Merry Mickey Xmas!!!
Celebs Team Up With Disney To Ring In The Holidays

Celebs like American Idol winner Kris Allen, The Jonas Brothers, Céline Dion, Mariah Carey‘s husband Nick Cannon and others were on hand to pre-tape live performances at Disney World this week for airing on TV on Xmas night. Here are a few pics of these celebs posing for fun pics at the Magic Kingdom this week and some deets about the upcoming TV special set to air on Xmas:

‘Tis the season to be merry at Disney Parks, when the 26th annual “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade,” featuring award-winning musical talent and iconic stars performing in this year’s television special, airs December 25 on ABC-TV. This year’s show promises to dazzle viewers with must-see performances by Celine Dion and Stevie Wonder. Pop sensations the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato spread joy to all as enchanting sounds from world-renowned musical artist Yanni and his Yanni Voices echo through the park. “American Idol” Season 8 winner, Kris Allen, will perform and “Wizards of Waverly Place” star Selena Gomez will make a special appearance in the annual telecast. From the newest Disney Princess – Tiana – to Mickey Mouse and all his ‘toon pals,’ beloved Disney characters will embrace the holiday spirit aboard awe-inspiring floats that “deck the halls” as they glide through the Disney theme parks. Two of television’s most popular celebrities will appear as the hosts of this year’s program. From the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida, popular morning show personality Kelly Ripa returns as host, doubling her duties while partner Regis Philbin recovers from recent surgery. At Disneyland Park in California, worldwide television and radio host Ryan Seacrest takes center stage for the West Coast festivities. Nick Cannon, from “America’s Got Talent” makes his “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” television debut as co-host/man-on-the-street for the telecast. The two-hour televised special will air nationally in High-definition December 25 on ABC-TV at 10 a.m. Eastern and 9 a.m. Central, Mountain and Pacific times.

Sounds cute, right? I love me some Disney family fun so this might be worth watchin’ but I actually prefer enjoying my Disney fun in person. Nothing takes the place of the fun you can have hanging out at Disneyland in person. Even so … I prolly won’t be able to resist watching Céline Dion bust out in seizures as she belts her those holiday tunes. I guess it might be fun to watch. Will you be tuning in for this?

Queen B takes home 3 awards, thanks hubby Jay-Z for "putting a ring on it"
The 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards Are Handed Out

MTV held its 16th annual Europe Music Awards in Berlin, Germany last night and brought out a host of musicians to appear, perform and/or collect awards. Beyoncé turned out to be the big winner at last night’s MTV EMAs but a whole bunch of other folks made their way to the event to celebrate a night of music achievement. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals last night:

But, as I mentioned above … the Queen B reigned supreme last night. Not only did she look fabulous on the red carpet but she also looked fabulous on the MTV EMAs performance stage … oh and she collected awards for Best Female, Best Song (Halo) and Best Video of the Year or her worldwide smash hit song Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It). After the jump, check out some photos from the EMAs stage and find out who else took home awards last night …

“We’re doing it because we love it, and we don’t care what age group we attract"
The Jonas Brothers Do ‘Rolling Stone’ Magazine

The brothers known as Jonas are featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine. Try as I might to ignore them, these young men have fully infiltrated pop culture (as evident from their latest magazine cover) and have even started mingling into the goss world (by way of youngest brother Nick‘s rekindled romance with Miley Cyrus, essentially making them the Justin and Britney of this new generation) and therefore are finally worth talking about … or at least mentioning. Whether or not they remain worthy of talking about on a daily basis for months and years to come remains to be seen. But, since they are the coverstory band on the new issue of Rolling Stone … well, here we go. Here is the Jonas Brothers coverphoto of the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine along with a portion of their coverstory interview:

If the Jonas Brothers‘ first moment on the cover of Rolling Stone found them reaching the height of teen pop stardom, their latest — on stands this week — finds them pushing for an even loftier goal: musical credibility. “I think we are working to make that trade without having to give anything up,” Kevin Jonas tells Rolling Stone in our cover story. “But I think it will take time, because of where we came from. I would honestly say to anybody, if you were in a band like us, you would take advantage of those platforms too. It’s easy for people to say, ‘No, I’m a real rock & roller,’ but I think you do what you’ve got to do.” Our Jenny Eliscu spent time with the brothers in Los Angeles as they prepared to hit the road in support of their most ambitious album yet, Lines, Vines and Trying Times. The album, the tour and much of what the band does these days seems designed to help facilitate the leap from teen pop to contemporary rock. It’s a challenging feat that few have pulled off. But the brothers are working hard on what they know will be a long, slow march to credibility. Eliscu found Nick on point as the band’s creative lead, putting their touring band through their paces (his brothers have started calling him “Mr. President”), while Kevin helps to steer the Jonas business and image (he even built a foam 3-D scale model of the band’s new stage set, which now takes 180 people to assemble at each show). “We have an operation around us that we run,” Kevin tells Rolling Stone. “It’s not run for us, or dictated to us. Everything that we do, we sign off on.” But even with a strong operation and a lot of hard work, the band knows that teen idols rarely make the leap to “serious artist.” “Personally, I’m not in the band to say, ‘Hey, you need to respect us, take us seriously,’ because that’s kind of stupid,” Joe tells RS. “We’re doing it because we love it, and we don’t care what age group we attract. If they like our music, they like our music, and if they don’t, fine. We don’t need you like our music.”

In the end, I really respect that these young guys have as much control over their careers as they do. They seem pretty grounded and are talented … whether you appreciate their music or not (which I don’t) you have to give them props for doing their thing to the best of their ability and enjoying much success from all of their hard work. Gone are the days when popstars are completely controlled and exploited by larger entities (for example, like Tiffany in the 1980′s who was a huge popstar that had no say about anything and ended up with NOTHING after her career was all said and done). These days, these millionaire tween stars have a lot of control over their careers … it’s pretty incredible. After the jump, check out a few photos from their RS photoshoot …

Leotard + High Heels = I have no words
Joe Jonas Performs ‘Single Ladies’ By Beyoncé

Try as I might, I cannot seem to avoid posting about the Jonas Brothers … well, the Jonas brotherJoe, in particular. Last month, I had to succumb and post a photo of middle Jonas brother Joe from his appearance in In Style magazine where the lad confessed that his celebrity crush is, of all people, Daniel Craig. Today, it would seem that Joe has outdone himself with his latest antics … in an effort to call attention to the fact that the Jonas Brothers are releasing a new album in a couple of weeks, Joe created a You Tube video wherein he performs a dance routine to Beyoncé‘s big hit song Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It). As you can see from these screencaps, Joe really dressed the part:

First the lad confesses to have a crush on Daniel Craig, then he shows us that he is a Beyoncé fan of the strongest magnitude … is he trying to tell us something? I mean … dancing around to Single Ladies is funny and cute and all … but to do so in a leotard and high heels seems to be taking things a bit far. But, you know what? More power to him!! You do your thang, Joe Jonas! Ain’t no shame in your game. After the jump, check out the video in full and judge for yourself …
