It is with great love, great pride and a wee bit of sadness that I share with y’all the happy news that my beautiful goddaughter Princess Zakiya is celebrating her 6th birthday today. Love, pride and happiness because she is growing into a beautiful little lady … but wee sadness because she’s no longer my little baby. Princess Z will be staring the First Grade this Fall (!!!) and to celebrate her new maturity, she did a photoshoot with my friend Agnes Fischer of Bella Moon Photography in Dearborn, MI. Yesterday was a very fun, very full day. Yesterday afternoon, after Sarah, David and I ran around taking care of a few errands, we met up with Mark and made our way to downtown Royal Oak, MI for lunch at my fave sushi restaurant in the world — Little Tree. After we supped until we were stuffed, we hung out for a bit on Main St. and did a big of shopping at Incognito. Yesterday evening, we got to hang out with Tracey and my goddaughter Zakiya who is growing into a brilliant young lady. Last night, Sarah hosted a small get together of friends … ’twas a very, very fun day.

Pardon me but I have to put on my proud Godfather hat and gush a little bit about my beautiful and BRILLIANT Goddaughter Princess Zakiya. Her mom Tracey forwarded me an article that is featured on the Michigan-based website AnnArbor.com that profiles Zakiya‘s love of mathematics. Needless to say, I am very proud of my darling little girl … so I want to share that pride with all y’all :D

Birthday lurve goes out today to my precious goddaughter Zakiya Bebe today … she is celebrating her 3rd birthday today. Without going into peals of extraneous sadness over the fact that my tiny little baby girl is growing up into a full blown kid, I’ll just send my birthday wishes and try to keep the overemotionality to a minimum:

Seriously, can you believe it? Princess Zakiya is already a three year old kid. It doesn’t seem all that long ago that I introduced her to the world right HERE on Pink is the new Blog and here we are, wishing that precious little baby Happy 3rd Birthday. While today is her actual birthday, Tracey threw a little shindig for Z at their place over the weekend (this new pic of Zakiya and Tracey was taken by my BFF Sarah at the party). Because I wasn’t able to attend, Z and I are gonna have to have our own birthday party when I get back to Detroit later on this month. But until then, please join me in wishing Princess Zakiya a Happy Birthday … I love you, Z :)
