Sean Combs — the artist formerly known as Puff Daddy, Puffy, P. Diddy, Diddy and more — has decided to change his name again. For a week only, Diddy has decided that his new name will be Swag, short for Swagger. Didd … er, Swag made the announcement on his official Twitter profile AND on a new Twitter profile created for his new name. Last night at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal Studios in Universal City, CA the 2010 Teen Choice Awards were handed out with as much glitz and fun as could be packed into one night. In unsurprising news, The Twilight Saga and its cast were the big winner of the night but they had to share some of the glory with The Vampire Diaries, which aslo cleaned up in awards last night. Here are some photos from the red blue carpet arrivals and some deets about who won what:

Bloodsuckers struck another vein at the Teen Choice Awards with “The Twilight Saga” ruling Sunday’s ceremony with 12 wins, including choice fantasy movie and villain, while “The Vampire Diaries” sucked up seven surfboard-shaped trophies at the taped ceremony, which is scheduled to air Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox. “This is what this night is all about,” said a gothed-out Katy Perry. “Vampires.” The goofy “California Girls” singer hosted the show with the male stars of “Glee.” Besides going goth, her costume changes included donning hippie garb next to Kevin McHale, being crowned prom queen with prom king Chris Colfer, geeking out with Mark Salling and landing a split as a cheerleader alongside Cory Monteith. “Tonight is my chance to go back to high school,” said Perry, “although this time people actually like me.” Voters continued to really like “Twilight” stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson, who were present to accept their multiple awards, seemingly handed out like candy at the freewheeling ceremony. Of Pattinson’s four wins, one was actually not related to the supernatural saga: choice drama movie actor for “Remember Me.” “It’s great to win something outside of ‘Twilight,’” said Pattinson … The awards, which honor celebrities in television, film, music and sports, were selected by over 85 million votes cast online. Other multiple winners included “Gossip Girl,” Ellen DeGeneres, “Pretty Little Liars” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” star Selena Gomez, who picked up trophies in both TV and music categories.

I don’t usually tune in to the Teen Choice Awards but I might have to make sure and watch the show when it airs tonight on Fox at 8PM. No, it’s not because I need to see Twilight and The Vampire Diaries win everything … it’s because I want to see this right here:

First Lady Michelle Obama, her daughters Malia and Sasha, her mother Marian Robinson and some friends were spotted chillin’ in a skybox at the Staples Center in downtown LA last night for Game 6 of the NBA Finals featuring the LA Lakers vs. the Boston Celtics. The Obama ladies have been in town since Sunday, hittin’ up a few famous eateries, and surprised everyone by showing up at the game last night:

The President of the United States might be the basketball player in the family. But it was the Obama women who turned out en masse as surprise attendees at the Lakers V Boston Celtics last night. First Lady Michelle Obama, 46, daughters Sasha, 9, Malia, 11, and Mrs Obama’s mother Marian Robinson, 72, pitched up at Game 6 of the intensely competitive NBA Finals. While the games typically attract a huge celebrity turnout, all of Hollywood were abuzz with the news that the Obama ladies were in town. All eyes were on the group as they enjoyed the penultimate game in the series between the sporting superstars from a private box at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Even the presence of Cheryl Cole’s mentor and rumoured new love will.i.am in their box, also intensely watching the game, couldn’t shift the limelight from the group who were being openly filmed by many spectators on their mobile phones. Mrs Obama was presented with a Lakers jersey by a club official, and fans clamoured to talk to the First Lady who seemed more than happy to accommodate them … Mrs Obama watched the Los Angeles Lakers extend the NBA finals to a decisive seventh game with a 89-67 victory over the Boston Celtics.

Of course the nation’s First Ladies weren’t the only big names in the hiz showing their support for the Lakers, a bunch of celebs were also spotted at the Staples Center last night to cheer on the Lakers … who went on to DESTROY the Celtics by a score of 89-67! Here are some of the other celebs who were at the game last night along with some deets:

Dirrrty singer Christina Aguilera sang the US national anthem, and the rest of the evening’s entertainment was taken up by watching both the game, and the anguished looks of the assembled celebrities. Courtside regulars included Jack Nicholson, Spike Lee, David Arquette, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. Transformers star Megan Fox hid under her baseball cap as she arrived with boyfriend Brian Austin Green, and married actors Josh Brolin and Diane Lane were in the arena. While British socialite Peaches Geldof made an appearance with director boyfriend Eli Roth at the event which is the showbiz town’s hottest ticket this week. Defending champions the Lakers forced the Celtics to the limit for the first time since 2005. Star player Kobe Bryant said: ‘I was very happy. We did a great job defensively. ‘We kept them out of the middle, kept them out of the paint, did a good job on the boards. It was a solid effort by us.’ A champion will be crowned Thursday night at Staples Center. The First Lady, her daughters and her mother have been in town since Sunday, enjoying dinner at a number of top eateries and stopping by legendary hot dog stand Pink’s before watching Tuesday night’s game.

Oh man, what a game … actually, it wasn’t really a game so much as it was a COMPLETE BLOW OUT! The Lakers dominated the entire game and looked like they could not be stopped. The Lakers will face the Celtics for the 7th and final game on Thursday night here in LA … the winner will be the 2010 NBA Champs. I’m pretty certain that most of the celebs featured here, save for the Obamas, will be in attendance tomorrow night for the final game of the championship series. Here’s hoping the Lakers can put on a repeat performance of last night’s incredible game. Woot!!

On Saturday night, Black Entertainment Television hosted their 3rd annual BET Honors ceremony at the Warner Theatre in Washington DC. The BET Honors, which was established in 2008, seeks to “celebrate the lives and achievements of African American luminaries” in an annual event that will be broadcast on BET during Black History Month. It looks like Sean P. Diddy Combs‘s desire to make as much money as possible knows no bounds … after all, he seems to have no problem resorting to appearing on the Home Shopping Network to peddle his wares in order to make a quick buck. The rapper, who has a $300million urban empire which includes a hip-hop record label, two restaurants, a clothing line and a marketing company, Blue Flame, sat on the sofa for two hours selling his new cologne. The 40-year-old was a natural on the Home Shopping Network in the US and came up with plenty of sales patter. Referring to the I Am King gift set with a free bag, he said: ‘I carry my computer in that bag. We made that exclusively for you guys. You can’t find it any place else.’ He added: ‘You don’t have to pay for this bag. This is my personal gift to you. You can tell your friends that I gave you that bag for Chirstmas and that’s the truth.’ And he went on to insist: ‘This is not a celebrity fragrance. This is a designer luxury fragrance. I went into the fragrance lab and designed this to a particular taste level. I have a very sensitive nose.’ As he pushed fragrance I Am King, he spoke to fans live on air and told Diana from New York: ‘I wish I could just jump through the screen and give you a hug girl.’ He proceeded to give the air a hug. He insisted the scent’s name did not refer to him and his lifestyle but was intended to represent the ‘king in all of us’. ‘If we as men act as kings, we will respect our women as queens,’ he added. ‘This is not about it smelling like me. This is about smelling clean, smelling sensual. It’s for the modern man.’

LMAOOOO! This is hilarious!! I guess it really is still all about the hustle for Mr. Combs. Trust me, I am not mad at the man … he seems to work really hard for all of his success … even if that hard work means he has to hang out on HSN to sell a few bottles of perfume. Just hours after news broke of the death of Michael Jackson last Thursday, a tribute song titled Better on the Other Side (featuring The Game, Chris Brown, Sean P. Diddy Combs et al.) was leaked to the Internets in honor of the late King of Pop. Today, we get our first look at the accompanying music video. Only a day after Michael Jackson’s untimely death, a few artists have come together to record a tribute song in remembrance of the late, great pop star. When Los Angeles based DJ Skee told his good friend, The Game, about the passing of Michael, the rapper was shocked. But once it sunk in, he locked himself in the studio and came out with “Better On The Other Side.” “After I called Game and told him the news, he put this tribute together and produced this amazing record,” DJ Skee tweeted Friday morning (June 26). “Yesterday I told Game about MJ’s death and he didn’t believe it.” The new song, which leaked Friday (June 26), featuring Game spitting alongside Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher and Boyz II Men, while DJ Khalil produced the track.

I have to say, for the song being put together so hasitly after MJ‘s death it’s not a bad song at all. I got to hear it last week but I think I like it better with a music video. The images of fans mourning MJ‘s death makes it feel more poignant. It’s a very nice tribute, wouldn’t you agree?

Oh, Diddy … you really do love the attention from as many people as possible, don’t you? While I find him marginally entertaining on his MTV reality TV show Making the Band, I don’t consider myself a big enough fan to really follow him in any other tech medium. That said, I’m kinda obsessed with all things Twitter lately so I have been following him for a few weeks now (before he posted this message on his My Space profile). Honestly, he hasn’t really been posting anything worth mentioning (and there are far more interesting folks on Twitter … Neil Gaiman, Amber Benson and Lily Allen to name a few) but … I keep waiting for something. I figured I’d pass along this message to all y’all in case anyone out there is interested in following Diddy‘s every move. Any takers?
