Former Charmed co-stars and real life BFFs Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty shared a fun dinner date night together last week which Holly shared on her official Twitter profile. Back in April we first learned that Shannen Doherty was planning the release of her first book and this week, that book is now available for purchase in stores. Shannen was on hand to do an in-store booksigning of her new book Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude at the Borders Books & Music in Columbus Circle in NYC, NY last night … behold:

There have been a rash of new celebrity written books (both Nicole Richie and Hilary Duff recently released new novels) but Shannen‘s book is a more personal, non-fiction tome. I can’t help but be intrigued by Shannen‘s book … I’ve yet to pick up a copy but I deffo plan to. I’ve been a big Shannen Doherty fan for years, it’ll be pretty cool to read her very own book. Are any of y’all plannin’ on procuring Badass now that it’s available?

While Shannen Doherty‘s stint on Dancing with the Stars was (far too) short-lived, I’m happy to pass along that there is exciting news about a new project from La Doherty. Shannen has penned her first book, an autobiography of shorts, that chronicles her life from child star, to TV superstar, to tabloid bad girl and beyond. Aptly titled, Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude, Shannen‘s new book will tell her side of the story from her personal perspective. OMG … LOVE this!! For years we’ve heard about what an alleged terror Shannen Doherty is to work with but AT LAST, she will have her say and will finally set the record straight. It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Shannen (for various reasons) and I am so curious to read what she has to say about all the things that have famously been said about her. Badass won’t be released until November but you can pre-order it HERE at Amazon to ensure that you get a copy as soon as it becomes available. I’ve already placed my order so the wait is on. I’m dying to read about Shannen‘s life experiences from her point of view … I suspect it will be a quite different tale then we’ve been told over the years.

Now that Shannen Doherty has stepped back into the limelight by competing as a contestant on season 10 of Dancing with the Stars, her movements around town have become more noticeable by the paparazzi. Whether it’s a good thing or not, Shannen is back on the radar. I, personally, think it’s a good thing cuz I’m totally on Team Shannen! Here are a couple pics of Shannen with her boyfriend making their way out of Fred Segal in West Hollywood, CA this weekend after a quick shopping trip:

I don’t think Shannen necessarily likes all the attention her fame brings her but here’s hoping she warms up to it a bit. I’d love for her stint on DWTS to lead to something more substantial somewhere down the line. It’d be fantastic to have her back on TV again :) I guess we’ll have to wait and see … in the meantime, Shannen will need our support on DWTS. Go, Team Shannen, GO!

My girl Shannen Doherty, who shot to fame on two of my fave TV shows — Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed, made her debut on the season 10 premiere of the competitive reality TV series Dancing with the Stars. Shannen and her 9 competitors performed LIVE on the show last night for the first time this season and, in my completely biased opinion, Shannen was amazing!!

I think I’ve been very open about my complete support of Shannen in this season of DWTS, so it should come as no surprise that I believe she is the best person to win this season’s competition. Sure, there may be stronger dancers competing against her but I’m always of the mind that non-dancers should be the only contestants allowed to compete. The fact that Shannen is dancing in order to better inspire her father to recover from his latest stroke is just … amazing. Shannen Doherty, former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed and NEW castmember on the 10th season of Dancing with the Stars, was a guest on Lopez Tonight last week wherein she appeared to promote the upcoming season of DWTS. For some strange reason, I totally missed seeing her on the show the night it aired but finally got to see her interview online this weekend … and what a great interview it was!

Shannen explains in this interview why she decided to finally agree to appear on Dancing with the Stars … and it’s a heartfelt story that really shows what a sweetheart she truly is underneath that tough exterior. Shannen revealed that her father suffered his 9th stroke that left him almost totally incapacitated. Because he is such a fan of the show, she decided to appear on the show to inspire her father to work towards recovery. By her attempt to conquer her fear of public audiences, she hopes to inspire her father to work especially hard to recover from his latest stroke. Shannen Doherty, former Charmed star and new celebrity contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, shared a supercute photo with her Twitter followers over the weekend that I feel incumbent to pass along to all y’all. Aww … so cute! GRRRR … I hate that I’m now FORCED to pay attention to this DWTS nonsense but since I’m pulling for Shannen to win the whole enchilada, well, I guess my fate is sealed. I sincerely hope that Mr. Ballas here isn’t spending all of this time playing with Shannen‘s dog … he had to ensure that Shannen WINS! It’s a cute pic tho … am I right?

Earlier this week we learned which celebs will be competing on the upcoming 10th season of Dancing with the Stars — including the AMAZING Shannen Doherty — and today we get to see the celeb contestants’ paired up promo photos each with their professional dancing partners:

“Dancing With The Stars” has slots to fill. Every season, they try to make it seem like they’re choosing “stars” based on their immediate relevance and for variety, but every season, you’re reminded that they have a limited number of types who are cast, and the new season, announced during Monday night’s finale of “The Bachelor,” is no different. The most controversial name is Kate Gosselin. She’s there to be the polarizing one. Like Tom DeLay, Denise Richards, and Kim Kardashian before her, Kate is there strictly because some people will recoil at the sight of her. Her dancing ability is a closed book for the moment, and notoriety is unlikely to get her to the final stages of the competition, but her name recognition should keep her safe in the opening rounds. The “Dancing” raid of the “Beverly Hills, 90210” dressing rooms of the past continues with the appearance of Shannen Doherty. Doherty must surely be the Moby-Dick for producers who have spent previous seasons settling for her onetime co-stars Ian Ziering and Jennie Garth. Her reputation as a buster of chops precedes her, much as distant rumbling precedes an invasion by Godzilla, so many will tune in to see whether she can be made to tango properly or will simply bite off the head of her partner. (She will also undoubtedly hope to outlast her long-ago ex-husband Ashley Hamilton, who lasted three days on the show last season.)

As I mentioned before, I don’t watch DWTS but now that they’ve cast Shannen for the new season, well, I’m gonna hafta watch my girl kick ass now won’t I? Great news people!!! Shannen Doherty, that beloved actress of TV shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed, is making her return to network TV as a contestant on the competitive reality TV series Dancing with the Stars! As you may recall, we saw Shannen in the front row at New York Fashion Week in mid-February but little did we know that appearance was a precursor for more Shannen to come. The new cast of Dancing with the Stars was revealed last night … and altho I never, ever watch the show, I can tell you I’ll be tuning in to watch and root for Shannen Doherty to win!! Shannen Doherty — We’ve watched her grow up, but we’ve never seen her dance. Shannen Doherty is a TV icon known throughout the world. She soared to fame as everyone’s favorite troubled teen twin Brenda Walsh on the popular television series Beverly Hills, 90210 and later as the bewitching Prue Halliwell on Charmed. All this came after beginning her career at 11 years old starring as Jenny Wilder in Little House: A New Beginning. Over the course of her career, she has appeared in numerous made-for-TV-movies, television series and films including Heathers and Mallrats. Shannen later went on to produce and star in her own reality show, Breaking Up With Shannen Doherty, for the Oxygen Network in 2006. Shannen Doherty, who we loved/hated as Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210 and loved/missed as Prue Halliwell on Charmed, was sittin’ front and center at the G-Star Raw fashion show at the Hammerstein Ballroom for New York Fashion Week last night … and she was quite a sight for sore eyes. Woot!! Shannen looks great, don’t she? It was such a nice treat to see her reprise her role as Brenda Walsh on the new version of 90210 last Fall … it’s a shame we don’t get to see more of her. I’m currently re-watching the entire Charmed series and I am so LOVING Shannen Doherty again these days. I’m so glad she popped up at NY Fashion Week … I hope we get to see more of her soon!
