Great news, Sarah Michelle Gellar fans … Entertainment Weekly is reporting that SMG will be making an in-person appearance at 2011 San Diego Comic-Con next month to promote her new CW TV series Ringer (set to air this Fall TV season). Not since 2004, when Gellar was promoting the horror film The Grudge, has SMG deigned to appear amongst the geeky faithful at Comic-Con so … if you want to see her up close and personal, now’s your chance!

Last week we learned that Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s new TV series Ringer was picked up by The CW to air this Fall and yesterday we got our first look at the first official photos and video from the show. Today we get to hear from SMG herself on why she decided to return to TV after an 8 year hiatus and we get to see new photos of her in-person appearance at the CW Upfronts presentation in NYC this week.

Last weekend we learned that Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s new TV series Ringer will air this Fall on The CW (rather than CBS) and today we learn that the show will be seen on Tuesday nights … the very same night that Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired when it was on TV. Back in January we learned that Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar was planning a return to TV this Fall in a new CBS series titled Ringer. In March, we saw photos of SMG on the set of Ringer filming the pilot episode. Late yesterday, it was reported that CBS has decided to pass the show to its sister network The CW instead. That means that SMG‘s new series will air on The CW … which originally was The WB … and that was the network that originally aired Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It looks like SMG is retuning to her TV home, y’all.

Buffyverse alum Sarah Michelle Gellar participated in a Summer Reading campaign called The Nestlé Share the Joy of Reading Program aimed at children this week by reading the Dr. Seuss classic Green Eggs and Ham to a bunch of kids here in SoCal. In an interview with SMG after the event, she was asked to comment on the plans to make a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer film without any involvement from Joss Whedon, the creator of BtVS. In no uncertain terms she made it very clear that she is NOT in support of the Buffy reboot and calls it “the dumbest idea [she's] ever heard”. Late last month we got our first look at Buffyverse alum Sarah Michelle Gellar in a new video game called Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation – Call of the Dead (watch the video HERE) and today we get to watch a new interview with SMG talking about her appearance in the game. According to SMG, she has been a fan of the Call of Duty video game series because of her hubby Freddie Prinze, Jr‘s love of the game and she decided to voice the game because it was a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to be a part of something that will “last forever”. Last night the Who’s Who of the Fashion Elite made their way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to attend the annual “celebrity prom” event known as the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala … and the most extravagantly beautiful (and not quite beautiful) couture fashions were shown off on the red carpet. The theme of the Gala Ball this year was Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, in honor of the late fashion designer. As you should know, the design house of Alexander McQueen was responsible for Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress last weekend … so this MET Gala Ball was only the latest tribute to McQueen‘s important impact on Fashion. Pink reader Rob gave me the head’s up about some very cool Sarah Michelle Gellar news. We already know that she is planning her return to TV this Fall in a new CBS series called Ringer but it turns out that she is also starring in another new project, set for release soon. SMG is one of the stars in a new video game, y’all! In very Buffy-like fashion, SMG plays a zombie slayer in Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation – Call of the Dead. The video game is inspired by the work of horror legend George Romero and also stars Robert Eglund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Danny Trejo (Machete) and Romero himself. SMG will play the sole female role … and as you can see from the screencaps and video below, she basically looks exactly like Buffy the Vampire Slayer … but with a gun rather than a wooden stake.

Last month we saw photos of mama/actress Sarah Michelle Gellar and her beautiful daughter Charlotte Grace on the NYC set of SMG‘s new TV pilot Ringer but today we get to see new photos of mother and daughter as they made their arrival back home in SoCal yesterday. SMG has been in NYC for the past few weeks working on her new show but now that the filming portion of production is completed (at least, for now), she is back home in LA.

Yesterday we saw photos of mommy Sarah Michelle Gellar with her beautiful daughter Charlotte Grace as they left the NYC set of SMG‘s new TV series Ringer and today we get to see more photos of SMG on set in between filming takes. I can’t even express how elated I am that SMG is working on a new TV series … and that we are seeing photos from production already. Wee!!
