Can it be? At long last …? Has Jude Law finally met, in person, the child he fathered with babymama Samantha Burke 5 months ago? Apparently … he has. Jude Law was spotted in Miami, FL this weekend going in to a neutral office to meet with Samantha Burke, her mother and 5 month old Sophia Lee so that terms of child-support could be discussed. As far as we know, this was the first time that Jude laid eyes on his precious newborn baby girl:

Jude Law has met American model Samantha Burke for the first time since she gave birth to his love child. The 37-year-old actor sat down with Miss Burke, and his lawyer in Florida to draw up plans on how he should support baby Sophia. It is the first time they have come face-to-face following revelations that the 24-year-old Miss Burke was carrying his love child, now five months old, last summer. He initially met his lawyer Maurice Kutner for six hours last Thursday before the planned meeting with Miss Burke in Miami over the weekend. The actor, who has rekindled his relationship with Sienna Miller, looked harassed as he arrived at the city’s airport the previous day. Baby Sophia was born last September in Florida – Law was not present at the birth. She was conceived during a night Law he had shared with Miss Burke after they met in a nightclub in New York while he was filming Sherlock Holmes in December 2008. She is Law’s fourth child – he has three other children with ex-wife Sadie Frost – but it is Miss Burke’s first. They are believed to have met up on Saturday and were pictured entering an office block where plans for Sophia’s upbringing and maintenance were settled. Miss Burke, her mother Lea, and baby Sophia are staying at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental hotel in Miami. He faces the prospect of a substantial maintenance payout to cover baby Sophia’s living costs over the next 18 years. The total is estimated to be more than £2million, including £5,000-a-month living expenses with school fees and medical bills on top.

Blah! I have to say, while I am personally still totally disgusted that Jude has waited this long to meet the child he fathered, I am happy to see that the first meeting has finally taken place. I highly doubt, if the last 5 months are any indication, that Jude plans to have a close relationship with his newest child (at least, for the foreseeable future) but at least he is stepping up to provide for his newest child. At least little Sophia Lee is still too small to know what is going on … I sincerely hope for everyone concerned that Jude decides to have a loving and personal relationship with his daughter by the time she is old enough to understand who her father is. I suppose this is a step in the right direction.

Yesterday we learned that Jude Law‘s babymama, Samantha Burke, worked out a deal to sell the first baby photos of their lovechild, Sophia Lee, to Hello! magazine when we saw a photo of Burke and baby arriving at the site of their photoshoot last week. Well, it turns out that Hello! magazine works FAST when it comes to publishing celebrity baby photos cuz the magazine has already been published and is ready to hit newsstands. Samantha Burke has shown off five-week-old Sophia Lee, her daughter by actor Jude Law, for the first time. The glowing 25-year-old brunette posed for a glossy photoshoot at her Florida home for Hello! magazine, with her baby, who was born weighing just 5lb 12oz after mother Samantha suffered a 25-hour labour. But despite DNA results proving the actor is the father of Burke’s child following a brief relationship, she revealed he has not yet visited his fourth child. Jude is currently wowing audiences on New York’s Broadway with his spellbinding performance in Hamlet. But it seems that his first glimpse of the child he has confirmed he is the father of will come at the same time as the rest of the world. Miss Burke, who reportedly earned £185,000 for the photoshoot, said: ‘She’s already got such a great personality. I think he’ll fall in love with her when he sees her.’ Describing Sophia, Samantha said she looks more like her famous father, and is already showing signs of sharing his mannerisms. ‘Her features are more like Jude’s. She has his chin and nose, and she does a little pout that I notice that he’s done before. There ain’t no denying that little Sophia Lee is a precious and beautiful baby. Whatever the circumstances of her conception, she is an adorable little miracle and should be treated as such. While I can’t say that I necessarily blame mama Burke for selling the photos to Hello! magazine, I do hope that she is smart with the money and socks it away for her daughter should papa Jude Law not step up and care for this child like he does for his other children. It’s really crappy for this innocent little girl that her famous father seems to want nothing to do with her … like it’s her fault :( In the end, I wish everyone involved the best of luck … this is not an ideal situation by any means. A team of photographers, believed to work for Hello! magazine, last week arrived at the modest Florida house where Samantha Burke is staying with month-old Sophia. Miss Burke could be glimpsed posing with her baby under an umbrella inside the £125,000 house in a downmarket area know as the ‘Redneck Riviera’. Legal experts had predicted the actor’s offer to pay financial support to the 24-year-old model would secure her silence about the fling that led to her pregnancy. But Miss Burke recently hired a Hollywood publicity agent to sell the rights to exclusive portraits of Sophia, and an interview about her friendship with the 36-year-old Alfie star. One source said: ‘Samantha may have got pregnant by accident but she’s a smart businesswoman. ‘The child has rarely left the house since her birth and when Samantha has had to take her out for some reason or the other, her face is carefully covered.’ Miss Burke discovered she was expecting Law’s fourth child after they had a brief relationship while he was filming Sherlock Holmes in New York last December. And so … it begins. To be honest, I am not surprised at all that Burke decided to sell the photos … celeb babies can generate huge revenues for magazines. I wouldn’t bat an eyelash if Burke also presold the story of her “romance” with Jude Law as well. While I sincerely doubt that the money she made from the sale of these photos will go to a charity, I would hope that Ms. Burke would have the foresight to put the money in a high-interest savings account that could be used for her daughter’s college fund. I ain’t gonna lie … I can’t wait to see what Jude Law‘s new daughter looks like … I bet she’s a doll. I wonder if Jude Law has seen what his new daughter looks like … if not, he can pick up a copy of Hello! magazine and get his first look, too!

I’m relieved to hear that Ms. Burke gave birth to a baby girl but I’m sure she was just a wee bit disappointed … she was prolly expecting an over-stuffed money bag to come shooting out of her womb …

… but, still … a baby girl is deffo worth celebrating, I think! I’m not sure how happy Jude Law is to hear this news but I’m sure that babymama Burke and her little girl are really happy today. Any guesses on how Burke is going to introduce Law to his newborn treasure?
