you should, it’s a crazy freakfest each and every week) you had to know that this pitiful family was living way beyond their means. Considering how disgustingly flippant Guidice enjoys flaunting her “wealth” on the show, it just seems karmically right that she get slapped down hard in the real world for her outrageously irresponsible behavior. Guidice recently gave birth to her 4th child and never seemed to care about planning financially for her children’s future. Hopefully this will serve as a lesson.

In other Real Housewives of New Jersey news, castmember Danielle Staub is allegedly about to make her sex tape debut! Referred to as a “prostitution whore” by her fellow castmates, Staub (née Beverly Ann Merrill) is reportedly featured in a 75 minute sex tape that TMZ reports is about to be released by Hustler Inc.:

Another “celebrity” sex tape is about to hit the market — and this time, the people distributing the footage claim the star is Danielle Staub from “Real Housewives of New Jersey.” Hustler Inc. tells us it is all set to distribute a 75 minute tape, featuring Jersey’s most hated Housewife — and mother of two — in a naked romp with a mystery man. A rep from Hustler tells us the tape was shot last September — several months after 47-year old Staub first appeared on the Bravo reality show. The tape is set to be released on June 14. A rep for Staub had no comment on the story.

Yikes! I cannot think of a thing I’d MOST never, ever want to see in my life. Previews for next week’s ep of The Real Housewives of New Jersey hint of the discussion of Staub‘s sex tape so it sounds like — like it or not — the tape is on the way.

Oh and one last bit of Housewives goodness to share, the reunion episode of The Real Housewives of New York City is set to air on Bravo this Thursday night — after the jump, check out 2 preview videos from that much-anticipated reunion special (oh, you know you want to) …

Everybody

Bravo TV has whipped up a music video to accompany the new song Tardy for the Party that was “recorded” by Kim Zolciak (from The Real Housewives of Atlanta) but was written and produced by Kandi Burruss (also from TRHOA) that includes appearances from castmembers of all of the Real Housewives shows from the various seasons — Orange County, New York City, Atlanta and New Jersey:

The video looks kinda homemade but it’s cute … I guess. I hate that I like the song because I really cannot stand Kim … but everything great about the song is due to Kandi‘s musical (and seemingly magical) talent. You listen to this song once and it’s in your head for hours/days/weeks. It remains to be seen if Zolciak will release a music video of her own … but I think this one is enough.

Is Kelly Bensimone dunzo?
Is Bravo TV Lookin’ For A New ‘Real Housewife Of New York City’?

E! News‘s Marc Malkin has noted that Bravo TV has put out a casting call for their hit Reality TV series The Real Housewives of New York City … which has tongues wagging that someone in the cast might be leaving. It’s no secret that the newest housewife, Kelly Bensimone, made herself look like a total and complete ass on the last season of the show … could she be getting the axe so that someone more interesting (and less moronic) can take her place? Malkin also reports that Bravo TV is also seeking castmembers for a possible new incarnation of the Real Housewives franchise … in Beverly Hills, CA:

As we all know by now, Kelly Bensimon didn’t exactly become anyone’s favorite on The Real Housewives of New York City. Not too long ago, fellow Housewife Jill Zarin told us that she thinks Ms. Kelly should ditch the show because she never really meshed with the others. Could producers already be looking for Kelly’s replacement? Bravo has sent out a casting notice for NYC’s third season! “Are you a woman living in one of the most exclusive areas of New York who has to juggle their career, home life, and a jam-packed social calendar full of charity fund-raising galas, Hampton parties and nights on the New York social scene?” the notice reads in part. “Casting producers are interested in meeting immediately!” I hear none of the Housewives’ returns are guaranteed because negotiations for season three haven’t even begun yet. Kelly has already made it perfectly clear that she’ll be back—if Bravo wants her again, that is. A Bravo rep declined to comment on Kelly’s status. “We’re always looking for new and interesting characters and to keep the show fresh,” the rep said. “There are so many stories to tell and we want to keep topping ourselves every season.” Meanwhile, it was bound to happen in the Housewives franchise. Sources confirm a report that producers are currently on the hunt to cast The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Bravo rep declined to comment on Bev Hills.

Kudos … on both fronts!! As much as I do love the drama that Bensimone brought to the series, I’m getting really tired of watching her bullshizz and having no one do anything about it. I’d be all for Kelly Bensimone‘s return if I knew that someone, like say Bethenny Frankel, would promise to kick her ass. OK, that might be a bit harsh … but she really does need to be put in her place. She also could use some diction lessons. If Kelly goes, I ain’t gonna cry one bit. Good riddance, I say. On the Beverly Hills Housewives rumor, I’m all for it. One can never have too much of this ridiculous drama to have and to hold. The New Jersey Housewives have yet to kick into bitchy-drama gear but I suspect they will bring the LULz. Why not start the search for a new batch of housewives to serve the entertainment? Huzzah on all fronts!!
