BritneySpears.com has been updated with our first look at the cover artwork for Britney‘s new single If U Seek Amy … behold:

To be completely honest, I am not at all impressed. They clearly decided to use an already released promo image for the single artwork … which is fine, I suppose, but considering the stuff we’ve seen from the set of the If U Seek Amy music video, I think they could’ve at least shot a new photo for use as the single’s artwork. Meh. No one buys singles anymore anyways so I guess it’s a moot point.

Additionally, the fan site BreatheHeavy.com has been updated with a bunch of costume sketches that are RUMORED to be from Britney‘s upcoming The Circus starring Britney Spears Tour:

BreatheHeavy.com was just sent what appears to be Britney’s tour outfit sketches, autographed by the artist. Kick ass!

It’s unclear if these sketches are the real deal or if they are merely fan created images. The sketches aren’t really that spectacular but the costumes are so … I figured they were worth passing along just in case they turn out to be genuine. BritneySpears.com has been updated with the news that Nine Inch Nails have been rehearsing for their upcoming tour in the same studio that Britney Spears has been rehearsing for her upcoming tour … and apparently, everyone has been cool with sharing the space with each other. Believe it or not, ’tis true. Here is the full scoop from Britney‘s official website on this seemingly odd pairing:

Trent Reznor of the Nine Inch Nails is speaking up about sharing a rehearsal facility with Britney while both prepare for their separate tours.

“I can hear the thumping low end of Britney Spears. It’s been a treat having them here the whole time we’ve been here.”

In response, Britney’s manager, Adam Leber, says “Brit has been sharing the same rehearsal space with NIN for the past few weeks and they are getting along famously. Maybe we should ask Trent Reznor to remix Circus?” What do you think, Trent? Up for the challenge?

OMG, this is like my DREAM come true. Nine Inch Nails AND Britney Spears workin’ on their upcoming tours in the same space … in close enough proximity where the seemingly unlikely possibility that in an alternate universe somewhere the two might collaborate in some way?!? I can’t even fathom such a wondrous occurrence to ever take place … but the mere thought that both concert tours are being hatched and practiced in the same place … it kinda, sorta boggles the mind. I suppose it’s possible that one might influence the other in some way … I guess we’ll know for sure when both Britney and NIN hit the road, individually, in the coming weeks. I would, like, die if TR actually deigned to remix a Britney Spears song … I’m pretty sure it would *never* happen but … I guess you never know. What do y’all think … is it possible?

Yesterday we learned the upsetting news that Britney Spears was on the verge of canceling her upcoming tour The Circus starring Britney Spears after negotiations with her ex-husband Kevin Federline fell apart and it was uncertain if her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James would be allowed to go on tour with her. Once K-Fed‘s lawyers caught wind of the talks, they stepped in and threatened to disallow Britney‘s request to let her sons go on the road with her … resulting in the threat that the whole tour could be called off. Today her official website, BritneySpears.com, has been updated with the good news that an agreement has been reached and her sons will be going on with with her:

Stage design plans are in for Virgin Mobile Presents the Circus Starring Britney Spears. And they prove that this isn’t going to be like any circus, or concert, you’ve seen before. According to tour designer Jamie King, “Britney and I are really excited to conceptualize her Circus tour. We’ve taken the idea of a traditional ‘big-top circus’ and given it a Britney Spears twist. This circus is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. It’s sexy, fun, explosive, and full of surprises. We wanted the stage to resemble the design of a three-ring circus where multiple acts can take place simultaneously.

This is really great news, I had a feeling a deal would be struck … as I mentioned yesterday, money talks. My guess is that the sweet deal K-Fed was offered yesterday by Britney and her father/conservator Jamie Spears got a bit sweeter after his lawyers go into the mix. Britney has always been willing to pay a premium for her children … I am just *thrilled* that the tour is officially out of jeopardy. The Circus starring Britney Spears will kick off in New Orleans, LA — as scheduled — exactly one month from today! Woot!!

Ruh roh! Big trubs in Britney Spearsland today … TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears is threatening to cancel her upcoming concert tour The Circus starring Britney Spears if her ex-husband Kevin Federline does not allow her to bring her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, on tour with her. According to TMZ, private negotiations between Britney, her father/conservator Jamie Spears and K-Fed fell apart after his lawyers caught wind of the talks and stepped in to muck everything up. If an agreement to allow her sons to tour with her is not reached, Britney vows (reportedly) to call off her entire tour:

Britney Spears will cancel her upcoming tour if K-Fed’s lawyers continue to block an agreement allowing her to take the kids on the road — informed sources tell [TMZ] … For weeks, Britney, K-Fed and Jamie Spears have been privately hashing out a plan to let the kids travel with Brit while she goes on tour. The plan is to have homes in three bases — New Jersey, New Orleans and Los Angeles. Sean Preston and Jayden James would stay in one of these three bases and mom would commute back and forth while doing concerts in each region … We’ve learned Britney will pay Kevin in excess of $4,000 a week for each week she’s on tour. The way the deal goes… Brit would get K-Fed his own pad in each of the three bases and he wouldn’t even have to show up to get the money! … Britney, K-Fed and Jamie worked out the arrangement without the help of any of the lawyers. We’re told a week ago K-Fed’s lawyers became aware of the plan and were furious, thinking Jamie went behind their backs. Sources tell us K-Fed’s lawyers have said they object to the plan but won’t specifically say why. And Kevin apparently doesn’t have the cojones to stand up to his lawyers. Britney WILL cancel the tour if she can’t take her kids… we know that for a fact. By the way, Britney now has close to 50/50 custody and the trio has also worked out a long-term agreement, which would extend the arrangement. That too, could be compromised.

AHHHHH! If Britney cancels her tour, for whatever reason, I will go seriously ballistic. To be honest, this is the exact reason I didn’t want to get to excited about a tour when the reports first started to come out about her possibly going on tour. I had a feeling that K-Fed might throw a wrench into plans for her to see her children while she is on the road, jeopardizing the entire enterprise before it even got underway. It’s very clear that Britney needs and wants to be with her children as much as possible, I suspect that quality time has much to do with her successful rehabilitation … for her to be parted from them for so long prolly seems incomprehensible to her at this point. In the end, money talks and I suspect that K-Fed will end up getting a big pay day to allow Britney to see her children. I hope and pray this tour happens … for pretty much everyone’s sanity.

We are just about 2 months away from the start of Britney Spears‘s new concert tour The Circus starring Britney Spears and fans the world over are starting to get antsy for new information. Accordingly, BritneySpears.com has been updated with a new photo from the tour rehearsals that shows Britney surrounded by her troupe of dancers … a tease for a batch of other new photos that are scheduled to be released later on today:

Along with this new photo, Britney‘s official website promises that “pictures from tour rehearsal are coming your way” and will be released today. From the looks of just this photo, it appears that tour prep is coming along nicely. It’s so great to see Britney lookin’ like her old self again. I have high hopes that The Circus starring Britney Spears will be a smash hit for her. I can’t wait to see it for myself.

Tour prep continues for Britney Spears this weekend as she and her mama Lynne Spears were spotted making their way into a rehearsal studio this weekend to continue work on her upcoming concert tour The Circus starring Britney Spears. As you may recall, earlier this week we saw a few insider photos of Britney engaged in dance rehearsals with her troop of dancers so we know that she’s been bizzy. BreatheHeavy.com is reporting that folks putting together Britney‘s tour are working to have Madonna make a guest appearance in the show much like Britney guested in Madonna‘s Sticky & Sweet World Tour last year. If true, this is the best tour spoiler that I’ve heard from Britney‘s upcoming tour yet. Here are a couple pics of Britney and Lynne as they made their way into the studio yesterday and the rumored information about Madonna‘s alleged appearance in Britney‘s show:

Britney and Madonna are doing an exclusive scene together! “It features the song ‘If U Seek Amy’, in which Madonna is the character ‘Amy’ and Britney is running after her. First there will be a video playing and then Britney will come out and sing and then, only in Los Angeles, Madonna will come out for the last part … It has been negotiated and confirmed. They are set to shoot it by February 10th. Britney has said she is ‘over exited to be coming back to the stage’ and gave her ideas for the sets of many numbers.”

While I really love this idea, I fear it’s too good to be true. Without some sort of confirmation (which should come at least by February 10, as this rumor suggests) I’m gonna hold off on believing this particular report. Even if Maddy doesn’t appear in video form during the show (even tho she should since Britney fans would eat that shizz up!), I really do hope that she makes an appearance on stage with Britney here in LA. Britney was kind enough to make the cameo for Madonna, hopefully she’ll do the same. In any regard, work continues on tour prep … with Madonna or not, the show sounds like it’s going to be amazing. In just about two moths, Britney Spears is gonna show us what she’s got. I can’t wait.

Previously, the site had released dance rehearsal photos taken in dance studios but these are the first photos that show Britney and her dancers rehearsing with actual stage props that will be seen on the tour … check ‘em out:

Here is your first sneak peek at The Circus Starring Britney Spears, taken at tour rehearsal on Monday night. In this gallery, you can see Britney working with contributing choreographer JaQuel Knight as well as Jose, the Womanizer from the European tour. Britney (and her abs — damn!) is wearing Lisa Kline J’aime Drawsting Pants which benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation. Sadly, they don’t make these pants anymore, but there is a lot of cute Pink Ribbon Gear on the Komen Foundation site if you want to get Britney’s look and support Breast Cancer research.

So now we know what has been keepin’ Brit Brit bizzy in recent weeks … except for her emergence earlier this week, Britney has stayed relatively out of sight, most likely, because of all the work she’s been doing on her tour rehearsals. Is anyone really surprised that there is a stripper pole of sorts featured in the staging of her new tour? It hearkens back to the Gimme More music video, no? Seeing these photos is really exciting … and drives home the fact that her new tour starts up in just two months! While I am very anxious to see her live on stage, I really hope she is able to get all the prep done in time for the big tour launch. Will she be ready? I really, really hope so.

Even tho Britney is scheduled to appear in some fashion on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week(end?) and has been all but confirmed to appear at the Xmas tree lighting at the LA Live! complex in downtown LA tonight, she managed to find the time to spend a bit more time in Manhattan yesterday afternoon before bidding farewell to the Big Apple:

Late yesterday evening the music video for her new single Circus leaked onto the Internets days before it was to make its world premiere on Entertainment Tonight. As a result, ET has announced that a Director’s Cut version of the video will be premiering on their show TONIGHT in HD one day earlier than was originally planned. I can’t wait to see how much better that vid is than the one we’ve already been able to see. Happy Britney Day, y’all! There is a lot of fun new Britney Spears info to impart today so I’m gonna try to get it all up as soon as I can. David and I just got back from the Big Apple Circus Big Tent in Lincoln Center here in NYC where we got to see Britney Spears perform live on Good Morning America — but I’ll get to that a bit later on. First up, the really big news of the day … Britney Spears is going on tour! Just this morning, BritneySpears.com announced a whole slew of US tour dates that will begin next March … with presales in some cities already underway:

BRITNEY SPEARS has announced that she will make her highly anticipated return to stage with THE CIRCUS STARRING BRITNEY SPEARS 2009 TOUR, her first arena tour in five years, produced by AEG Live. Following hot on the heels of the December 2nd, 2008 release of her long-awaited sixth studio album, Circus, Spears will begin rehearsing for her incredible tour production this January with famed director and Emmy-winning choreographer Wade Robson, before launching the 27-city North American trek on March 3, 2009 in New Orleans with special guests The Pussycat Dolls.
