Last night, many months after the film debuted in theaters, David and I finally got around to watching the film The Help. Inspired by Octavia Spencer‘s Golden Globe win for Best Supporting Actress Sunday night, David and I decided that it was about time we watched the film to see what all the fuss is about (we had planned on watching The Artist but that movie got pushed back to a later date). I have to say, as difficult as it was to watch sometimes, I really enjoyed The Help overall. I can absolutely understand why Octavia Spencer won her award this week … and will likely win the Academy Award next month.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who became a new mommy to twin girls born from a surrogate mother earlier this Summer, was spotted in NYC in possession of a book called The Help. At first, I thought it might be a tome to help new moms learn how to deal with raising twin babies but it turns out that The Help is actually a novel which, according to a review by Entertainment Weekly, sounds like a pretty amazing read:

It’s nice to see that SJP has time to even read a book now that she’s got 3 children to care for. Her nanny, on the other hand, prolly doesn’t have time to sleep let along read a book.
