The principal stars of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra made their way to the Land of the Rising Sun for the world premiere of their new movie today. While the Joes have done some promo work for the film previously in Australia, this is the first proper movie premiere for the film. I still have high hopes that the movie will be good but there is a lot of buzz going around about just how not good it really is. Nonetheless, as a huge G.I. Joe fan I deffo plan to see the film for myself and will make my own determination. The Joes have a lot of bad press to battle in the coming weeks … let’s hope they’re as successful battling bad reviews as they are battling the villainous organization Cobra.

The official promo machine for the new film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra has officially gotten underway as members of the cast invaded Sydney Harbor in Sydney, Australia over the weekend to hype up their new film. The cast — including Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols and Marlon Wayans — arrived at their press photocall by speedboat and then immediately made themselves available to the press. Sienna Miller gave the most revelatory info to the assembled media, even confessing that she nearly burned her breasts while making the film:

In what would have been the most bizarre on set accident yet, actress Sienna Miller revealed she nearly burnt her breasts making new movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Speaking at an event in Sydney, Australia, to promote the film, the 28-year-old star, who plays femme fatal The Baroness in the film, said she nearly suffered the rather undignified occurrence when an explosion got too close for comfort. But thankfully it was just a rather close call. She said a press conference in Sydney: “Luckily it wasn’t my breasts, it was the bit in-between. It got a bit burnt when an explosion got a bit close.” Sienna arrived at the press launch for the film in fine style, as she and her cast mates turned up in a power boat. And she also revealed she wasn’t too impressed with her character’s black leather cat suit: “I won’t be wearing one again. Squeezing myself into that with the aid of talcum powder every day for five months was more than enough. I could barely move in it anyway,” she said. The actress looked informal in a print dress from Brit designers Poltock & Walsh Autumn/Winter 2009 collection, accessorised with a pair of suede/leather Chloe ankle boots. Sienna who has enjoyed an on/off relationship with father-of-four Balthazar Getty, brushed off questions that she had plans to walk down the aisle. She said: “No plans to get married, no. No-one to marry!” But co-star Channing Tatum, 29, was actually on his honeymoon. Channing, 29, who married Step Up co-star Jenna Dewan on July 11, had to delay his honeymoon because he will be promoting the new $170million movie for two weeks. He said: “I am on honeymoon but not at the moment. We’ll pick that up after the promotion work is done.” The star, who plays the film’s hero, Duke, said: ‘When I was first approached about the role I thought, “Aww man, how are you going to make a movie about G.I. Joe in a time of war? Then I read the script and it was nothing to do with the military at all. I’m a big supporter of the soldiers and the military and I don’t have a view on the war at all, I’m not a political person. But this is a fantasy film, it is an escape from everything that is going on.” Also at the event were co stars Marlon Wayans and Rachel Nichols who arrived at Sydney’s historic harbour with Sienna and Channing in a customised speedboat. Director Steven Sommers also rejected claims that he had been removed from the film after disastrous test screenings. “It’s complete lies. I have always had final cut of the film. People just make stuff up. You have to really screw up to get fired from a movie. The stigma of that would kill it. This is not the case.” Actor Channing, 29, said: “I hope it does OK”, while a less tactful Sienna added: “You know, GI Joe, it’s not going to be the best acting work we’ve ever done.”

LOL! Not even the actors seem to have much faith in the film … but, I’m still VERY excited to see it when it opens next month!! It’s a shame that Channing has to “work” while he’s on his honeymoon but it’s really hard to feel bad for the guy. It remains to be seen where the G.I. Joe promo machine moves on to next but they’ve got a lot of work ahead of them to sell this flick. Are any of y’all planning on seeing this movie when it opens on August 7?

Last month we learned the heartbreaking news that Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty had called off their extra-marital affair (for the second time in 6 months) and ended their almost year-long romantic fraternization … but apparently the break-up didn’t last. The couple were spotted together again in Southern Italy this weekend (the location of their first romantic tryst last year) and they were lookin’ awfully coupley together again. Yes, Balthazar is still technically married but … meh, it’s not like the couple really care much about that:

Sienna Miller has fallen back into the arms of Balthazar Getty — just a month after they split. The pair were spotted on a romantic holiday in southern Italy yesterday, and looked very much like they had put their break-up behind them. Sienna arrived in Positano with Balthazar’s mother on Friday. He didn’t appear until yesterday, when they took a boat together to Nerano — where they kissed and canoodled over an intimate lunch. They joined a group of family and friends for a meal at a restaurant called Lo Scoglio. But Sienna mustn’t have been satisfied by her menu choice, as she was spotted trying to eat Balthazar’s ear at the table. The group then made their way back to Positano — the same Italian town where a topless Sienna was first spotted kissing Balthazar on a yacht last year … Reports emerged last month that the couple had called time on their affair, and Sienna has said in interviews that she is still in love with old flame Jude Law. Make up your mind, love.

Old habits die hard, I suppose. It should be clarified that altho Getty is still married to his wife, I understand that they are now more formally separated so I guess Sienazar have that going for them. This reunion so soon after their break-up shouldn’t really come as a big surprise. The couple first “broke-up” last November before getting back together a few weeks later. After all this time, it’s clear that the couple can’t get enough of one another — mebbe they should just drop the pretense and get together officially. I’ve heard that some men marry their mistresses … this could be one of those success stories.

A bit of housekeeping/tying up of loose ends right now … for some UNGODLY reason I just read that Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty are dunzo for good. Apparently, the split was first reported last week and I clearly missed getting word. It makes sense that the couple would be on the outs … I understand that Sienna has set her sights on new conquest Josh Hartnett (who is single so, mebbe she’s wising up?) and I know that Balthazar spent part of this weekend with his children at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. To be honest, this is great news … Sienna needs to be with an unmarried man and Balthazar should be spending more time with his kids. I’m actually very glad that they are finally dunzo!

Gentlemen, start your engines. I can reveal Sienna Miller is young, free and single again after calling time on her ill-fated relationship with oil heir and Brothers & Sisters actor Balthazar Getty. A pal reveals: “Sienna loved being with Balthazar but there was too much baggage and she couldn’t commit to anything more than a few months. They are still good friends.” The pair began dating after they were introduced by Sienna’s Edge of Love co-star (and former beau) Matthew Rhys last May while Balthazar was nursing a new baby with then- wife Rosetta. Now Sienna is getting more and more friendly with Hollywood hunk Josh Hartnett. My moles tell me she flew to his bedside in New York when he got a bad tummy bug and nursed him back to health – and they chat all the time on the phone. My source reveals: “Josh and Sienna have a unique bond. They understand each other and I wouldn’t be surprised if a relationship blossomed.” Sienna’s aides will be thrilled by the break with Balthazar. The relationship led to her being branded a home-wrecker and is rumoured to have put an end to her role as Maid Marian in the new Robin Hood movie. The source adds: “She has a real chance of hitting the big time again.” But it’s not as if she needs that much help. The talented blonde is preparing for the release of GI Joe where she’s a leather-clad villain. Sienna tells me: “It’s going to be big for me. Then I’m off to Broadway, treading the boards.”

All of this being said, I’m not entirely ruling out the possibility of a reunion for Sienazar (after all this “pal” of a source isn’t really all that convincing) but it is encouraging that they do seem to be moving on to sunnier pastures. Sienna Miller has teamed up with her older sister Savannah to create a fashion line of women’s clothing which they call Twenty8Twelve and premiered their first ever runway fashion show to debut their Fall/Winter ‘09/’10 Collection at London Fashion Week in front of a packed house of celebs and fashionistas this week. Last night, the actress Sienna Miller should have been on the red carpet at the Oscars in Hollywood. Instead she was on her knees, on the floor of an old diary in West London, putting the finishing touches to a fashion collection. This was not her latest film role, but a real-life scenario as co-designer, with her older sister Savannah, of the Twenty8Twelve fashion brand. The latest collection, for autumn/winter 09/10, made its catwalk debut at London Fashion Week last night before a packed audience of press, buyers and celebrities, including Courtney Love, Alexa Chung, Kanye West, Francesca Versace, Daphne Guinness, Mary McCartney, Jade Jagger, and Twiggy. The clothes appear, on the surface, a reflection of the two sisters: punk, boho and biker-influenced leather jackets and skin-tight, body-conscious dresses in peek-a-boo stretch for Sienna’s hectic trans-Atlantic, movie-star lifestyle; crystal-embellished cashmere knits, finely-tailored “highwayman coats” and floral-print tunics, perhaps more suited to Savannah’s life as a wife and mother to two children in an eco-friendly, “The Good Life” setting in Gloucestershire. “But put them together and it says London cool,” said Sienna, backstage before the show. “These clothes are funky, and there’s something for anyone.” Must-have items included soft, high-waisted, denim leggings, backless tunics with Swarovski crystal-shoulder-pads – “like an American footballer”, said Sienna – a Charlie Chaplinesque trouser suit in grunge-tweed and a long, black and white, jacquard-knit cardigan-coat in what Savannah called “London camouflage”. The two Miller sisters launched the collection – named for Sienna’s birthday – two years ago. “Sales have been very good, particularly in England and America, and we felt it was the right time to do a show,” Sienna said. “I’m not giving up acting, I love acting. But I also love working with my sister. We’ve always been two sisters playing dress-up, ever since we were kids and we’re still doing it.”

The bad news appears to be this quote from Sienna, “I’m not giving up acting”, but the good news is that Sienna has now got a new endeavor to keep her bizzy and out of the company of other women’s husbands … not that this new venture is gonna stop her from that practice. It’s interesting that with all those celebs packed in the front row of Twenty8Twelve’s first fashion show, Sienna’s married paramour Balthazar Getty was nowhere to be seen. HMMM. It would appear that the torrid extramarital love affair between Sienna Miller and her STILL-married paramour Balthazar Getty is still goin’ strong … at least, according to these new photos of the couple locked in a passionate embrace curbside at LAX Airport earlier this month. It’s been quite a few weeks since the pair have been seen enjoying one another’s company in public together and, honestly, I had assumed that the romance had cooled in recent weeks. Clearly, I was wrong cuz, clearly, they appear very happy to still be goin’ at it. You gotta admit, these two really do seem to be perfect for one another … even tho Balthazar still has that pesky wife to worry about, he seems well-suited with Miss Sienna. Perfect match, don’t y’all think?

New G.I. Joe action figures, based on the upcoming live action flick G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, will be unveiled at the New York Toy Fair happening next week but here are a few preview photos to share with all y’all that show what the dolls action figures based on Sgt. Duke Hauser (Channing Tatum), Cobra operative The Baroness (Sienna Miller) and G.I. Joe leader General Hawk (Dennis Quaid) will look like:

He may be engaged, but ladies looking to get their hands on Channing Tatum can now take the hard-bodied hunk home with them. Tatum is one of five G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra stars to have a Hasbro action figure modeled in his likeness, alongside Sienna Miller and Dennis Quaid. Joining a long list of celeb action figures before them, Tatum’s “Duke,” Miller’s “The Baroness” and Quaid’s “General Hawk” will be revealed at Toy Fair from February 15-18 in New York.

Er, of these three toys — only Channing Tatum’s Duke looks nothing like him (well, there is some resemblance but really the toy just looks like a meat head … oh wait). The Baroness and General Hawk look very much like Sienna Miller and Dennis Quaid. It’s unclear, from just these photos, how big the action figures are. I’m from the ’80s generation when the action figures were small and I hope that these new toys are the same size. I was never a fan of the larger, ’60s version of G.I. Joes which were bigger than Barbie size. Tho, I can see the appeal for some folks to want their Channing Tatum dolls to be as big as possible … for whatever reason :) In any event, all this G.I. Joe talk is really taking me back to my youth. I used to *love* playing G.I. Joes. Sigh. Good times. I really hope this new movie doesn’t ruin my fond childhood memories. What do ya’ll think … would any of you like to play with a Channing Tatum doll?
