Tonight is the big Super Bowl and whether you’re a sports fan or not (I’m not), you cant help getting swept up in all the excitement and festivities. Some of our fave stars are also getting into it… so obviously, we have the Madonna half-time special (OMG! So excited for this!) but some celebs are closely tied to the teams playing tonight, The Giants and The Patriots. Each year, Vanity Fair magazine selects a number of actresses to grace the fold-out cover of their annual Hollywood Issue and today we get our first look at this year’s cover. Jennifer Lawrence, Rooney Mara, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska made it on the main front panel of the cover and as you fold out the full cover we also see that Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling round out this year’s collection of VF Hollywood Issue coverstars. Actress Rooney Mara can currently be seen in movie theaters here in the US (and around the world) as the anti-heroine Lisbeth Salander in the David Fincher-directed film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. This week, she can also be seen on the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine. The Salander character is beloved by many fans of the Stieg Larsson books and films that feature her and this week’s issue of EW seeks to cover that fan love. We are just about a week away from the theatrical premiere of David Fincher‘s version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but last night the Ziegfeld Theater in NYC, NY played host to the North American premiere of the film. Earlier this week, Dragon Tattoo premiered in London but last night it was time — at long last — for the film to make its US debut. When The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo hits theaters December 21, you’re going to see star Rooney Mara transform from the girl next door to a bad ass vigilante out for revenge. If you saw Rooney in The Social Network or Dare, you’ll certainly be shocked by what a little (or a lot of) costuming and make-up can do — let alone her seamless adoption of the take-no-prisoners mantra of Lisbeth Salander. Ryan Gosling, the actor who has a penchant for appearing in 45 movies a year, has made his way to Austin, TX to begin work on a new film called Lawless (when only just moments ago he was hard at work here in LA on the set of Gangster Squad) with a new leading lady. Ryan was spotted cozying up on set with Rooney Mara, the star of the upcoming David Fincher film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Yes, the pair were filming a movie together … but I understand the coziness continued between the two even in between takes. Might this be a new romance in the making?
