Can it be? At long last …? Has Jude Law finally met, in person, the child he fathered with babymama Samantha Burke 5 months ago? Apparently … he has. Jude Law was spotted in Miami, FL this weekend going in to a neutral office to meet with Samantha Burke, her mother and 5 month old Sophia Lee so that terms of child-support could be discussed. As far as we know, this was the first time that Jude laid eyes on his precious newborn baby girl:

The 37-year-old actor sat down with Miss Burke, and his lawyer in Florida to draw up plans on how he should support baby Sophia. It is the first time they have come face-to-face following revelations that the 24-year-old Miss Burke was carrying his love child, now five months old, last summer. He initially met his lawyer Maurice Kutner for six hours last Thursday before the planned meeting with Miss Burke in Miami over the weekend. The actor, who has rekindled his relationship with Sienna Miller, looked harassed as he arrived at the city’s airport the previous day. Baby Sophia was born last September in Florida – Law was not present at the birth. She was conceived during a night Law he had shared with Miss Burke after they met in a nightclub in New York while he was filming Sherlock Holmes in December 2008. She is Law’s fourth child – he has three other children with ex-wife Sadie Frost – but it is Miss Burke’s first. They are believed to have met up on Saturday and were pictured entering an office block where plans for Sophia’s upbringing and maintenance were settled. Blah! I have to say, while I am personally still totally disgusted that Jude has waited this long to meet the child he fathered, I am happy to see that the first meeting has finally taken place. I highly doubt, if the last 5 months are any indication, that Jude plans to have a close relationship with his newest child (at least, for the foreseeable future) but at least he is stepping up to provide for his newest child. At least little Sophia Lee is still too small to know what is going on … I sincerely hope for everyone concerned that Jude decides to have a loving and personal relationship with his daughter by the time she is old enough to understand who her father is. I suppose this is a step in the right direction.

While I can’t say that I necessarily blame mama Burke for selling the photos to Hello! magazine, I do hope that she is smart with the money and socks it away for her daughter should papa Jude Law not step up and care for this child like he does for his other children. And so … it begins. To be honest, I am not surprised at all that Burke decided to sell the photos … celeb babies can generate huge revenues for magazines. I wouldn’t bat an eyelash if Burke also presold the story of her “romance” with Jude Law as well. While I sincerely doubt that the money she made from the sale of these photos will go to a charity, I would hope that Ms. Burke would have the foresight to put the money in a high-interest savings account that could be used for her daughter’s college fund. I ain’t gonna lie … I can’t wait to see what Jude Law‘s new daughter looks like … I bet she’s a doll. I wonder if Jude Law has seen what his new daughter looks like … if not, he can pick up a copy of Hello! magazine and get his first look, too!

The model, who is carrying Jude Law’s fourth child, has posted a series of pictures of her baby bump on the internet. Scantily clad and voluptuous, with her belly swelling out in front, she is almost unrecognisable as the fresh-faced high school student [remembered by high school friends]. Old friends have told the Mail that Miss Burke, now 24, was always part of the ‘popular crowd’ at school in Pensacola, a seaside town in northwestern Florida. As you may recall, on Thursday we learned that Jude Law is going to be the father of his 4th child after he inadvertently got a young actress/model pregs after he enjoyed a fling with her in NYC early this year while he was filming Sherlock Holmes in NYC. On Friday we learned that Jude‘s babymama is a Florida woman named Samantha Burke and, apparently, she had to go thru Jude‘s publicist to inform him of the happy news of their unplanned baby (we learned this, of course, after Burke‘s legal representative reached to to TMZ to ensure that news of her identity was disseminated to the Internets appropriately). Last night, Jude Law greeted his fans in London after he emerged from the West End theater where he is currently starring in a production of Hamlet … and he was lookin’ decidedly more sweaty than usual:

Could it be that news of his new baby is givin’ him the sweats? Could be … after all, the woman he is now saddled with sounds like she was lookin’ to get as close to Jude as possible, being the big fan that she is. Leave it to TMZ to sniff out the “secret” babymama of Jude Law‘s unplanned 4th child … next to Maury Povich, they’re the best source for finding out those nasty celeb paternity secrets that some folks would like to keep hidden. Early Thursday we learned that Jude Law released a statement confirming that he is going to be the father of a 4th child with a then-unnamed woman. Speculation ran rampant that the woman was Rachel McAdams‘s sister Kayleen, since Jude and she fraternized together while he filmed Sherlock Holmes in NYC last year — but McAdams denied that she is the babymama. Subsequently, TMZ figured out that Jude‘s real babymama is an “actress/model” named Samantha Burke … who, in turn, confirmed to TMZ that she is the lucky lady:

This is the mystery woman pregnant with Jude Law’s baby #4. We’ve learned her name is Samantha Burke, an actress and model. Our sources say DNA tests make it a slam dunk — Jude’s the daddy.
