Heidi Klum Gets Nekkid To Promote ‘Project Runway’

Heidi Klum has stripped herself bare for a new promo poster announcing the upcoming 9th season of Project Runway on Lifetime TV. In an apparent attempt to lure viewers to the show by using her sex appeal, Klum‘s nekkid body is covered only by half a necktie and her arm in this new poster … which you can check out below.

Tim Gunn Weighs In On The Season 8 Finale Of ‘Project Runway’

Last Thursday Lifetime TV aired the finale episode of, IMHO, the WORST season of Project Runway in the show’s 8 season life and I was so insulted and offended as a fan by the outcome of the final judging that I couldn’t even blog about the outcome because I felt so let down by a show that I once loved so fiercely. Entertainment Weekly posted an inspired episode recap HERE that really spoke for me and, I’m sure, many of the loyal PR fans who felt slighted by the outcome of this most recent season of the show. Curiously, judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors (the ones responsible for choosing the winning designer this season) canceled interviews to discuss the finale of Project Runway (most notably, they canceled an interview with Entertainment Weekly) and, in fact, no one involved with the show wants to talk about or defend what I feel was the WORST judging mistake in Project Runway history. The amazing Tim Gunn, tho, did go on the record … kinda … about the outcome of this season of Project Runway in comments he made at a Kate Spade event in Pennsylvania over the weekend:

Watch: ‘Little Project Runway’

The industrious folks who brought us those entertaining videos of little kids doing reenactments of Jersey Shore, The Hills and The Real Housewives of New Jersey now bring us those same cute kids putting their spin on Project Runway:

Project Runway is one of my favorite competitive reality TV shows … so just how does it hold up to the Little Kid treatment? Find out, after the jump …

Meet The ‘Project Runway’ Season 8 Contestants

On Tuesday we got our first look at the first promo video released for the upcoming 8th season of Project Runway (which begins airing on Lifetime on July 29). Today we get our first look at the cast of 17 contestants who will compete this season for the big PR prize. Say hello to the first 9 contestants:

The cast this year looks like it’s gonna skew a little younger. There are a lot of designers in their 20s, which means they will likely bring the drama to the work room. It’s easy to see from these new faces how they might remind us of past contestants but until we see them in action, we really can’t judge them with any accuracy … but it’s fun to try anyways. After the jump, meet the rest of the Project Runway Season 8 contestants …

First Look: ‘Project Runway’ Season 8

Great news, Project Runway fans! A whole new season of the show is nearly upon us and not only do we have 90 min. weekly episodes to look forward … not only do we have the companion show On the Road with Austin & Santino to look forward to … BUT NOW we learn that Selma Blair will be featured on season 8 as one of the latest celeb judges to appear on the show:

When Project Runway returns with its new 90-minute show, Heidi Klum and company will welcome another celebrity guest judge. Actress Selma Blair will join the ranks of Eva Longoria Parker, Lindsay Lohan, Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie and Faith Hill, who had the honor of guest judging last season’s finale. “We’ve been wanting to have Selma Blair on Project Runway for a while,” executive producer Jane Cha says. “She is so chic and has great individual style.” And Blair will help make a crucial decision for the show. With 17 designers, instead of the typical 16, the first challenge of season 8 will serve as the final part of the show’s audition process. Contestants will have five hours to design a garment, using a signature piece from a competitor’s luggage. “[Blair] ended up being a perfect guest judge for our first challenge — super knowledgeable about fashion and the show, because she’s a fan,” Cha continues. “She had some hilarious observations, including a comparison to Romy and Michelle shopping buddies!” Project Runway‘s new season kicks off July 29 at a new time (9 p.m. EST) on Lifetime.

I LOVE Selma Blair (not so much on the tragic US remake of the brilliant Aussie comedy Kath & Kim) and I think she will make a great addition to the show. I don’t know about you but I still really love Project Runway and I am really excited about the show’s return. I hadn’t even realized that the season 8 premiere is just around the corner. I’m telling you, I need some new TV to watch this Summer already … Project Runway will fit the bill nicely. After the jump, check out the first promo video to be released for PR 8

Tim Gunn Is Unveiling A New ‘Project Runway’ Catchphrase

Tim Gunn, speaking at a street renaming ceremony in NYC this week, has revealed that he is adding another catchphrase to the arsenal of critiques that he offers contestants on the hit competitive reality TV series Project Runway. Everyone knows that he is famous for the saying Make it work! But now, Tim wants us to know that he will be uttering (and, to my recollection, has been uttering for many years now) the catchphrase, This worries me:

Tim Gunn has a new catchphrase: “This worries me.” The Project Runway mentor was on hand — with judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors — to celebrate the temporary naming of Project Runway Avenue in New York City’s Fashion District on Wednesday. “There isn’t a single challenge without lots of ‘make it work’ moments,” Gunn told PEOPLE at the event. “I’m afraid ['this worries me'] is going to become a catchphrase because I say it so frequently.” In fact, Gunn has good reason to worry about the contestants competing on the show’s seventh season, which premieres Thursday (10 p.m. EST) on Lifetime with Nicole Richie as a guest judge. “I’m calling it the season of the sashay because no matter how urgent our deadlines are, no matter how far behind we are, the designers just sort of waltz around our workroom as if we have all the time in the world,” Gunn said, “and we don’t.” The street naming, which turned Fashion Avenue into Project Runway Avenue in front of the iconic “Needle Threading a Button” sculpture at 39th Street, also marked the design competition’s return to New York … And not only will the move back to the Big Apple from Los Angeles inspire the designers, Gunn also embraces the change. “I’m thrilled,” he said. “This is my home. I’m happy I can sleep in my own bed.”

Ah Tim … new/old catchphrases or not, I love your guts to death! The new 7th season of Project Runway, back to NYC, premieres tonight on Lifetime TV and I’m really excited to get back into the swing of weekly PR eps. Whether the new batch of contestants worry Tim or make it work, I can’t wait to tune in and see it all go down.

Back so soon, Back in New York
Meet The Cast Of ‘Project Runway’ Season 7

Project Runway Season 6 may have only just ended last month but Lifetime TV wants you to know that Season 7 of the show (already filmed and in the can) will debut next month. That’s right folks, everyone’s fave competitive reality TV series ain’t wastin’ no time to bring us the goods. Here is our first look at the poster artwork for the new season of Project Runway:

While last season’s PR was filmed in LA, this new 7th season takes the action back to New York City! Here are a couple of promo pics of the new cast of contestants along with the season’s new models and the press release explaining all the Season 7 fun!

Lifetime Television and The Weinstein Company heat up winter with the return of 2009’s highest rated cable reality program among Women 18+ and in Households, Project Runway, as the series heads back to New York for an all-new season. Premiering on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 10PM ET/PT, host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn, judges Michael Kors (leading designer) and Nina Garcia (fashion director for Marie Claire magazine) will be joined by 16 new designers vying for a shot to make their way to Bryant Park and show their collection in front of top industry insiders during New York Fashion Week. For Project Runway Season Seven, designers return to the Atlas apartments, Parsons work room and revisit the Manhattan Mood as they create their couture visions for the runway. As part of the winner’s prize package, the victorious designer will receive an editorial feature in Marie Claire magazine, the opportunity to sell their line on Bluefly.com, a $50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel to create, design and run their business, and a cash prize of $100,000 from L’Oréal Paris to launch their own fashion line. Season Two of Models of the Runway launches at 11:00PM ET/PT, beginning January 14, 2010, with 16 fresh faces aspiring for their chance at being paired with the last Project Runway designer standing on the catwalk. Models of the Runway provides a back-stage look at Project Runway from the models’ perspective. The winning model will receive a $25,000 cash prize from L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Professional make-up line and will also be featured in the designer’s fashion spread in Marie Claire. L’Oréal Paris cosmetics line and the haircare, styling and haircolor brand Garnier will return to serve as the official category partners for both series. In addition, Project Runway and Models of the Runway will be in High-Definition, where available, for the first time. Both series are produced by The Weinstein Company, Miramax Films, Bunim-Murray Productions and Full Picture.

Wee!! I loved last season’s PR and I am very excited that the show will be back so soon! As much as I liked that the gang were here in LA, I think the show works better in NYC … I think bringing the show back home to the Big Apple will resonate well with longtime fans. After the jump, check out promo pics of the PR contestants and find out who they are and where they are from …

‘Project Runway’s Triumphant Return

Lord have MERCY it is hot and humid here in NYC. I managed to get out and into SoHo late yesterday afternoon but I about suffocated from the muggy/humid air. Thank goodness the subway train I used was air-conditioned cuz I might’ve died right on the spot. Whew. I dunno how NYers make it thru the Summers here … they should spend the Summer in SoCal ;) I ended up just staying in last night to watch all the new Project Runway programming on Lifetime TV:

The Project Runway: All-Star Challenge aired at 8PM, the first ep of the new season of PR aired at 10PM and the new series Models of the Runway aired at 11PM — it was a full night of Project Runway fun! After the jump, check out some of my musings from last night’s TV so as to keep the spoilers out of sight for those of you who have yet to watch the eps …

Lifetime TV Releases An Official Trailer For ‘Project Runway’ Season 6

Earlier this week Lifetime TV released a new promo video that introduced the 16 new designers from season 6 of Project Runway and at the time I commented that I wasn’t really feelin’ the emotional vibe that the promo vid was puttin’ out. While it’s nice to meet the designers in this way, the video did not feel at all like it was “Project Runway“. Today we get our first look at the official trailer that Lifetime just released for PR season 6 and HOT DAMN it finally feels like Project Runway is BACK!! Here are a few screencaps from the just released official trailer:

Hell YES … Lifetime TV is really makin’ it work with this latest video. When season 6 debuts on Lifetime TV on August 20 it really look like the show will continue as if no time had taken place (altho much time has taken place) since season 5 bowed on Bravo TV. Not only is Lindsay Lohan appearing as a guest judge (as you can see in the screencaps above) but there will also be a mystery judge who is only described as a “five-time Grammy winner”. HMMMMMM. Who could it be now? I guess we’ll just have to tune in to find out for ourselves. After the jump, check out the official trailer for Project Runway season 6 in full …
