A new fan-recorded video has made its way to the Internets that appears to show Rihanna fainting while on stage with Chris Brown during a concert in Sydney, Australia this week. Because the video is choppy and not very clear, it’s not entirely clear just what happened to Rihanna during this incident but her spokespeople are saying that she did not faint, that she is “fine” and will be ready to perform at future shows. Here is the video in question, so that you can judge for yourself and info provided by Rihanna‘s people explaining what they say happened:

Rihanna may have had a rough night Down Under on Thursday, but contrary to other online reports, she didn’t faint on stage, Access Hollywood has learned. The pop star clutched her stomach while running off stage during a performance of “Umbrella” in Australia in footage posted on YouTube, and was rumored to have passed out shortly after. “It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna’s set was over, she went off stage and needed to sit down, catch her breath and have some water,” a rep for the star said in a statement to Access. “She is perfectly healthy and will be at her show tomorrow.” The star was joined on “Umbrella” by boyfriend Chris Brown, who finished the song solo after Rihanna left the stage.

I’m not sure if it really matters if the girl fainted, was dehydrated or simply wanted to sit her ass down … homegirl has been working like a mad woman for months now. I don’t blame Miss Ri Ri if she decided to say, “Later, bitches … I’m gonna take a nap right now” after all the hard work she’s being doing since she hit it big with her song Umbrella last year. I hope she did get rehydrated or unfaited or whatever and gets some rest. I got a soft spot in my heart for the little Miss … I don’t want her gettin’ ill or nothin’.

Rihanna teamed up with Justin Timberlake this weekend to shoot a new music video for her song Rehab which also features JT on vocals. The pair amped up the sexual energy on the SoCal set of the vid enough to get tongues wagging — should Chris Brown and Jessica Biel be worried? Here are a few pics from the Rehab set:

JESSICA BIEL and CHRIS BROWN, I’d advise you to look away. Your hot other halves sent temperatures soaring with their raunchy moves on the set of the music vid for RIHANNA’s new song featuring JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. No wonder JT is so keen to lend his vocal talents to collaborations when he gets to spend his days bumping and grinding with such sexy pop hotties as Rihanna. Though the pair are very much committed to their respective partners, there’s no doubt they struck up a sizzling chemistry on the Rehab shoot. Dressed in a dress-cum-swimming costume, Rihanna rubbed up against the SexyBack star in the blazing LA sun and bent over without inhibition. Which probably explains why Justin couldn’t resist the occasional peak at her body.

Damn. It looks like they are making a hawt-ass video. Rihanna looks amazing …that girl is all legs. I hope that JT does more than just scowl and glare at her in the vid … I wouldn’t mind seein’ a little bump and grind action betwixt these two. I thought that Rihanna and Adam Lavine from Maroon 5 looked good on screen together but they were both wearing too much clothing. I can’t wait to see how this video will turn out.

Clearly, the couple didn’t want to be spotted together but it remains unclear whether they were trying to keep their secret loveaffair from being detected or if they were just embarrassed that they got papped at KFC again:

You know what, I ain’t even gonna front … I can appreciate these two’s lurve for KFC … they got the bomb popcorn chicken and those potato wedges? MMM MMM. That’s some good stuff right there. Sometimes I’m in the mood for their mash potatoes and gravy and I dip the popcorn chicken in the gravy … yeah man, that shizz is the bomb. I actually can’t even hate on Chris and Ri Ri for spending so much time at KFC … in fact, I think I know what I’m having for lunch today. Mebbe I’ll see them there.

I mean … I don’t really get the astronaut vibe of this album artwork but I can appreciate that homegirl opted out of wearing the gaudy red lipstick so … thumbs up. In other Hollywood “It” Girl music news … Lindsay Lohan‘s new single Playground will be released to radio on September 30th and will be available for sale on iTunes on October 7th. Her album Spirit In The Dark will drop November 4th. Beyoncé will 2 new singles on the same day that both Rihanna (Breakin’ Dishes) and Britney Spears (Womanizer) are set to release their singles (October 7th). If I Were A Boy (which reportedly has a pop feel) and Single Ladies (which, again reportedly, has a more “urban” feel) are both set to be released before her as-yet untitled new album is released in December. OH and don’t forget … Britney‘s Womanizer track will be released to radio tomorrow. Yeesh … there is awful lot of girlpop coming our way … um, or should I just say a lot of awful girlpop music is coming — run for you life?

Last Saturday I posted a few pics of Rihanna‘s performance at the 5th annual Fashion Rocks event at Radio City Music Hall in NYC (that was filmed live on Friday night). Fashion Rocks aired on CBS last night and today we get to watch her performance online:

Love it! Love it! I had heard that Ri Ri killed this performance and I’m happy to see that those reports are absolutely true. Don’t get me wrong, no one can really top Madonna but I think that Rihanna did an amazing homage performance of the song. What do y’all think?

Okay, even tho I already devoted an entire post to Britney Spears‘s triumphant night at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, any mention of the show by ALL of the press (including THIS report from Time magazine) seems to devote a good portion of their reporting to Miss Britney Spears. But, there were other people and other things going on at the VMAs yesterday … here are a few pics of some of the folks who walked the red carpet yesterday (it should be noted that Britney did not walk the red carpet, choosing instead to keep her revelation of the night strictly for the show itself):

For the most part, I found the red carpet pretty tame … I mean, there really weren’t that many “hot messes” to speak of. Of course you had your usual poor fashion choices (that red and black dress did not really work on P!nk for me, nor did I like Rihanna‘s outfit choice … Xtina looked hawt!) but that’s to be expected. Personally, I had a hard time focusing while on the red carpet … we were lined up in the blazing SoCal sun hours before the first celeb walked the carpet … it wasn’t that pleasant. I did get to snap some fun pics and meet a few very COOL folks … but I’ll post those pics a bit later on.

As for the show itself, I have not yet been able to watch it in its entirety, properly but I did manage to catch most of it on the huge screens that were plastered all over the VIP green room last night. Rihanna was among the attendees and performers at Conde Nast Media Group‘s 5th Anniversary Fashion Rocks concert event which took place at Radio City Music Hall in NYC last night … and from what I understand from some folks who were in the audience last night, homegirl turned that mutha out. For Rihanna‘s performance on the show, she decided to pay homage to the queen herself — she performed her own version of Madonna‘s Vogue:

Loves it! This is such a brills idea. Both Rihanna and Madonna are single-name stars, nothing seems more appropriate than Ri Ri performing a Madge song. I’m sure it was an amazing performance, I’m looking forward to seeing it when Fashion Rocks airs this Tuesday night. Incidentally, there is a report going around that Katy Perry is planning to perform Like A Virgin at the 2008 MTV VMAs on Sunday night … personally and totally biasedly, my money is on Rihanna for the hotter Maddy tribute :)

Celebs and musicians of all sorts made their way out to Radio City Music Hall in NYC last night to be a part of Conde Nast Media Group‘s 5th Anniversary Fashion Rocks concert event, which seeks to honor and celebrate the convergence of music and fashion. Here are a few pics from the Fashion Rocks red carpet arrivals:

Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus and Charlize Theron were among the celebrities who appeared at the fifth annual Fashion Rocks concert celebrating the relationship between music and fashion. They walked the red carpet Friday night at Radio City Music Hall amid a media circus angling for glamour shots of other stars including Fergie, Rihanna, Chris Brown and the “Gossip Girl” gang. Brown, the R&B heartthrob, soaked up all the attention with a smile as he showed off his dapper ensemble of a black vest and shirt, gray pants, shiny shoes and diamond stud earrings. “To be a musician and a great entertainer, you have to be a trendsetter. To be a trendsetter, you have to know fashion — and I have fun with it,” explained the singer, who later changed into khakis and a black shirt and scarf for a performance of his hit song “Forever.” The event will air Tuesday in a two-hour special on CBS. Proceeds will benefit Stand Up To Cancer, a program established by the Entertainment Industry Foundation to raise money for cancer research. Stand Up To Cancer held a live telethon that aired simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS on Friday night … Other performers included Timberlake, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Duffy, the Pussycat Dolls and the Black Eyed Peas. A highlight was Timberlake and Beyonce’s sizzling duet of “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing,” which channeled the soulful sound of the classic song’s original singers, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Stars mingled and sipped cocktails backstage in the green room, where Leighton Meester of the CW teen drama “Gossip Girl” and her actor-beau Sebastian Stan hung out before she introduced Duffy’s performance of “Mercy.” Meester’s “Gossip” co-star Chace Crawford chatted up actress Hayden Panettiere, who embraced her rock-star side in a silver Ferragamo minidress and black heels. “I usually try to mix class and then really funk it out,” Panettiere said of her personal style. “It’s rock meets class. I try — not always succeed, but I try.”

Wow, this really does sound like a star-studded event … I can’t wait to check it out when it airs on Tuesday night. I understand there were some very cool performances, including one from Rihanna that I will be talking about in a bit. Sarah writes: I was at Short Pump Town Center (Richmond, VA) yesterday and guess who were there? Chris Brown and Rihanna! They were super cute and holding hands. They also spent a lot of time in the jewelry store so I’m pretty sure he bought her something … you know, because he can.
