BUT, Sarah Jessica Parker says it's not a done deal just yet
Movie Studio Confirms Plans For ‘Sex And The City’ Movie Sequel

Yesterday we learned that Kim Cattrall, one of the principal stars of Sex and the City, made the bold confirmation that a sequel to the Sex and the City Movie would definitely be made “hopefully” next year. Today, Sarah Jessica Parker, THE star of SaTC, responds by saying that the sequel IS NOT a done deal and that plans are still in the talking stage. E! News confirms that Warner Bros. Studios is in the negotiation phase of sequel plans. So while it’s not 100% assured that the sequel will be made, talks are underway to get the deal signed and sealed:

Hold the Cosmos – for now, at least. That’s the word from Sarah Jessica Parker, who says that a sequel to Sex and the City: The Movie is still in the talking stage. Her announcement came just one day after costar Kim Cattrall seemed to hint that the follow-up film was a done deal. (“Yes, there will [be another movie] …,” she said on a British TV show. “We will do the sequel next summer.”) But Parker insists Cattrall’s words were a bit premature. “I’m thrilled to know Kim is excited but all the deals are not yet done,” Parker said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “With the wind on our heels, we hope to make it a reality.”

And this from E! News: Attention straight men of the world: Time to work on that excuse for why you can’t go see the Sex and the City movie sequel with your girl. ‘Cause as of today, it is officially in the works. “They’re in negotiations,” a rep for Warner Brothers Studios has just confirmed to us.

It’s pretty much as I expected … while SJP and WB Studios haven’t outright refuted Cattrall‘s assertion that the sequel will definitely be made, they are offering up cautions that “the deal is not done”, implying that the sequel may or may not happen. I would bet good money that we will get a Sex and the City Movie sequel. In fact, I suspect we will get at least three 3 SaTC movies overall … kind of like the Matrix Triology but with Manolo Blahniks. In the end, I think all this chatter back and forth about the sequel is great … the SaTC folks want us to wonder about a possible sequel so that we can start making plans for our SaTC 2 parties. The sequel may not come next year but I’m pretty sure it’ll come soon.

They're just like us!
Celebs Voted!

Woot! A new day has dawned here in America … and the World … and while there is still much to celebrate, there is also much work to get done in the aftermath. It’s also time to get back to the goss ;) Yesterday I created a photo album of friends and Pink readers proudly showing off the I Voted stickers (or handmade signs) that they were given after they voted yesterday and today we get to see a whole bunch of photos of celebs showing off their I Voted stickers, too. Americans came out in record numbers to vote yesterday and those numbers included celebs … here are a few of them who exercised their right to vote yesterday:

Depending on where the celebs live, these photos were snapped in NYC and here in LA. Here is another batch of celebs who came out to vote yesterday:

I’m pretty sure that some of these celebs were voting for President for the first time in their lives and it seems pretty safe to assume that the lion’s share of them added to President-elect Barack Obama‘s historic win.

I’ve been getting emails and messages from around the World of folks cheering on Obama‘s victory as news of his election as the 44th President of the United States of America made headlines around the world. Here are a few of the UK papers splashing the news across their covers:

David tells me that newsstands all over NYC are selling out of copies of The New York Times, etc. so I would suggest that y’all snap up your local newspapers — wherever in the country you are — and put them away for posterity. I’m just sayin’ ;)

Madonna was in concert in San Diego, CA last night and was on stage when news of Obama‘s win was announced … she happily broke the news to her assembled audience and talked a little bit about the momentous nature of the win while on stage. After the jump, check out video of her impromptu speech …

And YOU can, too!
Sarah Jessica Parker Gets Involved In The Political Process

Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker reported for duty at the NYC Headquarters of the Obama/Biden campaign last night to man the phone banks for a few hours in order to make calls on Obama‘s behalf to undecided voters. Not content with just showing up for the glitzy Hollywood fundraisers, SJP rolled up her sleeves and got down in the trenches with other committed Obama campaign volunteers:

I think it’s very impressive for someone like SJP to put her money where her mouth is (in this case, literally) and actually work for a campaign like this. It is very easy for celebs to just show up at fundraisers, donate money and be on their way but you gotta respect the celebs who care enough to actually put in an modicum of effort to work on a political campaign like this. I’m happy to report that my BFF Sarah will be donating some of her time this Sunday to volunteer for the Obama/Biden campaign in her Dearborn, MI neighborhood. The presidential campaign is getting down to the wire and folks are really stepping up in the last days to try and make a difference and bring much needed CHANGE to this country. It’s not too late for YOU to get involved in your neighborhood:

Click HERE to find out how you can get involved in the Obama/Biden campaign in these few remaining days. Having worked on previous political campaigns for the Democrats, I can assure you … it’s an insanely rewarding experience. Can’t volunteer? Click HERE to make a donation to the Obama/Biden campaign and receive a One Voice can Change the World t-shirt! Get involved, make a difference :)

The gang's all here ... well, except for Charlotte
‘Sex And The City’ The Movie Premieres On DVD

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and others (except for Kristin Davis) were all on hand at the New York Public Library for the Sex and the City: The Movie DVD Launch Party here in NYC last night. Here are a few pics from the event’s pink carpet arrivals:

It’s curious that Kristin Davis would skip out on an event like this … she happily signed on to make the promo rounds for the SaTC Movie release in May and even hosted, with only director Michael Patrick King, the “LA Premiere” of the movie (which I was lucky enough to attend). Could there be behind the scenes turmoil running amok amongst the SaTC ladies again? Generally, I’m a fan of SJP‘s red carpet looks (I didn’t even mind that ridiculous hat she wore to the UK premiere of the SaTC Movie) but I’m not a fan of the obvs Audrey Hepburn rip-off. I’m actually surprised she didn’t walk around with a really long cigarette holder to go with the outfit … originality, please.

Take their lurve to the Hamptons
The Brodericks Keep Showing Their Unity

Last week Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby Matthew Broderick were snapped enjoying a date night together about a week after new claims surfaced that the couple were having marriage trubs due Matthew‘s alleged infidelity (an allegation made by Star magazine). This week, the couple have relocated to the beachy Hamptons to continue their show of unity:

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick fled to their beach home for some alone time following press allegations the actor had cheated on his wife. The couple and their five-year-old James Wilke escaped to their house in The Hamptons, upstate New York last month following the reports. Far from her fashionable Sex And The City character Carrie, SJP dressed casually for a day on the beach in blue board shorts and a stripy vest, which showed off her golden tan. Meanwhile her husband of 11 years Matthew appeared a tad sunburnt as he covered up in a grey t-shirt and patterned blue shorts. The couple spent the day on the beach playing with their son and Jack Russell terrier in the sand for a traditional family day out. At the end of the day, Sarah Jessica, 43, tied up the numerous buckets and spades left discarded on the sand by their son, as Matthew kept the dog occupied.

Despite the fact that they don’t look all that happy in these pics together, I would venture to guess that things are just fine between the two of them … well, about as fine as they’ve always been. I just hope they really are ok. They have such a cute family, I hate to see Carrie Bradshaw and Ferris Bueller break-up.

Everything is A-OK
SJP & Matthew Broderick ‘Carrie’ On

In an effort to show the world that everything is fine in their marriage (at least, that’s the way it looks to me) after a new claim was made by Star magazine that the couple are in trubs, Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby Matthew Broderick were snapped out on a date together in NYC last night … something that they rarely if ever do. Here are a couple pics of the happy couple:

Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick were photographed having a date night in New York on Wednesday following a report that the actor had an affair with a 25-year-old woman. The couple, who are rarely pictured together in public, emerged from a Midtown restaurant Wednesday night, Broderick’s arm wrapped around his wife as they smiled at photographers. It’s the first time the pair, who have been married for 11 years, have been seen together since Star magazine claimed he had a three-month relationship with another woman while Parker was filming the “Sex and the City” movie. Broderick and Parker’s reps never responded to FOXNews.com’s request for comment on the Star magazine report, and Broderick never commented on the matter.

Personally, I don’t necessarily believe the Star report that any infidelity occurred in their marriage but I totally get why the couple may have decided to step out together for this photo op. Just one date night can do much to undue some of the damage done by the report. In the end, tho, it’s impossible to really know what may or may not be going on in a couple’s marriage like this. Mebbe I just want to believe that everything is fine for these two cuz I like them both so much. I hope they’re doing ok and that this date night together was more genuine rather than more contrived.

Star magazine seems to think so
Are SJP & Matthew Broderick Dunzo?

Star magazine is reporting that Sarah Jessica Parker‘s hubby Matthew Broderick was caught cheating and has, as a result, endangered his marriage to SJP. Since this issue of the magazine hit the newsstands, StarMagazine.com has been offline and completely inaccessible. HMMM … could the magazine have gotten the story wrong and subsequently got themselves in a heap o’ trubs? In any event, here is the magazine cover making its bold claims and some deets from the Star magazine coverstory:

Sarah Jessica Parker’s 11 year marriage to Matthew Broderick has been hit by claims he had an affair with a 25-year-old youth worker. American magazine Star alleges the actor had a liaison with the unnamed woman from November to February while Sarah was shooting the big screen film, Sex And The City. Broderick’s spokesperson Simon Hall didn’t deny the allegations, telling the magazine instead: “There will be no comment.” The publication reports the pair met in a Manhattan bar last November and later he was allegedly seen heading to the woman’s apartment carrying wine and flowers. It claims Broderick, 46, told the brunette his relationship with Parker, 43, was “not good”. Parker, who has a five-year-old son, James Wilkie, with the star, has previously admitted that their marriage is tumultuous at times. In an April interview she said, “I’m really lucky that he is the father of my son, but that doesn’t mean that we always agree on everything. We’ve had some rather treacherous train rides. I’m happy to be with him regardless but I’m sure there are many times he wishes he wasn’t with me.”

I managed to sneak a peek at this issue of Star magazine and was surprised to find out that they were able to publish an actual photo of the alleged mistress that Matthew supposedly cheated with. After the jump, check out her photo …

'Peace the Spork Out' goes to her famous beauty mark
Sarah Jessica Parker Gets De-Moled

Sarah Jessica Parker made an appearance at the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium (to make an on-field announcement with Sheryl Crow) in the Bronx, NY this past Tuesday night and she showed up missing one important bit of accessory … her trademark mole! US Weekly reports that SJP did, indeed, have her mole surgically removed … here is a pic of SJP from her appearance at the MTV Movie Awards at the Gibson Amphitheater on June 1 with mole and a pic of SJP from the All-Star Game sans mole:

An unairbrushed photo of Sarah Jessica Parker, 43, emerged at the 79th MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium in New York on Tuesday, in which her beauty mark is noticeably missing, the Huffington Post reported Wednesday. “It’s true. She did have it done,” a friend of Parker tells Usmagazine.com. “There was no reason for it, it wasn’t because she didn’t like her mole, and it wasn’t because of any medical reason, it was simply because she was in the mood to have it removed. That’s all.” The Huffington Post pointed out that The New York Observer’s Rex Reed made a cruel remark about Parker’s mole in his harsh review of Sex and the City: The Movie. “There’s nothing wrong with Sarah Jessica Parker, that couldn’t be cured by wart-removal surgery. That growth on her face just gets bigger with every close-up, and in the full-length movie version of Sex and the City it’s so distracting you can’t concentrate on anything else,” Reed wrote. “It’s not a beauty mark. I guess you can’t tell a co-producer anything, but listen up, girl. At this point, you would make a wonderful Halloween witch.”

Interesting. On the one hand, I find it very hard to believe that SJP would go to such measures to remove her mole simply because of negative remarks by some people (tho, it prolly wasn’t really fun being voted the Unsexiest Woman Alive by Maxim magazine). On the other hand, if there was no medical reason for the removal then why would she remove it now, after all these years sticking with the mole. I suppose it really doesn’t matter why she had it removed … it’s gone now, never to be seen again :( I say we pour one out, pause for a moment of silence and send a hearty Peace the Spork Out to the late SJP Mole:

We’ll miss ya dearly … we knew you well. Never has a facial growth made such an impact on our lives like you did. You will be missed.

SJP Does ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine

Sarah Jessica Parker, star of the current blockbuster #1 movie Sex and the City, may be featured on the cover of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine but all of her primary SaTC castmates and some of the production folks were interviewed for the mag, each one giving insightful quotes on the TV series, the gossip surrounding the movie and, of course, the matter of sex. Here are a few quotes from the SaTC cast member interview:

IN THE BEGINNINGDarren Star (SATC creator): My idea was that this could be sort of a Mary Tyler Moore Show for the new millennium. It wasn’t about T&A. It would be R-rated, but it had to be funny.Cindy Chupack (executive producer): On HBO we could use language and show sex without pressure from sponsors—like when we wanted to do an episode about Miranda’s deciding whether to keep the baby or have an abortion. I don’t know how you could have done that on network television as honestly as we did. Have your main character admit that she’d had one? It felt like a luxury that there was no pressure other than what would be true for these characters.Chris Noth (Mr. Big): It started slow and then it just sort of exploded. All of New York just changed at the same time, really. It all became Cosmos and the Meatpacking District. I remember being really sort of in shock and awe.THE GOSSIPIt was said you were the holdout on making the movie. Why?Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones): Four years ago I was going through a painful public divorce, the series was coming to an end, and my father was diagnosed with dementia. I felt it was time to be with my real family. A year-and-a-half ago, when I was sent the script, I was ready and strong enough to revisit Samantha. In some ways, I’m glad we waited. The script and the experience of making the movie was the best possible reunion.Mario Cantone (Anthony Marantino): Certain people were vilified in some articles, and others were vilified in other articles. It’s interesting how they never write stuff like that about the men on The Sopranos. They always go after the women. They just do. BETWEEN THE SHEETSDarren Star: These were women who were objectifying men. And it was sort of jarring. Men aren’t used to hearing themselves depersonalized and referred to as Mr. This or Mr. That. I think if you had a show with that sort of locker-room talk from a bunch of guys talking about women, it would be a little “yuck.”Kristin Davis: One time [when Charlotte dropped her robe in front of Trey], I mistakenly showed my nipples. But it was a hard scene to shoot, and I had enjoyed that take so much, I said OK. HBO sent me a copy to approve.Cynthia Nixon: Most of my sex scenes were comic—the dirty talker, the marathon man, the guy who wants to kiss my ass and wants me to do the same to him.The whole interview (which you can read HERE) is a really great read. At this point, I’m still not over the hoopla surrounding the movie. I’ve already enjoyed seeing it a couple of times and wouldn’t mind seeing it again. I may hold off for a while, tho … there are other movies to be seen. Thankfully, there seems to be no shortage of magazine interviews like this Marie Claire one to read to tide me over. [Source]
