It has been only two months since her break-up with Jake Gyllenhaal. But it seems Reese Witherspoon is already enjoying the company of another man. The Oscar winner, 33, was spotted having an intimate meal for two with Hollywood agent Jim Toth at an Italian restaurant last week. A fellow diner at Locanda Portofino in Santa Monica said the actress and her handsome companion were ‘very flirtatious’ and ‘very friendly’ during their meal. Witherspoon met Toth – who works for the Creative Artists Agency – in the restaurant and spent two hours huddled with him in a corner. An onlooker told People magazine: ‘They were very flirtatious throughout dinner. ‘They were having a lot of fun, totally getting along and laughing and talking the whole dinner. ‘Reese seemed very happy. The mood was upbeat and really good.’ After the meal, Toth paid the bill and the two parted with a warm kiss in the car park. The onlooker added: ‘Reese reached around his neck and pulled him close for a hug. They kissed bye on the cheek – but it was a very friendly goodbye.’ A friend of Toth’s told the magazine the dinner had been ‘a date’, but added it was ‘nothing serious’.

HMMM … well, if Britney can get her groove on with her agent, I can’t see why Reese can’t knock boots with an agent of her own. This Toth fellow looks pretty handsome in these photos and even if things aren’t serious, there’s no reason to believe that they cannot get serious in the future. We’ll have to wait and see if these two go out on another date before we jump to any “in love” conclusions. I would just LOOOOOVE to see Reese hook up with this guy. They look like a cute couple, don’tcha think?

From E! News’s Marc Malkin: Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal know how to quit each other. The couple is no longer together. Sources confirm that the two decided to end their relationship about two weeks ago. People magazine actually reported the split back then, but reps for both stars insisted they were still very much in love. Reps are not commenting this time around. So what went down? “They needed time to figure it out and they were on different coasts,” a source says. “When they were finally together, they talked it out and decided they’re not going to be together anymore.” One source insists it’s completely amicable. “There are no other people involved,” the source said. “The relationship just ended. It just fizzled. But they also wanted to be careful and private about it because of Reese’s kids.” Our source also shot down recent reports claiming that Gyllenhaal was planning on popping the question. (FYI: Gyllenhaal seemed perfectly happy when we saw him just three days ago at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards in downtown L.A.)

Yep, I knew it … I knew it 2 weeks ago but, well, you know how these things play out. I shall refrain from mentioning this time around any desire to do cartwheels over this news (like I did last time) for fear of a lynching by rabid GyllenSpoon fans … this time around, I’ll just say that some relationships are just not meant to be and I wish them both a lifetime of happiness from here on out. Contrary to what some may believe, I do feel it is sad when a couple breaks up but if the split is amicable (as this report suggests) and the “love” just fizzles out … well … I guess it’s for the best that the couple stop pretending.

Boo. I mean, I guess I’d expect the reps to deny a report like this but … well … I went and got my hopes up and everything. I guess we’ll have to see if these two rush out to be photographed together to see where things stand. Reese Witherspoon has fueled rumors that she is set to tie the knot with partner Jake Gyllenhaal after she was spotted flaunting a gold band on her wedding finger. A source said, “Reese looked delighted, and she was definitely showing off the ring. She kept holding her finger up for people to see, she even flashed it around when she was getting in her car.” A photograph taken by X17Online reveals that the band is made up of three interlocking strips of gold, two of which have solid gold baubles on them. A small golden star is stuck to the top strip, and sits against Reese’s finger. Neither Reese nor Jake’s representatives have commented on the claims. This is not the first time that reports circulated on the couple’s plan to get married, who began dating in 2007. Earlier this year, Jake was spotted ring shopping in New York. In March, it was claimed Reese removed a sparkly band during a photo shoot as she didn’t want people to know she was planning to walk down the aisle. A source said at the time, “It was gorgeous, and everyone noticed it right away. But she took it off as soon as she saw people staring. Reese stuffed it in her bag and didn’t put it on again the rest of the day.”

Personally, I don’t think they’re engaged … and if they are, then that is one lame ring. The ring looks more like a gift she got from her kids than from her “fianceé”. I’m gonna hold off on the congrats just yet … besides, Jakey poo wouldn’t do this to us, would he?

Nothin’ too excitin’ … nothin’ really to see just … strollin’. It seems evident that GyllenSpoon are still very much together, happy as clams, which is very heartening. And altho these two as a couple are about as thrilling as drying paint on a wall, it’s encouraging that they appear to still be going strong … and in lurve … or whatever. Tho, while it looked like Reese was having a blast, Jakey poo did NOT look like he was having a good time. It’s unclear exactly why he was so pissy but mebbe he wasn’t too keen on the photogs getting snaps of Reese while she was so inebriated. As a world famous superstar, being seen in public wearing the same outfit as someone else is a definite no no. But Hollywood A-listers Jake Gyllenhaal, 28, and Reese Witherspoon, 33, didn’t seem to mind when they arrived at the gym in Washington wearing matching work-out kits today. Of course the happily dating twosome may well have planned to co-ordinate their gym gear of blue shorts and cap, grey t-shirt and trainers. Smiling and laughing, they walked hand-in-hand through the streets after their work-out.

Reese Witherspoon is taking on a new role this fall — that of perfumer. The Academy Award-winning actress has teamed up with Avon Products Inc. to launch her first fragrance, called In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon. While Witherspoon has spent the last two years serving as Avon’s global ambassador and brand spokeswoman, creating a fragrance marked something of a new endeavor for the 33-year-old. “It was a unique experience for me because I had no idea what goes into making perfumes,” said Witherspoon, who sat down at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills last month to discuss her new scent. “I thought you just pick a fragrance and it’s easy. But there were all these different levels of creating a scent that were new to me, but really fun and exciting.” Witherspoon admitted that while the nearly two-year development process was more “complicated” than she imagined, it was also a bit of a natural extension for her. “I’m such a girly girl anyways,” she said during a trip to New York last week, where she emerged from her hotel suite wearing a pink Valentino dress and matching Christian Louboutin heels. “I really enjoy makeup and perfume.” Due out globally in November, In Bloom is the largest fragrance initiative this year for Avon, which has slowly been building its scent stable by collaborating with designers such as Emanuel Ungaro and Christian Lacroix and celebrities like Derek Jeter and Patrick Dempsey. Witherspoon — who has an Oscar for best actress under her belt for her 2006 role as June Carter Cash in “Walk the Line” as well as leading roles in box-office hits like “Legally Blonde” and “Sweet Home Alabama” — undoubtedly adds a new level of star power to the direct-sales giant’s lineup. “It’s really our first global women’s celebrity fragrance,” said Tracy Haffner, Avon’s vice president of global fragrance marketing and strategic alliances. “Our alliance strategy is meant to be diverse. We will never be only celebrities or only designers.” While Avon declined to discuss sales projections, industry sources estimated that In Bloom could surpass $15 million in first-year sales. “We’re hoping for great results,” Haffner said. “Our past alliances have performed extremely well and our success with Bond Girl 007 and Ungaro and Lacroix has really raised our profile in the marketplace.”

Yes, yes … I know what you’re thinking — the world doesn’t need another celebrity fragrance. But, considering that this one comes from sweet little Reese (rather than say from fishy Paris Hilton) it prolly will smell just as sweet. Oh and it occurred to me that mebbe Reese’s aroma is what lured Jake Gyllenhaal to her in the first place. I plan on buying up cases of this stuff and bathing in it … you know, just in case. Are there any kind Avon ladies in the WeHo area that might help me out?
