Earlier today we saw Brad Pitt on the cover of the new villain-themed issue of New York Times Magazine wherein he channeled the Henry X character from the David Lynch film Eraserhead. Right now we get to see a couple other actors channeling a couple other Hollywood villains for NYT Magazine. Rooney Mara, who stars in the David Fincher-directed Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, puts her spin on Alex from A Clockwork Orange. Ryan Gosling, who starred in pretty much everything this year — including Drive, Crazy Stupid Love and The Ides of March, puts his spin on Dr. Kemp from The Invisible Man. Click below to check out the amazing photos.
Ryan Gosling, the actor who has a penchant for appearing in 45 movies a year, has made his way to Austin, TX to begin work on a new film called Lawless (when only just moments ago he was hard at work here in LA on the set of Gangster Squad) with a new leading lady. Ryan was spotted cozying up on set with Rooney Mara, the star of the upcoming David Fincher film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Yes, the pair were filming a movie together … but I understand the coziness continued between the two even in between takes. Might this be a new romance in the making?
Yesterday we got a sneak peek at Rooney Mara‘s new Vogue magazine cover and today we get to see some photos from her accompanying photospread. As you may recall, the star of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was lookin’ very lovely on the cover of the magazine … but you ain’t seen nothing yet. Inside the mag, Rooney looks quite stunning. Click below to see what I mean and try not and fall in love with the beautiful Rooney Mara.
Actress Rooney Mara, who has had to undergo a very severe make-over for her lead role in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, is featured on the cover of the November issue of Vogue magazine looking very unlike her on-screen character Lisbeth Salander. This issue of Vogue isn’t out yet but a photo of Rooney on the cover has, as you can see below, made its way to the Internets.
Last week we got our first look at Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig on the cover of Empire magazine as they promoted their new film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Today we get to see a few photos from inside that magazine that feature Rooney and Daniel in character as Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist in a few Dragon Tatoo-inspired poses. Check ‘em out below.
Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig are featured on the cover of the new issue of Empire magazine, marking the FIRST magazine cover for the upcoming David Fincher film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. In the coverstory interview, Fincher himself makes it clear that lead protagonist Lisbeth Salander (played by Mara) is not a superhero figure. She may be a tough chick who kicks ass but her amazing strength comes from very difficult circumstances. It’s an interesting read … check out an excerpt from this issue of Empire below.
In January we got to see very cool new photos of Rooney Mara in character as Lisbeth Salander — The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo — but it was back in October that we last saw her in Stockholm, Sweden filming the US adaptation of Dragon Tattoo. It would appear that she is still hard at work on the film (or one of its sequels) because new photos of Rooney on the movie set have come to light. Check out these photos below.
Yesterday we got to see new photos of Rooney Mara showing off her Girl with the Dragon Tattoo-look on the red carpet at the Palm Springs Film Festival last weekend and I commented that I didn’t really see the character of Lisbeth Salander in the look. Today we get to see amazing photos of Mara IN CHARACTER as Lisbeth Salander on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of W magazine and I absolutely stand corrected … Rooney Mara absolutely has the look down for a new version of Lisbeth Salander, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Last September we got our first look at actress Rooney Mara (The Social Network) in full costume as Lisbeth Salander on the Swedish set of the upcoming David Fincher US remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (you may also recall that in October we got our first look at actor Daniel Craig in character as Mikael Blomkvist on the Dragon Tattoo set). Today we get a closer look at Mara‘s severe Dragon Tattoo look for the first time here in the US in photos from her appearance at last weekend’s 22nd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala.
In early September we got our first look at American actress Rooney Mara in full costume on the Stockholm, Sweden set of the US remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. A couple days later we got to see more photos of Rooney making herself at home in Stockholm as she tired to avoid being noticed by photographers. Today we get to see newer photos of Rooney as she shopped for a few things at a Swedish H&M boutique all by her lonesome over the weekend:
Considering that Rooney and her Dragon Tattoo castmates are going to be in Stockholm for quite some time, it’s nice to see that she is settling in nicely. As you may recall, just a few weeks ago we got to see the first photos of Daniel Craig (who will play Mikael Blomkvist) on the Dragon Tattoo set and, as I understand it, filming production is moving ahead right on schedule. I believe director David Fincher plans to film the Dragon Tattoo Trilogy films back to back … so, Rooney will likely be doing a bit more shopping at H&M in the coming weeks and months.
