‘The Circus Starring Britney Spears’ Ends Its US Run

Britney Spears ended the second leg of her North American tour, The Circus starring Britney Spears, at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV last night and by all accounts the entire tour (which took her to Europe earlier this year and will take her to Australia later this year) has been a smashing success. Before Brit Brit took to the state for one last time (here in the US), she loaded up her men (sons – Sean Preson and Jayden James, father – Jamie Spears and rumored paramour and agent – Jason Trawick) and made her way to the Sugar Factory boutique to load up on candy for her kiddies … here are a few pics:

Aww … such a cute family. I’m not sure if I totally believe the rumors that Jason and Britney aren’t together together … but I still contend they make a very nice family when they are all together. Britney posted a tweet on her official Twitter profile mentioning that her BFF Lance Bass showed up to be part of her show, she wrote:

LOL!! How fun!! Well … at least now that the US portion of the tour is over, Britney can relax for a while. She’s not due to take the tour to Oz until November. I think we should all send a hearty congrats to our dear Britney for successfully working her way thru a very entertaining tour. Well done, Britney!!

Britney Spears Gives Away Free Tickets To Sweaty Fans

Britney Spears, who performed at the Staples Center here in downtown LA last night, made a quick appearance at the Hollywood and Highland Complex yesterday to hand over a couple of free tickets to her concert The Circus starring Britney Spears to a couple of lucky fans who followed her tweet clues. Britney has been personally giving away tickets to her shows via Twitter (the first pair of tix she gave away were handed out in Times Square, NYC last month) and yesterday she gave away the latest pair … to a couple of very sweaty fans … in the presence of a scary-ass clown:

Britney will perform shows in San Diego, CA and Las Vegas, NV later on this week so folks in those cities might want to follow her Twitter account HERE to see if she will be giving away tickets to those performances as well. Britney Spears Covers Alanis Morissette In Concert

Britney Spears, who is currently on the second leg of her North American tour The Circus starring Britney Spears, busted out a surprise performance in Greensboro, NC last night. In addition to her normal setlist, Britney interjected a LIVE performance of the Alanis Morissette hit You Oughta Know:

It’s unclear if this new number is going to be repeated at future concert stops or if it was a one-time-only special performance. I understand they had problems with the rigging equipment and Britney was not able to make her usual entrance to the stage by descending from the rafters, nor was she able to fly on her huge umbrella to perform Everytime. I added a few videos so that you could see/hear Britney’s performance from different angles/perspectives. She sounds amazing and what a great song. Do you suppose she decided to do this song as a shout-out to THIS person? I really hope this was not a one time occurrence, I would love for our dear Britney to perform new/different cover songs at upcoming shows. It occurs to me that Britney may record this song for inclusion on her upcoming singles collection CD. She recorded Bobby Brown’s My Prerogative for her last greatest hits album, covering Alanis on her new collection makes total sense. What songs do you think Britney should cover in concert?

Britney Spears Personally Gives Away Concert Tickets On Twitter

Britney Spears, who kicked off a 3-night engagement at Madison Square Garden here in NYC last night with a performance of her show The Circus starring Britney Spears, made a special appearance in Times Square yesterday afternoon to personally deliver a pair of ringside tickets to a pair of lucky fans who follow her on Twitter. All day long yesterday, Britney tweeted clues to the location of a pair of hidden tickets and two adept fans found the hiding place to win the tickets … which were personally delivered by Brit Brit herself:

As you can see, Brit was accompanied by her assistant Brett Miller and her manager Larry Rudolph … also, you can see that the lucky fans not only won a pair of tickets to last night’s show but they also each won a bottle of Britney’s newest fragrance Circus Fantasy by Britney Spears — isn’t that exciting? Having seen the show 3 times on the 1st leg of The Circus starring Britney Spears, I don’t think I need to see it again but I can appreciate that so many more people who weren’t able to attend a show the first time around are able to see the show this time around. I suspect one of the shows will be recorded for release on DVD, perhaps one of the MSG shows here in NYC? Do your thang, Britney!

BritneySpears.com has been updated with a new gallery of photos that feature Britney Spears and her dancers taking a break from rehearsing a new musical number for an as-yet-unannounced song that will be debuted when Britney takes her concert tour The Circus starring Britney Spears back on the road in Europe next month. Clearly we cannot tell at all what song they were rehearsing for … all these pics show is Britney hanging out with her dancers flashing peace signs. Even still, it’s encouraging that Brit Brit continues to change up her tour so that folks who are seeing it fresh will deffo get their own unique experience of the show. As you may recall, Britney announced that she will be bringing The Circus back to the US for another round of dates in September and those tickets have just gone on sale. Woot!! First we learn that Britney is really dating her hottie agent Jason Trawick and now we learn that she is coming back to the US to tour one more time around. Things are going very well for our dear Britney these days. I’m not sure if I’ll need to see the show again (after all, I did see it 3 times the first time around) but I’ll wait until we hear more about this second North American leg of the tour to make a determination. I’m curious to find out who will be opening up for her on this second leg and I’m really hoping she’ll change up the setlist a little bit. My gut tells me the show will not change that much so … I might take a pass. But, for those of you who missed seeing the show before — you now have another chance to see it. It’s deffo worth seeing … I loved the show! I think you will, too.

I’m actually very surprised that this will be the first time that our dear Britney has toured Australia. I’m sure the Aussies are very excited that she is finally heading their way. After enjoying a few weeks off since ending the first leg of her concert tour, Britney Spears brought The Circus starring Britney Spears to London’s O2 Arena for the first of 8 shows to kick off the second leg of her tour. By pretty much all accounts, Britney’s return to the stage has thrilled the folks in the UK as the following review by Adrian Thrills from The Daily Mail makes certain. Here are a few pics from Britney’s performance in London last night:

Her life has often appeared to be something of a freak show, but Britney Spears put her troubles behind her last night as she opened her European tour with a wonderfully theatrical concert with a Big Top theme. Billed as The Circus Starring Britney Spears, it was a relentlessly high octane and superbly choreographed affair that delighted 23,000 fans. The 27-year-old superstar’s fortunes had appeared to be on the wane two years ago, with her singing career increasingly overshadowed by a messy divorce, a stint in rehab and a custody battle for her two young children. But, musically at least, things have since looked up dramatically. With her affairs now handled by her father the singer’s last two albums, Blackout and Circus, have re-established her credentials. Moving away from the bubblegum tunes of her teen years, the Louisiana-born singer has skilfully repositioned herself as a grown-up diva who leans heavily towards electronic dance music and modern R&B. This show, the first of eight in London and one in Manchester, capped what has been a remarkable comeback. Presented in the round, with three circular stages positioned amid flashing lights in the middle of the arena, it afforded every member of the largely female audience an excellent view of proceedings. It was certainly a vast improvement on 2004’s Onyx Hotel tour. The opening salvo focused heavily on songs from Blackout and Circus … Dressed as a ringmaster in a black top hat and red tails the singer made a grand entrance, descending into the hall from above, suspended in a harness. She then sang the title track from Circus before launching into another recent hit, Piece of Me. For this song, a bikini-clad Britney was paraded around the three stages while gyrating in a gilded cage – a metaphor, surely, for a life lived in the spotlight. Surrounded by scantily-clad dancers, a blonde Britney looked trimmer than of late as she lifted the audience out of their seats dancing to her third song, Womanizer. The show, which took some inspiration from recent tours by Madonna, placed visual values on a par with musical content although the majority of the fans seemed more than happy with this. Britney might possess a breathless, raspy voice with an appealing Southern twang on record, but she has never been one of pop’s more stunning singers on stage. Her dance moves, too, were so energetic that it was sometimes difficult to assess whether all of her vocals were fully live. But those dance moves were mostly brilliantly realised: one song, Boys, featured her interacting with a troupe of MBX cyclists; another, Me Against the Music, boasted a thrilling Arabian Nights theme. While the show concentrated predominantly on recent hits there was room at the end of the show for old favourites Toxic and Baby One More Time. Only the foolhardy would predict that Spears’ offstage problems have all been consigned to history. But on the evidence of the spectacular witnessed in Docklands last night she is currently staging one of pop’s most remarkable comebacks. Seemingly against the odds, Britney has done it again.

At last, the folks in Great Britain were finally able to learn what we, here in the US, have known for a few months now — Britney Spears is back, bitches!! Having seen the show myself in LA, Anaheim and Chicago, I know what the folks in London were able to enjoy last night … it sounds like the changes made to the show from the first leg of the tour went off without a hitch (Brit herself tweeted that she is happy with the changes) and afforded the British audience their own unique experience at The Circus. I continue to beam with pride that Britney has been able to soldier on with this tour and has been able to keep kickin’ ass. I hope the folks in the UK enjoy the next 7 shows and that the rest of Europe who is lucky enough to see her on tour will enjoy as well. I’m pretty sure this tour will go down as one of Britney’s most successful. And she deserves all the credit in the world.

Britney Spears Brings Her ‘Circus’ To Chicago, IL

Sadly, today is our last day in Chicago, IL as David and I are scheduled to fly back to SoCal in a couple of hours. We have had the best time here and while our stay was far too short, I think David got a good sense of how amazing this city is so we will deffo be back. Yesterday was a nice relaxing day for us … we stayed near our temporary home away from home The Hard Rock Hotel Chicago and had THE most sumptuous dinner at the China Grill. On the advice of our server, we tried a multi-course meal that was so full of deliciousness that I can’t even fully convey how tasty everything was. Each course was more tasty that the previous one … it was truly a great meal. I cannot recommend China Grill more … if you are in the city and have yet to eat here, YOU MUST. It’s really fantastic. Here are a few photos from our stay here in Chicago …

Much love goes out to our friends Joe, Lea, Shea, Sarah and Mark for making our visit to Chicago extra special and much love and many thanks goes out to John and his entire staff here at the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. We were made to feel so welcome at every turn … this was my second stay at the Hard Rock and the service just keeps getting better. Perfect location, great amenities and a great staff make this place my fave! I hope we are able to come back soon. David and I just love it here :)

But, lest you forget, last night David and I were able to see Britney Spears for the third and final time. Brit Brit played the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL and put on another fantastic show. After the jump, check out some of my photos from last night’s show …

Once again, Britney was high-energy and there were no malfunctions to speak of … she put on an amazing show, which was the perfect way for David and me to end our run. The Chicago crowd last night was really raucous, really givin’ the love … it was a very fun show. After the party was over, David and I made our way to Spin in Boy’s Town for a nightcap (or two). The club was playing Britney Spears videos all night long …. twas really fun. I have to give a shout out to Pink readers David (pictured below), Ken, Zach, Kyle, Joey, Sam, Heather and Amanda …

… it was my pleasure meeting you all :)

And so … alas … our time here in Chicago has come to an end. While the weather was not ideal, the people more than made up for the wide range of wet/dry/hot/coldness thruout our stay. Britney Spears Brings Her ‘Circus’ To Anaheim, CA

Last night David and I made the trek down to Anaheim, CA for our second of three Britney Spears concerts which she performed at the Honda Center. I was very happy to see that Britney’s energy level was just as high last night as it was in LA when we first saw her on Thursday:

I really enjoyed the show for the second time mainly because since we already saw the show, we weren’t really worried about missing anything. This time around, we ate and drank at our leisure because we knew when we needed to be in position for the show. I managed to get a lot more close-up photos this time around … I knew where Britney would be at different parts of the show so … yeah, twas fun. Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray (and Extra! TV) was brought on stage as for the audience participation part of the show … yeah, it wasn’t that exciting. I think it would’ve been cooler if they brought up a regular fan. I got to meet Pink reader Elmer at the show last night and we go to take a pic, it was my pleasure to meet him. David and I will be making our way to Chicago, IL next weekend to meet up with my friends Sarah and Mark and to see our third and final Britney Spears show. Woot!!

It’s hot here, y’all … not sure what’s on tap for the day … mebbe staying in with the air conditioning?
