Last February we learned the fairly shocking news that Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen got engaged to be hitched (even more surprising, we learned the couple had been secretly engaged since last December) but almost as soon as the news broke that the couple were engaged, they seemed to fall off the face of the planet. Rarely have the couple been seen out in public together so, in all honesty, I had forgotten that they were even engaged … fess up, did you remember they were engaged before reading this post? BUT, I came upon new photos of R. Bils out and about here in SoCal yesterday and homegirl was flashing her engagement bling like nobodies biz … I guess she really wanted to remind us that she is really gettin’ hitched:

HMMM … well, at least that’s a nice ring. And as they say, where there’s a ring, there’s a guy with really great taste in jewelry … which still makes the whole Bilson engaged to Christensen thing still seem a bit weird. I gotta say … I never really saw Hayden Christensen as a ladies man … but, well, I guess he is. Seeing this ring on Rachel’s finger just drives home the fact further that she and Adam Brody will prolly never get back together again :( Ah well … she looks happy. A rock that big would make anyone happy, right?

Congratulations are in order for Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen … it is being reported today that the couple are engaged to be wed — and have been since December! The couple have kept the news quiet … until now. RayDen are gettin’ hitched, y’all:

Rachel Bilson and her longtime beau, Hayden Christensen, got engaged quietly over the holidays, PEOPLE has learned. According to a friend of the actress, the two, who costarred in 2008’s Jumper, got engaged in December. “They’re so excited,” says the pal, adding that no wedding date has been set. “They’re a great couple. Rachel seems thrilled beyond belief.” When contacted, Bilson’s rep told PEOPLE, “I don’t comment on my clients’ personal lives.” A rep for Christensen could not immediately be reached for comment. The engagement news was first reported by the New York Post’s Page Six.

According to Page Six, Rachel was spied wearing a huge engagement ring and when asked by a fellow passenger on a plane whether or not she was married confessed that she was merely engaged:

A Page Six spy spotted Bilson on a Virgin America flight from LA to JFK Monday night with her mom and tells us the actress is engaged to longtime beau Hayden Christensen. “A man sitting in front of her on the plane saw a ring on her finger and asked if she was married,” said our snitch, who overheard Bilson reply, “I’m not married yet, just engaged. I know I look like I’m 15, but I’m actually 27.”

Truth be told, I never really saw Rachel and Hayden sticking it out for the long run but I am very glad to see that they proved me wrong. Love should always be celebrated, well … almost always. While I STILL wish that Rachel was attached to her former boyfriend Adam Brody, I wish her and Hayden nothing but a lifetime of happiness together!!! Congrats!!

Woot! A new day has dawned here in America … and the World … and while there is still much to celebrate, there is also much work to get done in the aftermath. It’s also time to get back to the goss ;) Yesterday I created a photo album of friends and Pink readers proudly showing off the I Voted stickers (or handmade signs) that they were given after they voted yesterday and today we get to see a whole bunch of photos of celebs showing off their I Voted stickers, too. Americans came out in record numbers to vote yesterday and those numbers included celebs … here are a few of them who exercised their right to vote yesterday:

I’m pretty sure that some of these celebs were voting for President for the first time in their lives and it seems pretty safe to assume that the lion’s share of them added to President-elect Barack Obama’s historic win.

Madonna was in concert in San Diego, CA last night and was on stage when news of Obama’s win was announced … she happily broke the news to her assembled audience and talked a little bit about the momentous nature of the win while on stage. After the jump, check out video of her impromptu speech …
