Here are a couple new pics of Melanie Sporty Spice Chisholm stepping out on the streets of London to take her newborn baby girl (who was born last February) Scarlet out for a stroll … behold:

New mother Melanie Chisholm was spotted making a rare trip out with baby Scarlet Starr yesterday. The Spice Girl carefully wheeled her three-month-old baby through London as she chatted with a friend. Scarlet, who was born at London’s Portland Hospital on February 22, is the first child for the singer and her partner Thomas Starr. Melanie fell pregnant just months after the Spice Girls reunion tour ended in 2008. “Being backstage at the shows with the girls and all the kids made me think, ‘Yeah I could be a good mum,’” she has admitted. She added: “I used to love the fact that I was the only Spice Girl who didn’t need to lug around loads of baby stuff. Mad, innit? Me, a mum.” The 34-year-old was the last of the Spice Girls to have a child and has had plenty of advice from her old bandmates. Emma Bunton, who was nicknamed Baby Spice, was the first to meet the new addition, declaring her “One of the cutest little girls I’ve ever seen.” She added: “Melanie is an absolutely natural mother.” Emma is mother to a son while Melanie Brown has two daughters, Victoria Beckham three sons and Geri Halliwell a daughter. Melanie and Thomas, her partner of six years, are said to be planning their wedding.

While we don’t really get a good look at little Miss Scarlet in these pics (for all we know, Mel C. could be pushing around a glazed ham in that stroller) we did get our first look at the little doll on the cover of Hello! magazine last March. Sporty may not be my fave of the Spices but I am happy to see her as a new mommy … she really did sound like she was hoping for a child of her own in interviews during the Spice Girls Reunion Tour a couple of years ago. At last, she got her wish!

Late last month we learned that Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm a.k.a. Sporty Spice (and the last of the Spices to spawn) finally gave birth to her firstborn child … a girl she named Scarlet Starr. Today, we get our first look at the little darling as mother and child are featured on the cover of the new issue of Hello! magazine:

The most private of the Spice Girls, Melanie Chisolm has avoided the spotlight since the February 22 birth of Scarlet Starr – her first child with property developer partner Thomas Starr. Instead the 35-year-old mum has decided to introduce her “beautiful little girl” to the world exclusively in HELLO! magazine. This week’s issue, number 1063, contains two gorgeous portraits of mother and baby, who has a shock of brown hair just like her famous mum. There’s also the inside story on how Mel is coping, as told by her fellow Spice Girl mums, as well as their messages of love and support. “I’m extremely happy for Melanie and Thomas,” says Victoria Beckham. “They will be wonderful parents and I’m hoping to meet baby Scarlet when I’m in London in the next few weeks.”

Awww … little Scarlet is so darling … and so much hair :) Mel C. looks so happy with her little girl, good for her! While I initially kinda thought that Sporty decided to jump on the baby bandwagon just so she could fit in with her Spice Girl cohorts, I guess I can kinda believe that she had her baby cuz, you know, she wanted to have a baby ;) I keed, I keed. At last! The final Spice Girl has finally crossed over into the realm of motherhood! Melanie Chisholm, aka Mel C., aka Sporty Spice has announced on her official website that she gave birth to her first child, a daughter, yesterday afternoon. The new baby Spice has been named Scarlet Starr. Here is the full text of Scarlet‘s birth announcement published on her mother’s official website:

Melanie C gave birth to a beautiful little girl at 4.10 pm on Sunday 22nd February. The baby weighed 8lb 3oz. Both mum and baby, named Scarlet Starr, are doing fine.

Finally! Now Sporty cannot be excluded from all those fun Spice mom events that the other Spices like to engage in … er, in order to try and exclude Sporty Spice. You just know that the Spice Moms were “too bizzy” with their children to hang out with the childless Mel C. when they were on their reunion tour last year and I’d bet good money that that had something to do with Melanie‘s decision to get knocked up. She was the only Spice without a baby … and now she’s one of the gang again. HMMM. I bet Vicki B. will still find a reason to NOT invite Melanie or Scarlet Starr to any of her mom-related things. Ah well. Congrats, anyways, to Mel C. on the birth of her firstborn child!!
