Sad news to report this AM … Lance Bass sat down for a little tête-à-tête with After Elton to talk about various topics of interest and ended up revealing that he and Sebastian Leal are dunzo. Sad but true. Lance‘s curious comments in this new interview suggest that he and Sebastian were never “boyfriends” but I tend to believe otherwise. In any event, whether or not they were “officially” betrothed to one another is moot as Lance has made clear that he is unattached to anyone right now. Here is a pic of LaBastian together in happier times earlier this summer and some bits from Lance‘s interview with After Elton:

In Lance‘s interview he talks about the usual things going on in his life, including his stint on Dancing with the Stars, his distaste for the idea of forcibly outing people and his work to oppose Proposition 8 here in California. Then the subject turns to his “boyfriend” Sebastian Leal to which Lance replies, “Well, I don’t have a boyfriend.” He goes on to say, “You get seen with one person and that’s automatically your boyfriend.” It seemed pretty clear to me that, at the very least, Lance was involved with Mr. Leal for a good portion of this summer so it is a bit of a bummer to know that they are no longer together. I suspect that Lance is shying away from any attachment labels either to try and minimize the conversation about his private life or to keep his options open (or both). In any event, I suspect we’ll be seeing much less of Leal from here on out. I suppose it won’t be long until we see Lance cuddling up to some other guy who may be “automatically” assumed to be his boyfriend. If his record holds, Lance doesn’t tend to stay unattached for long.

Pink reader Cassie gave me the head’s up that a cute pic of Lance Bass and (I’m gonna assume) his latest paramour Sebastian Leal lookin’ all cozy together showed up on a site called Polite in Public which, apparently, posts photos online that were taken inside their themed photobooths:

Now, as best as I can tell … Lance hosted a private party called the Beerjing Olympics and installed a Polite In Public photobooth so that his guests could take fun photos and, apparently, see them online. Looks like Mission: Accomplished. The event, the site says, took place on 08.08.08 (the same day that the Beijing Olympic Games took place) and looks like it was a lot of fun. Again, it’s hard to tell who the guy kissing on Lance‘s cheek is but, as I said, I’m gonna assume it’s his latest boy toy Sebastian Leal. Lance Bass hosted a kickoff event for the 4th Annual GLSEN Respect Awards which was held at Blu in Beverly Hills, CA this past Friday and he called on a bunch of his friends, including new boyfriend Sebastian Leal, to come out in support. Here are a few pics from the event:

First off, much props and love goes out to Lance for his continued involvement with the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network. They provide such an important service for schools across the country. I worked with them extensively when I was a teacher back in Michigan and they were integral in helping us get our Gay, Straight Alliance club off the ground in a very conservative community. Props also go out to Lance‘s friends for coming out in support of this event. I love that Lance brought along Sebastian to attend the soiree as well … things must be pretty serious if he’s bringing the guy along as his date to public events (tho, I could do without the macho posturing in the first pic of the LaBastian). I absolutely and fully support Lance in all of his GLSEN endeavors and it is my pleasure to help spread the word.

A few weeks ago E!‘s Marc Malkin broke the news that Lance Bass has been seeing a new man — a personal trainer named Sebastian — for “some time” and altho the couple were keeping things “casual” they partied the night away at Tenjune and “closed the place down”. As far as I know, Lance and Sebastian (LaBastian?) have not been photographed together … until now. A Pink reader who wishes to maintain their anonymity (going by the cute name Princess Consuela Bananahammock) discovered that Lance and Sebastian created Facebook profiles where they posted pics and cutesy comments to one another (apparently Lance used the name “James Bass“). The profiles, I’m told, have since been stripped of all photos but not before this photo and these comments were saved:

Additionally, LaBastian were spotted in Provincetown, MA over the 4th of July holiday and were spied cuddling it up with one another. Woot! I’m happy to know that Lance has managed to score himself another hunk of a man so quickly after his break-up with Ben Thigpen (tho, the two have remained friends … Lance was partying at Tenjune with both his new dude Sebastian and his ex-dude Ben). I hope we get to see more of Lance and Sebastian … they make a handsome couple, don’t you think?
