The National Enquirer is reporting in its latest issue that CNN star and real-life superhero Anderson Cooper is planning to adopt a Haitian orphan … but the big news is that the magazine casually states that Cooper is adopting this baby with boyfriend Benjamin Maisani. Now, there have been rumors going around for ages that Anderson Cooper is gay and has been secretly dating Maisani for some time now … but the Enquirer is the first publication to put it out there that the couple are not only together, but are ready to settle down and make a family for themselves:

Hard-charging CNN anchorman Anderson Cooper was so moved by the suffering from the earthquake in Haiti, he’s decided to adopt a Haitian orphan, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively. The silver-haired journalist and his hunky boyfriend, Ben Maisani, plan to raise the child together in their recently purchased home, a former firehouse they’re renovating in New York’s West Village, pals say. “The death and destruction in Haiti made Anderson realize what’s really important. He and Ben have decided to become dads,” a longtime friend told The ENQUIRER. “Ben has been the best thing that’s ever happened to Anderson. They both feel they’re ready for a baby.” Anderson, 42, flew to the devastated country shortly after the quake struck on Jan. 12. Meanwhile, back in New York, 37-year-old club owner Ben has been overseeing renovations on the historic firehouse Anderson recently bought, the friend said. And Anderson has been so affected by the devastation in Haiti that he’s begun arrangements to adopt one of the country’s orphans. Although fatherhood may curtail some of Anderson’s globe-trotting, he’s not planning to give up his work anytime soon. “It just means once they get their son, he won’t jump on a plane for every story,” said the friend. “Plus Ben is totally capable of keeping things under control when Anderson is away.”

As with all reports by the National Enquirer, this should all be taken with a huge grain of salt. BUT, it should also be noted that the mag does tend to get some stories very right … they were the ones who broke the story of the John Edwards love child, could they be 100% right about Anderson and Ben‘s plan to start a family? Rumors have been flying all over the place as to Where in the World is Tiger Woods these days in the wake of the Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal which drove him into hiding. While we’ve had a few sightings of embattled wife Elin Nordegren in the past few weeks, the only place Tiger Woods has shown up is on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. There was a rumor back in December that Woods checked himself into a rehab clinic in Arizona but no real proof emerged from that report. Recently, The National Enquirer and others have claimed that Tiger Woods is actually in a sex rehab clinic in Mississippi … and this time, the Enquirer is claiming to have photographic proof:

Tiger Woods is receiving treatment for sexual addiction at a sex rehabilitation clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi according to two television stations and an author on the topic. Television stations WJTV and WLBT reported, citing unnamed sources, that Woods was at the Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services center, where security is tight and dark tarps have been placed upon wire fences. Benoit Denizet-Lewis, who wrote a book on sex addiction, wrote in a blog entry that Woods was receiving treatment at the sex-rehab facility, where he spent time while working on the book regarding sexually compulsive behavoir. Clinic officials have refused to confirm Woods is there to the television stations. ESPN also reported officials would not confirm Woods is a patient. Woods has admitted infidelity to wife Elin and more than a dozen women have claimed to have had affairs with the world’s top golfer, a scandal touched off when Woods drove his vehicle into a hydrant and a tree nearly two months ago.

HMMMM. I’m not sure that this photo provided by The National Enquirer is actually of Tiger Woods at all … but that doesn’t necessarily invalidate the claims that he is, indeed, checked into a sex rehab center in Mississippi. I mean … it could be him in the photo … just like it could be a staged photo to make it look like it’s him. The National Enquirer is reporting that Jonathan Knight, member of the recently reunited boy band New Kids On The Block, has been outed by an ex-boyfriend named Kyle Wilker who claims the pair were involved in a hush-hush romantic relationship for about 18 months leading up to the reformation of NKOTB last year … so of course, Wilker decided to sell his story (and personal intimate photos with Jonathan) to the tabloid. Here is a page from the new issue of The National Enquirer that features a few of these personal photos, one of which shows the two men snogging:

According to Wilker, Jonathan revealed that he “preferred guys to girls” after having dated 80s popstar Tiffany back in the day. Ah ha! So this is all Tiffany‘s fault! In any regard, Kyle Wilker‘s full story of his love affair with Jonathan Knight is published in the February 19th issue of The National Enquirer. I, for one, am really interested to read more. For years I’ve heard whispers that Jonathan was out of the closet in the years that NKOTB was a distant memory … if, in fact, he is truly this comfortable with his sexuality then I think it would be amazing if he would talk about it publicly now that he’s in the spotlight again. New parents Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge have, reportedly, reached out to OK! magazine in an effort to combat the rumors going around about their relationship as a couple. This week’s issue of OK! features an older photo (taken during new baby Maddie Briann‘s first photoshoot for the mag) of the couple behind the headline, I’m No Cheater … behold:

In a rare, exclusive interview, new parents Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge have reached out to OK! to defend themselves and their relationship against the tidal wave of rumor that has nagged them since the June 19 birth of their adorable baby daughter, Maddie Briann. A recent series of scurrilous tabloid stories have alleged that not only has 19-year-old Casey been unfaithful to Jamie Lynn, but that he’s also gotten another woman pregnant. The stories insist that the couple’s relationship is a sham and that he is still seeing other girls! On the topic of former friend Kelli Dawson, who claims to have been romantically involved with Casey, even after Maddie’s birth, he tells OK! these allegations of infidelity are “not the least bit” true. “In a small town, everybody knows everybody,” he explains. “But when money’s involved, you find out who your friends are.” As for reports he impregnated Kelli, a stunned Casey told OK!, “That’s news to me.” “That is just completely fabricated,” adds Jamie Lynn. “He never had an intimate relationship with her, so how would that be possible? Around here, that particular girl is known to make up stories.” And then there’s Whitney Seals, who supposedly romanced Casey. Says Jamie Lynn, “What happened was that one of those girls did it, and in this small town when one of them does it, they’re all like, ‘Good idea.’ They all jumped on the bandwagon.” The tall tales have taken their toll on the young parents. “It hurt me to hear those things,” reveals Jamie Lynn to OK!. “Because my family has to read it. It’s not fair to them.” Another factor making things worse is that the Aldridge family has been thrust unwillingly into the spotlight. “Casey’s family is not used to this,” the former Zoey 101 star explains. “They might assume it’s true. My family knows it’s not. It was definitely harder for Casey’s family to deal with it, but you just explain that it is part of this business.” The new mom says that her family has stood beside her through the entire ordeal. “They know if I were in a relationship like that, I wouldn’t put up with it,” she tells OK!. “My family supports me, and they support Casey also. They read those stories and take them with a grain of salt.”

Casey-Lynn is referring to THIS report from In Touch Weekly that published an interview with Kelli Dawson, who claims she had an intimate relationship with Casey Aldridge. Why the couple waited this long to refute Dawson‘s claims, I’m sure I have no idea but at least they’ve spoken up at last. Well, I guess now that Jamie Lynn and Casey have finally denounced the rumors of infidelity, we can put that issue to rest …

… and move on to a new Casey-Lynn rumor to take its place. The National Enquirer is reporting that Jamie Lynn is pregs with her second child — say it ain’t so!

Whoops – she did it again! Teen Prego Queen Jamie Lynn Spears has another bun in the oven, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER is reporting exclusively – and her pals are begging her to abort. In a blockbuster world exclusive, The ENQUIRER has learned that the 17-year-old Zoey 101 starlet is now expecting for the second time – a mere three months after giving birth on June 19 to baby Maddie Briann. Jamie’s desperate to keep the shock­ing news secret and some people close to her are urging Jamie Lynn to consider ending the pregnancy, sources say. “Jamie Lynn is about eight weeks pregnant, and she and her mom Lynne are hysterical,” revealed a close source. “Neither of them knows what to do, but for now they’re trying to keep the news from getting out.” Too late. The unplanned pregnancy came as a shock to Jamie Lynn, who’d been breast-feeding her infant daughter Maddie Briann, insiders say. “Jamie Lynn believed she couldn’t get pregnant while she was breast-feeding,” said the close source. “She’d expected to have her period by early September.” A home pregnancy test came back positive and Jamie Lynn cried her eyes out, said the source. Her mother Lynne was livid when she found out, divulged an insider. Meanwhile, insiders say that those close to Jamie Lynn are urging her to abort! “They’ve reminded Jamie Lynn how much trouble she had adjusting to motherhood with Maddie, and pointed out that having a second baby now would only be a recipe for disaster,” said the close source.

Now, I must confess that The National Enquirer isn’t always the bastion of verity that they wish they were but they do get these stories right sometimes (just ask Sen. John Edwards). TMZ is sourcing an “unimpeachable source” that claims this pregnancy report is categorically untrue:

Three-month-old Maddie Briann Aldridge is gonna have to wait to have a lil’ baby brother or sister, because Jamie Lynn Spears is not pregnant, y’all! While several reports are claiming Jamie Lynn is preggers again, an unimpeachable source tells TMZ Britney’s baby sis does not have another bun in the oven.

To be honest, I would not be surprised if JL did get pregs again … if not now, sometime in the future. After all, neither she nor Casey has really proven to be the sharpest tools in the shed. I really do think that Casey-Lynn needn’t spawn any further but … I guess time will tell if either of them learn safe sex practices.
