Tori Spelling Releases Her 2nd Book, ‘Mommywood’

Also makes her long-awaited return to '90210'
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

When Tori Spelling isn’t feuding in public with her estranged mother Candy Spelling, she is bizzy throwing book release parties … like she did in LA last night in celebration of the release of her second book Mommywood. As you may recall, we got our first look at the cover artwork for Mommywood back in February but today is the day that the book is available for purchase. Here are a few photos from Tori’s book release party last night:

Tori Spelling revealed a dramatically thinner look at the launch of her new book in Hollywood last night. But the actress who has lost even more weight since the birth of her baby last year appeared to be having trouble holding up the weighty tome. Tori arrived with husband Dean McDermott, son Liam, 2, and baby daughter Stella, 10 months. Dressed in an emerald green babydoll dress, the 35-year-old cut a rather sinewy figure compared to the healthier look she unveiled back in January when she unveiled her post-baby body. The mother of two, who gave birth to Stella in June, has returned to the programme that made her name, Beverly Hills 90210 playing Donna Martin, the same character she played on late father Aaron Spelling’s original TV show.

YES! In addition to the release of Tori’s second book, today is also the day that Tori returns as Donna Martin on tonight’s new episode of 90210. After many months of hemming and hawing (and unsuccessful attempts to work out a financial deal that satisfied everyone), Tori reprises the role that made her famous in tonight’s new ep. While I’m sure that many folks are excited to have a new book to read from Tori Spelling (like my friend Mike, who I’m sure has already ran out to buy his copy), I’m more excited about seeing Tori on 90210 tonight. Because David and I will be flying back to LA on JetBlue, we will be able to watch the show when it airs on The CW tonight. Woot!! Are any of y’all excited for this book or are you more amped about Donna Martin’s return to 90210?

Tori Spelling Makes Her ‘Potty Dance’ Debut

Tries to make the 'pee-pee' dance happen
Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Tori Spelling, who will be making her long-awaited return to the world of 90210 this April, was on hand at the Helen Mills Theater in NYC today to play celebrity host at the Pull-Ups brand Potty Dance Party … which is an event that pairs parents and their toddlers at a dance event that is meant to help children learn potty training by congratulating them with their own Potty Dance Party … or something to that effect. Here are a few photos of Tori with her children Liam and Stella at today’s event along with information about this odd affair:

This year, nearly six million parents will begin potty training their toddlers, an exciting and sometimes intimidating milestone for many — and celebrity mom of two Tori Spelling, star of the reality series “Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood” is no exception. To celebrate her almost 2-year-old son Liam’s potty training debut, and help families across the country say farewell to diapers, Tori has teamed up with Pull-Ups training pants to groove to the Potty Dance — the new toddler dance craze introduced by the Pull-Ups brand — to help motivate her son to success. “Liam is growing up so fast, including his growing interest in the potty,” said Spelling. “While as a mom it’s bittersweet to watch my little boy grow up, we want to applaud this big moment with an activity he’s already crazy for — dancing. I’ve partnered with the Pull-Ups brand to kick-off Liam’s potty training with a celebration I know he will love, and an activity I know will keep me positive, the Potty Dance.” Spelling [introduced] the Potty Dance to eager-to-boogie parents and toddlers at the Pull-Ups brand Potty Dance Party, a parent-tot dance bash held today from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Helen Mills Theater in New York City. Ready-to-celebrate families, and their ready-to-potty train tots, [were] invited to be among the first to learn the catchy Potty Dance moves and help congratulate their tots on becoming a Big Kid. Along with learning the dance, parents can discover other potty training resources, have a personal consultation with a Pull-Ups brand parenting expert and participate in fun activities — all designed to grow excitement around potty training for toddlers. “We know children need to be recognized for their success during potty training, which is the reason we created the Pull-Ups brand Potty Dance,” said Bob Thibault, President, Kimberly-Clark North American Personal Care. “We are thrilled to partner with Tori, a celebrity mom who remains hands-on as she openly encounters the daily adventures and realities of motherhood, to encourage parents to embrace potty training with their children.” The Pull-Ups brand recognizes parents can often be overwhelmed or unmotivated about potty training — even celebrity moms. The Potty Dance is designed to encourage and support tots during any stage of the potty training process by celebrating their achievements towards becoming a Big Kid. The step-by-step moves are easy for kids (and parents) to learn, so families can break into the dance no matter what potty training step they are on or milestone they have reached.

You know, a paying gig is a paying gig. Until Tori actually appears on TV again as Donna Martin, I suspect that the big endorsement deals will be few and far between … in these trying economic times, can we really fault her participating in an event like this? She does have the cute kids to work with … it’s not a totally bad idea. I may not have a toddler of my own and I may be fully potty trained (I swear) but if I were given the opportunity to watch Tori Spelling do the crossed legs, hopping back and forth I Gotta Pee dance I’d SO be there. Be honest … wouldn’t YOU be there, too? :)

Meet Stella Doreen McDermott

She's an 'OK!' kid
Friday, July 4th, 2008

There’s been a lot of buzz going around this week surrounding the new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off TV series that is set to debut on The CW this Fall. Once the first rumblings started up that Shannen Doherty would be reprising her role as Brenda Walsh on the show things hit a fever pitch as excitement over the show took off. Then we got our first look at what the newly remodeled Peach Pit diner will look like and, well, it’s been a crazy week for fans of BH, 90210. We know that Tori Spelling will also be reprising her role as Donna Martin on the new 90210 but it was announced that her debut on the show would be pushed back into the season due to her recuperation period caused by the recent birth of her baby Stella. And so, let’s take a closer look at the little doll who may be effing with Tori’s career plans but is still cute as a button in her very first OK! magazine photospread:

Almost one year to the day their son Liam was born, Tori Spelling and hubby Dean McDermott got the surprise of their lives when they discovered they were expecting baby number two! Even more exciting, the couple … found out they were having a little girl, something that Tori says she thought she would never experience. Now the couple is talking only to OK! with an exclusive interview about their joyful journey. “She’s a miracle,” Spelling tells OK!. “I was on one pill and wasn’t feeling well, so I went off of it. Two days later, the doctor put me on another, and on that one day, we conceived. It was meant to be!” As OK! exclusively reported, the couple welcomed daughter Stella Doreen into the world on June 9. The infant weighed in at a dainty 6 lbs. 11 oz. and had a full head of beautiful black hair. “My first thought was, ‘My god, she’s so beautiful,’” Tori gushes. “My second thought was, ‘Oh my god, she has black hair! Where did that come from?’ [laughs] Liam has blonde hair and is very fair. She was born with black hair, very tan.” Tori continues, “I never thought I’d have a daughter. Dean’s first child [Jack] is a boy and then we had Liam and I thought, ‘Because I’m so girly-girly, I’ll have all boys.’ ” Dean agrees, adding, “When I saw Stella for the first time, I just bawled my face off out of pure joy. I’ve always heard that there’s nothing like that bond between father and daughter. There is nothing like it — you feel it that moment. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Little boys are awesome. They’re just like a little you. But having a little girl is something else. As a man, you just lose it.”

AWWW … they do make a cute little family (tho, it’s interesting about that baby girl being born with dark hair … HMMM). While I’m not at all interested in any of the reality shows that Tori and Dean have got going on on Oxygen, I am very excited about Tori’s return to 90210. I am very intrigued by what they are going to do with her character … will Brian Austin Green be reprising his role as David Silver, Donna Martin’s main man? Of all of the BH, 90210 men, he’s the one I see most prolly making a return to the show (who knows if Luke Perry, Jason Priestley or Ian Ziering were even asked?). In any event, I hope that Tori enjoys her recuperation time with her newborn daughter Stella … and that she gets back to work soon, this 90210 thing is a priority!
