‘Bunny’ Tale

The TV Guide
Friday, August 22nd, 2008

I planned on making a point of seeing The House Bunny on opening day today but since a Veruca Salt show was announced for tonight at the last minute (and I really want to see VS live again), Darion suggested that we go to a midnight showing of the flick last night … and that is exactly what we did. D and I met up for a late night dinner and then were met by his friend Loy at the Arc Light in Sherman Oaks, CA to see The House Bunny:

Okay, seriously, the movie was very cute and very funny … if you enjoyed the movie trailers for this flick then you’ll prolly enjoy the movie very much. As you might expect, there is a lot of dumb humor … the jokes are easy ones but Anna Faris manages to use her charm to make the lame jokes funnier then they prolly should be. I must confess, tho, that I was so not impressed with Anna’s romantic interest in the movie played by Colin Hanks. For the life of me, I cannot understand why he was cast as the lead “hottie” in this film. He looks exactly like his father Tom Hanks who is nowhere near hottie material (plus he looks about 40 years older than he really is). Tyson Ritter, lead singer for All American Rejects, plays Emma Stone’s character’s love interest and does, I think, a better job. I wasn’t particularly impressed with Rumer Willis either but mebbe I was just looking for things to not like about her. Overall, tho, the story is a sweet one … but not really all that substantial. It’s deffo a fun movie if you’re up for a no-brainer. I will tell you this, Darion, Loy and I were cracking up the entire time:

Then again, it doesn’t really take much to keep us entertained ;)

Tonight, I’m meeting up with my friend Michael for dinner and then the late night rock show with Veruca Salt. Mebbe I’ll see you there?

‘The House Bunny’ Premieres In NYC

'CosmoGIRL!' sponsors a special screening
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Anna Faris was joined by her co-stars Emma Stone, Katharine McPhee and Rumer Willis at a NYC screening of their new movie The House Bunny (which was sponsored by CosmoGIRL! magazine) at the Hearst Tower last night … here are a few pics from the premiere screening’s red carpet:

I’ve already mentioned profusely how excited I am for this movie to come out … I’m deffo planning on getting my butt to the theater this Friday for opening night. I am encouraged that it stars Anna Faris (because she is insanely funny) and that the movie was written by the same person who wrote the screenplay for Legally Blonde (and we all know how that turned out). Emma Stone is another actress that doesn’t get enough love, I think. She’s also very funny and she has always reminded me of a mix between Anna Faris (in funniness) and Melissa Joan Hart (in looks). Having her in the movie only makes it more appealing. I dunno what to think about having an American Idol runner-up (McPhee) and Rumer Willis (no comment) in the flick but … still, it looks really funny. Oh and BTW, when did Anna Faris get so hot? She looks amazing.
