Last month we saw the first photos from the NYC set of the film Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps which is a sequel to the classic film Wall Street released in 1987. Back then, it was Charlie Sheen in the starring role … this time, it’s Shia LaBeouf. Here are photos of Shia and his on-screen mentor Michael Douglas (who reprises his original role of Gordon Gekko:

It looks to me like the guys are taking a bit of a lunch break in between shooting scenes … or they could be filming the fraternal hot dog eating scene for the film. Unlike a remake, Wall Street 2 is able to capitalize on the popularity of the first film and still tell an entirely new story. Sure, it still looks like Hollywood has run out of new ideas but at least this movie builds on an idea rather than completely retells it. To be honest, I can’t remember if I saw the original Wall Street or not … but I do recall that Charlie Sheen was the man back in the day. I guess that means that Shia LaBeouf is the new Charlie Sheen.

Principal filming has begun here in NYC on the sequel film Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps which continues the tale of intrigue and greed which began in the film Wall Street released back in 1987. Shia LaBeof stars as Jacob (who will, undoubted, get in over his head as he gets lured to the darkside of Wall Street greed) in this new sequel and he and costar Carey Mulligan were spotted filming scenes for the flick on the streets of Manhattan earlier today … behold:

It looks like the short hiatus that Shia enjoyed after he wrapped his last film is over and he is back in action on this new film. It’s encouraging to see that he has no qualms about shooting action scenes like this, especially considering the injury he suffered to his hand in his car accident back in the Summer of ’08 will never be repaired. I dunno that I’d be so willing to get back on the horse, or motorcycle as it were, after being injured but … he’s a pro. Truth be told, I had zero interest in the first Wall Street film so I doubt I’ll be seeing part 2 but good for Shia for getting back into the swing of things again. Do we like him in the leather?

After enduring 12 months of having to wear an obtrusive hand brace after suffering a car accident last Summer, Shia LaBeouf is finally able to go out in public without having to wear his hand brace. I understand his hand is still all jacked up and will, most likely, never be fully healed … but at least he no longer has to wear that fug brace:

Ugh, I can’t even imagine having to endure the strain of having to wear an arm brace for so long (let alone all the surgeries that go along with the injury) so I can imagine Shia is very happy to be rid of it. Man, can you believe it’s been a year already since Shia LaBeouf flipped his truck in the wee hours here in SoCal? Where does the time go? In any event, happiness for Shia and his braceless arm … here’s hoping the young buck stays out of trubs and out of the operating room.

Shia LaBeouf, who can be seen in theaters now in the blockbuster hit movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, was spotted enjoying the intense SoCal heat yesterday as he braved the soaring temps to go for a jog in the Hollywood Hills … behold:

It was nice of Shia to wave hello to the photogs shadowing him but I wonder why he only used one finger to do so? HMMM. In any event, it’s also nice to see such a fine, strapping young man throw off the shackles of shirted conformity in order to engage in a little physical fitness on the public streets of SoCal. It was hot yesterday, y’all. But until I saw these photos, I wasn’t quite sure just how hot it really was.

People magazine has released its annual issue devoted to the Hottest Bachelors of the year and have made their selection for this year’s coverboy. You may recall that the mag named Mario Lopez as the Hottest Bachelor of 2008 … but this year, the honor goes to Chace Crawford. Chace has been deemed by People magazine as the Hottest Bachelor of 2009:

Chace Crawford talks to his parents every day, vacations with his younger sister and – unlike his Gossip Girl character – says dating a married woman is “a definite no.” Without question, success (he’ll star in the Footloose remake) couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. To be honest, I thought for sure that British heartthrob Robert Pattinson was gonna get the nod from People magazine as the Hottest Bachelor of the Year. There ain’t a day that goes by that People doesn’t do a story or even a blurb about R. Pattz and his effect on his fans. He seemed the shoe-in choice for this year’s #1 Hottest Bachelor … but clearly I was wrong. That’s not to say that Chace Crawford isn’t a great pick … he’s deffo a much-in-demand hottie and is an excellent choice for Hottest Bachelor of 2009. The principal cast, including Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, of the Summer blockbuster sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (along with director Michael Bay) made their way to Tokyo, Japan today for the world premiere of their new film. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals at the movie premiere at Roppongi Hills earlier today (last night for us here in the US):

When sharing a red carpet with a 16 foot robot, Megan Fox knew she’d have to go the extra mile to get attention. The actress guaranteed she made a maximum impact at the world premiere of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in Tokyo with a striking figure-hugging purple gown. Taking a style tip from seasoned red carpet veteran Liz Hurley, Megan showed off her fabulous legs in a slashed-to-the-thigh satin gown. The 23-year-old beauty joined co-stars Shia LaBeouf, Isabel Lucas, Josh Duhamel, Ramon Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson at the Toho cinema in Roppongi Hills for the first screening of the sequel to the 2007 blockbuster. Hundred of Japanese fans queued for hours to see their idols, while only a lucky few managed to see the eagerly-anticipated film. The new movie sees Shia and Megan reprises their roles as teenage couple Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes, who team up with their Autobot robot friends to stop the Decepticons from destroying the planet. Speaking on the red carpet, Megan thanked director Michael Bay for giving her a role in the original film, which launched her Hollywood career. She said: ‘It’s mind-blowing. I think it has opened a lot of doors for me career-wise, but there is a certain loss of anonymity, like leaving your house and having people take your picture all the time. That is a different kind of life.’

I’m curious to hear what the reviews for this sequel will be like. As of yet, I’ve not read anything substantial … but now that the film is premiering, I’m sure we’ll be hearing about it soon enough. I am really looking forward to the release of this film … I hope it’s as fun as the first movie. And here we go … the promo machine for Transformers 2 is officially underway. Who’s excited?

Shia LaBeouf is featured in an interview in the new issue of Playboy magazine where he talks at some length (and with great detail) about his sexual awakening. In the process of his anecdotal storytelling, Shia inadvertently reveals that he is “not extremely well-endowed” in the nether region. Here is a portion of this new interview with Playboy mag:

In the new issue of Playboy, Shia talks — among other things — about the time he lost his virginity. “I was shaking in my boots,” he says about the romp, four years ago. “Getting naked was very strange. It was the first time I’d been naked in the light, in front of a girl, with no hiding place.” Things took a turn for the worse when Shia, who was pretending to be a Lothario, made the age-old mistake of trying to copy a porn he’d seen. “I remember putting a pillow underneath her because I had seen that in a porn movie…[It] put her at a weird angle, where I couldn’t get in correctly. I’m not extremely well-endowed … and clearly this wasn’t the move. And while that night might have been a disaster, the lady in question ended up dating Shia for a while, where she became his sex-instructor of sorts. “We had a lot of sex and would read the Kama Sutra together and do the wildest shit.”

Ah youth. Shia talks about much more than just his short-comings and his sexual awakening, he also talks about his injured hand (“Permanently f*ked. I’ll never be back to 100 percent or have full recovery.”), on how he used to masturbate on the set of Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (“I remember my trailer was set up in such a way that Cameron Diaz’s and Lucy Liu’s trailers were visible through my window, through this little shade I had. I’d put down the blackout shade just enough to have my eye peeping through … I’d be inside totally going at it. Just the thought of them changing in their trailers was enough to get me off.”) and hanging out with his fully nekkid mother (“The nudity was weird, especially when her friends came over. All of them would just be naked around the house. That was strange for me … You’ve got your little buds over, and Mom’s, like, playing naked connect the dots or whatever.”). In just about 2 1/2 months time, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will open in theaters around the world … which means that it is just about time that we get to check out a few new promo pics from the upcoming Summer blockbuster. So as to try and not spoil too much from the film this early before its release, I’ll keep the pics of the actual transformers behind the cut … but here are photos of stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and more on the set of the film which was shot last year:

This time around, many of the same Transformers robots will be back for more action … but we will also get a new batch of Transformers characters thrown into the mix. After the jump, check out a few new photos of some of the Transformers that will be featured in the movie and see a full list of characters that will appear in the upcoming sequel — some of the Transformers in the film will come as a surprise, I think …

Earlier today we saw a few photos of Shia LaBeouf proudly walking the streets of SoCal with a large paper bag covering his entire head. I commented that of the dudes in Hollywood (unlike Marc Anthony), Shia is not the kind of person you’d want to see with his head hidden by a paper bag … which is why I’m happy to post these other new photos of an unpaperbagless yet much facially haired Shia enjoying a nice lunch with a few friends at Papoo’s Hot Dog Show in Burbank, CA … check ‘em out:

Now that’s more like it … and while I wouldn’t necessarily classify his facial hair in the porn’stache genus, I do think it is of the same family. The beard and ‘stache give him a bit of a mature look … which works for him. And now that he’s boldly going out sans paper bag, well, we can take notice and admire. He does still look a bit sad in the third pic … looks like he could use a hug. Anyone out there willing to help him out with that?

Shia LaBeouf didn’t seem to be having a particularly good day yesterday … mebbe it was the rainy weather making him feel down (you will note his hand cast is wrapped in a plastic bag, presumable to keep it dry from the rain), mebbe it was because he still can’t have his driver’s license reinstated (because he refused to take a breathalyzer test) after he flipped his truck in that car accident last year (which resulted in the injury and subsequent surgeries on his hand, which requires he wear a cast that needs to be protected from the aforementioned rain) … or mebbe he was just feelin’ a bit unpretty. Whatever the reason, Shia made his way home from the store, where he picked up a couple cans of Arizona Tea, with a large paper bag covering his head:

You know, there are quite a few celebs that would benefit greatly from having a big, brown bag covering their face from public view (but Marc Anthony shall remain nameless) … Shia is not one of those people. We all know that Shia does tend to get shy when the paps are around and mebbe he thought that covering his face (well, his entire head) with a paper bag would throw them off his trail. In any event, the hand cast is a dead giveaway … so he really shouldn’t worry about trying to venture out incognito. The least he could do is find himself a proper mask to wear .. I’m sure he could borrow one from one of Michael Jackson‘s children.
