Star magazine reports that Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and failed Christian/Pop/Country singer Jessica Simpson (who started hanging out last month) are not only still going strong but are threatening to make music together. Oh the horror! To accompany this absolutely disconcerting news, Star provides a couple of photos of The Odd Couple lookin’ all cozy together in the recording studio photographed by Kristin Burns. Forget 2012, the musical union of Jessica Simpson and Billy Corgan could really be the end of the world as we know it:

Despite reports that Jessica Simpson and Billy Corgan have called it quits, they’re still together — in the recording studio at least. And in new photos of the duo, the look of love is still in Jessica’s eyes. Jessica accompanied the Smashing Pumpkins singer to the studio earlier this week – he’s working on his band’s eight studio album, Teargarden By Kaleidyscope – and several photos of them together have made it to Twitter. In a photo posted by Billy’s producer and record label partner Kerry Brown, Jessica — dressed casually in jeans and a hoodie — looks up at Billy as he’s balancing a guitar overhead. In another, posted by the photographer, Jessica has her eyes locked on the musician as he plays, looking at him with a look of admiration and displaying a smile. According to reports, Jessica and Billy – who started spending time together in December — ended their relationship due largely to religious differences. Billy, who founded the interfaith Web site Everthingfromheretothere.com, thought the former pastor’s daughter seemed uninterested in spiritually. Now Jessica has retweeted one of the studio photos of her with Billy and added the message: “I am blessed.” Another photo of Jessica featured the caption: “Fun to be lost in laughter.” Are they or aren’t they? It seems they’re still figuring it out – slowly. “She wants to play her cards right this time,” a source close to the unlucky in love celeb told Star.

Seriously, WTF?! This union is absolutely the strangest thing I’ve ever heard of … ever. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine how Billy Corgan would want to collaborate musically with Jessica Simpson. I mean, I’m not a big fan of Corgan’s music (at least, not for many, many years) but the man is talented … any affiliation with Simpson would be … idiotic. The new coverphoto of this week’s issue of Star magazine has been revealed today and the headline reads: Britney Getting Married! According to the mag, Britney is planning to get hitched to her agent Jason Trawick. Could a walk down the aisle really be in the works for Britwick?

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again! In the June 29 issue of Star, we exclusively report that after two failed marriages — one that last only 55 hours! — Britney Spears is preparing to walk down the aisle again, this time with her agent turned lover, Jason Trawick. After more than three years of casual hookups, Brit and Jason took their relationship to the next level while they were on vacation in the Bahamas last month. That’s when Brit and Jason shared a special night together during which Jason popped the question! “He didn’t exactly get down on one knee, but Brit didn’t care. She said yes, and they opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate,” says an insider. “Jason held Britney for a long time and kissed her cheeks. They talked about their future for hours and didn’t go to sleep until after 3 a.m.! They just wanted to be alone together.” Britney is already thinking about a December wedding — after her Circus world tour wraps this fall — and wants her big day to far outclass her previous ceremonies. For her first nuptials, to childhood friend Jason Alexander, her outfit consisted of a baseball cap and cutoffs! And she feels her wedding to Kevin Federline was a”trashy” affair. “When she marries Jason, she wants it to be like a fairy tale,” says a friend.

Well … before we break out the bubbly and start offering our congrats, there is more to this story. US Weekly contends that according to a “source” of their own, the Star report of Britwick’s upcoming nuptials are completely untrue:

Britney Spears is not engaged to her longtime agent Jason Trawick, a source close to the singer tells Usmagazine.com. “This is absolutely not true,” the source tells Us. “Britney is not engaged” … Her rep could not be reached for comment.

Not that I put much stock in either report but … my gut tells me that our dear Britney prolly is not engaged. Until we hear an announcement from her directly, I’m gonna hold off on buying my wedding gifts for the couple. That being said, I would love it if Britney got married to Jason Trawick … I think they would make an absolutely adorable little family. What do y’all think … engaged or not?

Say it ain’t so! Over the weekend, rumors began to swirl that Paris Hilton was spied canoodling with her ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos in Miami Beach, FL and now Star magazine is reporting that she and current boyfriend Benji Madden have called it quits. The mag is claiming that Paris gave Benji the heave-ho … according to Star, they’re dunzo, y’all:

It’s splitsville for Paris Hilton and Benji Madden. Days after Paris was “all over” her ex Stavros Niarchos, the heiress dropped the Good Charlotte rocker like a bad habit, telling him he was “too controlling” and that she needed her freedom back, a source tells Star exclusively. Shortly after their breakup, which took place on Nov. 17, Paris let her hair down at Villa nightclub, where she partied with her sister, Nicky, and Nicky’s boyfriend David Katzenberg. The following night she was also without Benji when she hit the hot spot Apple Paris. “Paris was fed up with Benji always telling her what to do and bossing her around,” says the insider. “She couldn’t take his overbearing ways anymore. It was stressing her out. He can be very aggressive and he was just too much trouble.” Benji didn’t take the breakup well, says the source. “He fought for a second chance and asked if they could talk it out but Paris said she was done talking,” reveals the insider. The demise of Paris and Benji’s relationship, after nine months of dating, didn’t happen overnight. “They’ve had “a lot of fights in the past,” says the source. The nail in the coffin was a showdown over Paris’ flirty night out with her ex-boyfriend Stavros on Saturday. “Benji didn’t like it that she spent the evening with Stavros,” says the source. “He blew up and Paris felt victimized. He gave her a lot of grief about that.” They bottom line is that they were just different people. “She felt she couldn’t cut loose and party,” says the source. “He doesn’t drink and doesn’t think she should either. She felt too fenced in.”

HMMM. It would make sense under normal circumstances that Paris would be ready to move on with a new boyfriend (considering that she doesn’t seem to stay attached to anyone person for long) but Benji is such a great guy, she would have to be utterly and completely INSANE to think she could do better. I’m not entirely convinced by this Star magazine report but, as I said, it’s entirely feasible that it could be true. What do y’all think … could Paris and Benji really be dunzo for good?

UPDATE: Life & Style is also reporting the dunzoness of Paris and Benji — tho their report denies that Paris hooked up with Stavros, quoting an “insider” who claims that the break-up reports are true:

It’s all over between Paris Hilton and boyfriend Benji Madden, Life & Style can officially report. “Sadly, it’s true,” Vanessa Fontana, a contestant on Paris’ BFF show, confirms exclusively to Life & Style. “Paris and Benji have split. I love Paris, and I just want her to be happy. I think that they’ll be better as friends.” Vanessa disputed rumors that the split had anything to do with Paris’ brief reunion with ex Stavros Niarchos this past weekend in Miami. “No, nobody else is involved,” she says. “Paris and Benji were loyal and faithful to each other. I was with Paris in Miami, and Stavros came over to our table, and the two of them talked for literally two minutes. It was a friendly conversation. They definitely did not hook up.” Sources say the breakup is due to the basic differences in the couple: Benji is a quiet homebody, while Paris is very social, both personally and professionally. And in recent weeks, the strain was beginning to show. “All of Paris’ friends have noticed that she hasn’t been happy lately,” says a friend. “Benji told Paris he didn’t like the BFFs from her show, and that he disapproves of her friends and doesn’t get along with her sister.” Their work schedules have not helped: Paris regularly travels the world, and is booked with back-to-back projects for the next 12 months, while Benji is currently in the recording studio working on a new Good Charlotte album with his twin, Joel. Paris is said to be devastated by the breakup. “She wishes it could be different,” says the friend. “Benji always treated her like his princess. He’s a really great guy with a big heart and she loves him very much. Maybe at some point in the future, the two of them could try again, but right now, they’re just too different as people.”

I’m still waiting for official confirmation but … it looks like they may really be dunzo for good.

Star magazine is reporting that Sarah Jessica Parker’s hubby Matthew Broderick was caught cheating and has, as a result, endangered his marriage to SJP. Since this issue of the magazine hit the newsstands, StarMagazine.com has been offline and completely inaccessible. HMMM … could the magazine have gotten the story wrong and subsequently got themselves in a heap o’ trubs? In any event, here is the magazine cover making its bold claims and some deets from the Star magazine coverstory:

Sarah Jessica Parker’s 11 year marriage to Matthew Broderick has been hit by claims he had an affair with a 25-year-old youth worker. American magazine Star alleges the actor had a liaison with the unnamed woman from November to February while Sarah was shooting the big screen film, Sex And The City. Broderick’s spokesperson Simon Hall didn’t deny the allegations, telling the magazine instead: “There will be no comment.” The publication reports the pair met in a Manhattan bar last November and later he was allegedly seen heading to the woman’s apartment carrying wine and flowers. It claims Broderick, 46, told the brunette his relationship with Parker, 43, was “not good”. Parker, who has a five-year-old son, James Wilkie, with the star, has previously admitted that their marriage is tumultuous at times. In an April interview she said, “I’m really lucky that he is the father of my son, but that doesn’t mean that we always agree on everything. We’ve had some rather treacherous train rides. I’m happy to be with him regardless but I’m sure there are many times he wishes he wasn’t with me.”

I managed to sneak a peek at this issue of Star magazine and was surprised to find out that they were able to publish an actual photo of the alleged mistress that Matthew supposedly cheated with. After the jump, check out her photo …

Since In Touch Weekly managed to get the scoop on the birth of the Brangelina twins, Vivienne Marcheline & Knox Leon, and since it is believed that People magazine (or possibly OK! magazine) purchased the rights to the first photos of the twins, there ain’t much left for the other mags to utilize for their publications … which is why Star magazine put the first born child to spring from Angelina Jolie’s loins on the cover of this week’s issue. I gotta say, they managed to come up with the freakiest photo of Shiloh Nouvel yet … check it out:

She’s a big sister now! And Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was on her best — and sweetest — behavior when she was introduced to her new twin siblings the day after their emotional delivery on July 12. As her weary parents, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, beamed with pride, the wide-eyed 2-year-old greeted tiny brother Knox Leon and sister Vivienne Marcheline with smiles and kisses. “They weren’t planning on having Shiloh see Angie and the babies so soon, but she couldn’t sleep or eat until she saw her Mommy,” an insider tells Star. As Angie, 33, held the newborns, Shiloh first stared then smiled. She was put on the bed next to them and kissed them on the forehead.

Yeah, yeah … cute story but what is up with this picture of Shiloh? She doesn’t look real … in fact, she looks a lot like the American Girl doll Kit Kittredge. I hope it’s just a matter of heavy Photoshopping … cuz Shiloh really does look like an animatronic doll. She even makes Suri Holmes-Cruise look human. Now that’s scary!
