The ‘Hangover’ Dudes Are Invading The Golden Globes

The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards are airing LIVE this Sunday January 17 and yesterday we learned that celebs like Ashton Kutcher, Zoe Saldana, Kate Hudson and more will be presenting awards during the show. Today we learn that the cast of the hit comedy film The Hangover have also been secured to appear on stage during this Sunday night’s broadcast:

Expect a hangover at the Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which puts on the Globes, says the cast of the summer comedy “The Hangover” will serve as presenters at Sunday’s ceremony, along with Felicity Huffman, Helen Mirren and Samuel L. Jackson. Other presenters include Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Josh Brolin, Christina Aguilera, Colin Farrell, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jodie Foster, Mel Gibson, Sophia Loren and Cher. The 67th annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Ricky Gervais at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, will be broadcast live on NBC.

Yes, the Hangover guys enjoyed themselves quite a Summer last year so it makes sense that they would get invited to participate in the first BIG awards show of the season. I’m fairly certain the dudes will get all gussied up in swanky tuxedos and suits but I think it would be amazing if they wore something like this instead:

Actually, on second thought, I think I’d prefer seeing hottie Bradley Cooper in hot tux. Whatever the guys wear, I hope they bring the funny. It’d be incredibly lame if the cast of the biggest comedy of the year were forced to deliver some watered down jokes on stage.

What Happens In Vegas . . .

Yesterday afternoon, David and I made our way to the ArcLight in Hollywood, CA to see The Hangover after hearing so many good things about the flick. We decided to go to a movie at 5:30 in order to avoid the crush of people also vying for a chance to see this movie … we were happy to find the theater mostly empty. As far as comedies go, this one was pretty good … but I’m afraid it wasn’t nearly as hilarious as everyone seems to be saying:

Let me be clear … The Hangover is really funny but, again, it ain’t the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. The juvenile humor was pretty entertaining (tho, I can really do without the “faggot” jokes) and the crazy shizz that goes down was insanely entertaining but I was really annoyed that all the funny parts were prominently shown in the trailer for the film. There are a few funny gags that are not shown in the trailer but, I’m afraid, if you’ve seen the trailer then you’ve pretty much seen the film. I understand that The Hangover 2 is already in the works … so hardcore fans of the film have that to look forward to.

Next, David and I want to see Drag Me to Hell … which also has been getting ridiculously positive reviews. I hope that one lives up to the hype. BUT TONIGHT … I will be chillin’ with some good friends watching Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final rooting for my beloved Detroit Red Wings! They are only 1 game away from winning the Stanley Cup again!

Last year, the Red Wings defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in Pittsburgh to win the 2008 Stanley Cup, I’m really hoping for a repeat tonight!! Woot!!! I will pretty much be a wreck for the rest of the day … I’m really hopin’ for a happy outcome for the Wings :)

‘The Hangover’ Premieres In NYC

Stars of the new comedy The Hangover, including Bradley Cooper and Justin Bartha, were joined by a few celebrity friends at a screening event for their new movie at the Tribeca Grand Screening Room in NYC last night … an event that was hosted by Details magazine and The Cinema Society. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals last night:

I can’t even express how excited I am to see this movie, which opens in theaters TODAY. I’m not usually a sucker for the obvious comedy movie (you know, the ones that try too hard like anything Will Ferrell puts out) but from the first time I saw this movie trailer in theaters, I knew I wanted to see this flick. Yes it looks like it’s chock full of dumb humor (like those obvious movies I tend to hate) but there seems to be a bit of charm to this one. I continue to laugh out loud every time I see the commercials for this film … it’s bound to be a good time. Because of our traveling today and our commitments tomorrow night, I hoping to see this movie on Sunday. If any of y’all see The Hangover before I do, please let me know what you think. I’m hoping the movie will be as funny as the trailers make it seem.
