Now, I’m not sure what in the world was going on with Vicki B. when she decided to go out in public lookin’ fresh and natural but … I must admit that I really like it. Not only did VB opt out of wearing make-up (the horror!) but she also decided to wear cut-off jean shorts and flip flops! I mean, seriously!

Victoria Beckham took herself off glamour duty during a family day at a Los Angeles hotel over the weekend, reclining poolside without her heels – or make-up. The former Spice Girl, who is rarely seen in public without a full face of foundation, let her guard down while relaxing with her mother Jackie and son Romeo … her au naturel look, complete with pinned back hair, revealed her problem skin, which revealed … she has to work hard to look red carpet-ready. She told Allure magazine: “As you can see, I’m a normal-looking girl, and I just make the best of what I have. I’m not out-of-the-ordinary-looking at all – I’m incredibly ordinary.” And without a hint of irony, she also claimed she doesn’t like being the centre of attention and that in fact, she’s actually uncomfortable in the spotlight. She insisted: “I’m not the kind of person that stands there and loves the attention. It might look that way, but it makes me very, very nervous.”

Hands down, this is the best I’ve ever seen Mrs. Victoria Beckham. She may look fierce and fabulous from time to time but this stripped bare look is so much more appealing. Hello, she looks human rather than robotic. I would love to see more of this kind of Vicki B. rather than the overly made-up, plastic-looking one we see all the time. There is something to be said for natural beauty … I’m glad that VB is finally comfortable enough to show us hers.

The jean shorts and flip-flops, tho? I’m still having a hard time processing. Wow.

David Beckham and his family spent their first 4th of July holiday with their family friends the Cruises in Telluride, CO this weekend. As you may recall, Becks didn’t officially arrive here in the US until July 12 of last year (ahem, on my birthday, I might add) even tho wifey Vicki B. and the boys arrived the month prior to prepare for his arrival, this year was his first chance to enjoy a good ol’ fashioned American Independence Day … and he did so with the Cruise family in Colorado. HMMM. Here are a few pics of Tom Cruise (wearing his nifty cowboy hat) picking up Les Beckhams from the airport this weekend:

I would imagine that all of the Beckhams made their way to Telluride to spend the weekend with the Cruises but Vicki B. does not appear in any of the photos that I’ve seen. Additionally, Katie Holmes wasn’t seen at the airport either but she, most likely, stayed home for the pick-up. It is no secret that the Beckhams and the Cruises are good friends … they tend to spend major holidays and events together (I believe we last saw them all together was at Suri‘s birthday party and then together around Easter). I can’t lie, I am a bit concerned about all this time the families are spending together … I like my Beckhams untouched by crazy and hanging out with the TomKats doesn’t really foster my hopes that they will remain so. That being said, Tom Cruise has really put his bizarre antics on lockdown for the past few months, actually the last year. While it would be great if he actually were sane again, it’s hard to forget all the couch-jumping craziness that he unleashed upon us a couple of years ago. Perhaps the Beckhams are being good influences on them and have been able to counteract the lunacy? I guess only time will tell … in the meantime, the two families continue to hang out together … after all, it is the American way.

Vicki B. stepped out to do a bit of shopping at The Grove earlier this week with a stylist friend and only her middle child (the sweet one) along for the trip … and for some ungodly reason, VB thought it would be a good idea to let her son, Romeo Beckham, venture out in public wearing a pair of sheepskin lined UGGs boots in the sweltering summer heat, behold:

Stiletto aficionado Victoria Beckham once criticised Americans for their love of comfy Ugg boots. But it seems her son doesn’t share her disdain. Romeo, 5, was spotted kicking around LA in sheepskin shoes while on a shopping trip with Posh. The middle Beckham boy followed his mother – and her stylist – as she trawled for new outfits in a range of stores, including Abercrombie & Fitch. Before moving to LA, she said she was unimpressed with the Stateside approach to fashion. Victoria, who is currently working on a new collection of high-end frocks, said at the time: “They dress down quite a lot here, don’t they? It seems to be in keeping to go to Starbucks in tracksuit bottoms and Ugg boots.” And while she has stayed true to her over-styled look, her family has certainly embraced all-American living. As well as fashion, the Beckham boys now also share the US obsession with basketball, and are regulars at LA Lakers games along with their father David. The former Spice Girl has previously said her family has no plans to return to Britain. She says: “We’ve loved every minute so far. I can’t see us going back.”

UHHHH … I don’t even know quite what to say. UGGs boots are a travesty overall (comfy, I know but really unattractive) but to wear them in the summer heat … what ever was dear little Romeo thinking? That boy needs to get a better handle on his fashion choices tout suite before someone comes along and scratches his eyes out!

David Beckham and the family made the most of their time in San Francisco, CA this past week. Not only were Becks and the crew (Vicki B., Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz Beckham) in town for the unveiling of his massive new mural on the Macy’s department store in Union Square but they were also in town for a little rest and relaxation. Taking full advantage of their time in town, Becks took the fam for a day trip visit to Alcatraz prison … here are a couple of pics:

They’re used to luxury surrounds, but the Beckham children got a education in hard living during a visit to Alcatraz yesterday. Victoria and David took their sons Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, seven, and Cruz, three, to the notorious prison, which once housed crime boss Al Capone. Posh, as usual, was overdressed for the occasion, tottering around The Rock in towering wedges and a blue mini dress. She flew into San Francisco to join her husband after his launch of his new Armani underwear campaign.

Way to fuel those Wentworth Miller-inspired prison fantasies, eh? I gotta say … I just love it when Les Beckhams partake in very “touristy” outings like this. When they are home in LA, the family goes about their days just like regular Los Angelinos do … trips to Pink Taco at Century City, The Grove and T.G.I.Friday’s in Woodland Hills show that they enjoy the same things that regular folk do. When they visit other US cities, the family does tend to get into the tourist spirit of things. It’s cute. This is a side of the family that I love to see. The normal side.

The entire Beckham brood spent part of their Wednesday afternoon chillin’ at the Happiest Place on Earth. Becks and Vicki B. packed up the kiddies (Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz) and made their way down to Anaheim, CA for a family day visit to Disneyland! While this information isn’t all that Earth-shattering, I think many of y’all will be very surprised to know that VB, Posh Spice herself, not only dressed down and hit the park in a pair of baggy jeans … but she also decided to wear flat shoes — flip-flops, y’all! If it wasn’t for the sunglasses and the scowl, you’d be forgiven for not recognising Victoria Beckham. The former Spice Girl traded in her signature skinny trousers for a rather manly pair of baggy jeans while on a family trip to Disneyland. Posh looked like she’d raided her husband’s wardrobe, teaming the loose-fitting denim with a cleavage-covering black t-shirt. And for once, practicality overruled fashion in the footwear department, with Posh resigning herself to a pair of flip flops instead of her signature six-inch heels. The jeans proved a particularly unusual choice, considering Posh has spent months promoting her own dVb brand of slim-line denim both in the US and UK … And now it seems not even Posh is a fan of her own trademark look. She was joined by her husband David and sons Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, seven, and Cruz, three, but six hours in the Californian sun was too much for the littlest Beckham, who was soon fast asleep.

I love it! I can’t believe it, but I love it. Now, I have no idea where she got that outfit from (my guess is that she borrowed it from one of her many, many servants [possibly, the gardener]) but I totally dig that she’s able to dress down and go casual every once in a while … er, well, every once.
