Congratulations are in order for Precious actress Paula Patton and her crooner hubby Robin Thicke who yesterday welcomed the birth of their first child, a baby boy they named Julian Fuego!

Robin Thicke and his actress wife Paula Patton welcomed their first child, Julian Fuego, on Tuesday in Los Angeles, PEOPLE has confirmed exclusively. “Mother, father and son are all doing well,” says Thicke’s rep. The crooner had canceled his portion of Tuesday night’s show at the Staples Center for “personal reasons.” But his tour mate, Alicia Keys, offered her congratulations from the stage … High school sweethearts Thicke, 32, and Patton, 34, will celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary in June.

My boy MK who writes Popbyes tweeted from the Alicia Keys concert last night and let us all know about Julian‘s birth as soon as Alicia announced why Robin was absent from last night’s show:

It seems to me that Paula was pregs for a really long time … I’m so happy that little Julian Fuego finally decided to make his debut. I’m certain that Robin is OVER THE MOON with happiness at the arrival of his baby boy. Much love and congrats goes out to the happy couple on the happy news of their family expansion. I can’t wait to see what the wee one looks like :)

Last month we got to see a bunch of behind the scenes photos from the set of Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester‘s new music video Somebody to Love. As you may know, Somebody features sexy crooner Robin Thicke on vocals and, therefore, is also featured in the video … here are a few screencaps:

You know, anytime you throw Robin Thicke into the mix … it’s gonna be sexy time. Leighton and Robin have some of their own scenes in this video but it’s the scenes where they are together that really make the vid work … at least for me. Newcomer Gabourey Gabby Sidibe was joined by some of Hollywood’s elite, including Oprah Winfrey, at the Hollywood premiere of her new film Precious which is based on the book Push written by Sapphire. As you may or may not know, Precious has been getting serious awards show buzz for its stark portrayal of a young girl’s life and her struggle to overcome her circumstances in order to save her own life. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals at Grauman’s Chinese Theater last night and some deets about the Precious premiere:

With its U.S. limited release closing in by days, “Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire” has got a red carpet treatment in Los Angeles. The premiere, held on Sunday, November 1 at Grauman’s Chinese Theater, was a part of the drama movie’s participation at AFI Fest 2009, which runs from October 30 to November 7. Many of the cast members were present for the special screening event. Leading actress Gabourey Sidibe was present along with several of her co-stars, including Mo’Nique who stars as Precious’ mother Mary, Paula Patton who portrays Ms. Rain and Mariah Carey who takes on Mrs. Weiss. All of the last three mentioned actresses came to the premiere in the arms of their husbands. Mo’Nique was accompanied by Sidney Hicks, Paula by her singer/songwriter husband Robin Thicke, and Mariah by her actor/comedian/rapper hubby Nick Cannon. Joining them at the red carpet were director Lee Daniels as well as executive producer Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry. The festivity also managed to draw in a handful of celebrity guests. Mary J. Blige was spotted arriving with husband Kendu Isaacs, while actor Sidney Poitier tagged along his daughter Sydney Poitier. Other celebrities attending the premiere included Paula Abdul, Will Smith and Olivia Wilde. “Precious” is set in Harlem in 1987 and revolves around Claireece “Precious” Jones, an overweight, illiterate sixteen-year-old African-American girl born into a life no one would want. Abused by her mother and raped by her father, she is pregnant for the second time and reaches the ninth grade without being able to read or write. Instead of being swallowed by depression, she tries to break from the chains of ignorance by digging deep into her own resources. November 6 will be the date the movie originally titled “Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire” opens in limited theaters across the country.

I’ve started reading Push, the book this movie is based on, and I’ve already been gutted by the tale. I can already tell that when I see this movie, and I will be seeing this movie as soon as I possibly can, I will bawl my eyes out. I’m so curious to see how this group of actors — Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, Mariah Carey — bring this story to life. I’ve only read amazing things about the film’s star, Gabby Sidibe, so … I think we are in for a revelation when this film opens. Have any of y’all read the book? Congratulations are in order for sexy crooner Robin Thicke and Paula Patton his sexy wife of 4 years … at long last the happy couple are pregs with their first child!

Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton are expecting their first child, Usmagazine.com has learned. On Tuesday, the two – who began dating in high school before wedding in 2005 – got cozy at the 2009 Angel Ball in New York City. Thicke, 32, was happy to sing her praises. “She could make a marriage work with a chair,” he told Us of Patton, 33, who is currently shooting the Queen Latifah comedy, Just Wright. “She’s an incredible woman, and she’s very beautiful, so I’m just lucky to be with her.” Asked how they work so well together, Patton told Us, “He’s … amazing!”

I have to say … it’s about time. I’m sure countless babies have already been made by countless couples makin’ the sweet love to Robin Thicke‘s music … it’s only fitting that Thicke and his wife make a baby of their own. Much love and congrats goes out to the happy couple … after all, as long as they keep on givin’ they can take anything that comes their way. Baby, rain or shine, all the time they got each other sharin’ the laughter and love.

Ye gods, there is a lot of stuff to talk about today … it’s all piling up and I can’t even get to it all. Of course the ChRihanna story is just bananas … there is even more new information about last night’s incident and the rammifications that have sprung up as a result — as well as other great goss stories that I’m gonna try to get to. But first, lemme post a few things about David’s and my Grammy Awards experience last night. Since we were lucky enough to attend last night’s show, we got to see the whole shebang live and in person. We had a blast … even tho the show was kinda long … it really felt like being at a concert. Here are a few of the pics that I snapped of Whitney Houston when she came out on stage:

But for most of the show, I didn’t take very many photos. I was too bizzy Twittering and gathering info on Chris Brown. The official afterparty, tho, that was a whole lotta fun … mainly cuz the food was so good. They had these huge tables set up with HEAPS of shrimp, crab, oysters … I won’t even tell you how many times I went back for more ;) We were treated to a live performance by Robin Thicke and the food and drink was everywhere. Here are a few pics from the afterparty:

The party itself was Hippie-themed … and not very well. The dancers were not very impressive, in fact, I found them very unsettling. It was all I could do to keep shoveling shrimp into my face to be distracted.

Again, we had a blast … much love goes out to my friend Zlata at ABSOLUT Vodka, again, for the kind hook-up. So much fun!

See, the hat deffo works on a guy like Prince but I’m not sure it’s really right for Robin. I get the look that he’s going for is that sexy, Prince-like vibe but I much prefer seeing him full-on, not hiding underneath a hat. Still, the man is a sexy beast no matter what he’s wearing. I quite LOVE his last album and can’t wait to hear what new sexiness he’s got on his new album.
