Earlier this week we got our FIRST LOOK at actress Jennifer Lawrence as she will look as Katniss Everdeen in the big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games and last night she started doing her first official promo appearances for the film. J. Law paid a visit to Access Hollywood to talk about her new role, revealing that she was a fan of the books before the movies were even talked about. The newly tattooed Vanessa Hudgens paid a visit to The Late Show with David Letterman to promote her new film Beastly. The less said about that atrocious movie, the better … so let’s move on. Vanessa was very excited to show off her new tattoo — a butterfly inked to the back of her neck — so, apparently, she chose to show it off on national television first for David Letterman.

On Monday, Betty White celebrated her 89th birthday but she didn’t get the party started until she made her way to NYC yesterday to really get down to celebratin’. Betty was joined by her Hot In Cleveland co-stars — Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malik — at Le Cirque in NYC, NY last night at a massive birthday fête thrown in her honor. BUT, before she partied with the ladies, Betty got liquored up with David Letterman on national TV on The Late Show with David Letterman.

The animated band Gorillaz made up of real-life artists Damon Albarn, Jamie Hewlett, et al paid a visit to the Edward Sullivan Theater in NYC, NY this week to perform on The Late Show with David Letterman:

The new season of Dexter FINALLY got underway last Sunday with the season 5 premiere of the show and this week lead actor Michael C. Hall is in NYC doing the rounds to promote the show. MCH paid a visit to The Ed Sullivan Theater last night to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman and homie rolled in to the venue rockin’ a very shiny, very stylish suit:

Unfortunately for us, we’re gonna hafta wait until Friday to see MCH on the show … I understand that he taped his appearance last night but it won’t air on the show until Friday. Altho, I understand that MCH will be appearing on other NYC-based talk shows thruout the week (I believe he’s on Live with Regis & Kelly today) so there should be plenty of appearances to keep us satisfied. I’ve been hearing from a few Pink readers how much they enjoyed the season 5 premiere ep My Bad and I know that the best is yet to come. IMHO, Dexter is THE best show on TV right now … hands down. And can I just say how happy I am to see Michael C. Hall doing so well health-wise? He looks fantastic! Set those DVRs, y’all … MCH will be on Letterman this coming Friday night.

US Soccer stud Landon Donovan, who did everything he could to keep the US Soccer Team alive in the 2010 World Cup, made his way back to the US to make an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. Letterman and Donovan made their way to the streets of NYC during the show to kick around the ol’ soccer ball, much to the delight of fans … Landon also shared with Dave his views on how things should be officiated at the World Cup in the future:

Landon Donovan told David Letterman soccer needs either more referees or video replay. The U.S. soccer star appeared on the “Late Show” on CBS on Tuesday night after returning from the World Cup, where the Americans won their group for the first time in 80 years. Team USA was the victim of officiating blunders that have plagued the tournament, as two Americans’ goals were disallowed. Donovan told Letterman “for us it’s difficult because we know how fast the game is, and as a referee, you can’t see everything.” Donovan said it’s frustrating “to put that much into something you’re doing and all of a sudden, it’s taken away from you.”

I 1000% agree that the way World Cup tournaments get refereed needs to be changed. There were so many bad calls in this World Cup alone that FIFA had to issue an apology for them. Despite all the crap calls that were made against the US team, our boys did a fantastic job. I’m so glad that Landon Donovan is getting the attention he deserves … tho, I fear it will be fleeting, at least here in the US. Enjoy it while you can, Lando!

Jake Gyllenhaal, whose new big budge action film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time opens in theaters this Friday, paid a visit to The Late Show with David Letterman last night. As you might expect, Jakey poo was lookin’ F-I-N-E as he made his way from his hotel to the Ed Sullivan Theater for last night’s appearance:

Sarah Jessica Parker, who was promoting her new movie Have You Heard About The Morgans?, was a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman last night and in addition to talking about The Morgans, she brought along a new photo of her newborn twins (born of a surrogate mother) Marion Loretta and Tabitha Hodge giving us our first look at the girls since we first saw them back in July:

Sarah Jessica Parker proudly showed off a photograph of her twin daughters on U.S. TV last night. In the first picture seen of the babies since they were a few days old, the six-month-old siblings Tabitha and Marion look curiously at the camera wearing pink and blue babygrows. Appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman, the Sex And The City star revealed the twins were developing incredibly different personalities. She said: ‘They are about as unidentical as twins can be. They will be six months at the end of this month and they are physically, intellectually, spiritually, geographically, politically, ideologically and religiously as different as two small six-month olds could be.’ Parker, who is married to actor Matthew Broderick, admitted their seven-year-old son James Wilkie had adjusted well to the new arrivals. She explained: ‘He’s been very hospitable and he’s amused by them occasionally. He’s annoyed by them sometimes but in fact I thought he’d forgotten about them – his world is pretty much his world which is most important.’ As Parker spoke about the joys of motherhood, she admitted she had been struggling to balance her busy workload with spending time with her twins Since surrogate mother Michelle Ross gave birth to the girls in an Ohio hospital in June, Parker has been splitting her time between her family and filming the Sex And The City sequel in New York and Morocco. In recent weeks, the actress has also been fulfilling heavy promotional duties for her new film Did You Hear About The Morgans? She said: ‘I’m probably faring as well as most working mothers in America and across the globe. Some days are absolutely triumphant. Other days you’ve basically let everybody down and you lie in bed and live in regret and plan the next day. Every day is Groundhog Day basically. I don’t feel like we have taken too much on though, because we always so wanted a larger family. It is such a blessing and we are so lucky and privileged.’ Earlier this month, she admitted she had regrets about taking on such a busy workload. She said: ‘It’s been very different than when James arrived, since our family expanded in an untraditional way. We didn’t plan on having two, but were doubly blessed, and it’s been just wonderful. One would prefer to be held 24 hours a day, and the other is already suffering from type A issues. It’s been amazing but complicated because of my current work schedule, which I have enormous regrets about.’
