Here are a couple of new, as-yet unseen promo photos from the big budge action film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time based on the video game of the same name and which stars hottie Jake Gyllenhaal:

As you may recall, we got to see the first movie trailer from Persia early last month and since that time, I’ve been able to see it a couple of times on the big screen in front of movies I’ve seen recently. As much as it pains me to say this about my Jakey poo, I really think this movie is going to not only be a bomb but it is going to be an embarrassment for Jake. I just cannot take the man serious when he speaks with that accent … it’s just … laughable. I would love nothing more than for Jake to become a big action star but nothing I’ve seen from the film thus far has made me a believer. I guess we’ll have to see how the movie turns out cuz, believe me, I’ll be there to see it — for sure! I’m just a bit worried, tho, that it’s not going to be the blockbuster they’re prolly hoping it will be. As much as I love Jake, he’s yet to prove that he can carry a big film on his own. He sure is purdy tho, at least he’s got that going for him.

As y’all should be well aware by now, Jakey poo will portray Prince Dastan who is the protagonist of the Prince of Persia video game series (which this movie is based on). I’m not sure how I missed this last week but Pink reader Jay pointed me in the direction of a cute People magazine snippet about Jake Gyllenhaal and his new action/adventure film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It turns out that the folks at Lego will be releasing little dudes in conjunction with the film’s release … here is what Jakey poo will look like as Prince Dastan as a Lego character:

Dozens of celebrities have been immortalized with wax replicas at Madame Tussauds, but how many people can boast a Lego miniature action figure? Well, Jake Gyllenhaal for one. In honor of Disney’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Lego is releasing a set – including a mini-Jake figurine! – next year. The film will hit theaters May 28, 2010.

OMG … this is cute as hell. Little Lego Jake is about as cute as real life fleshy Jake is hot. This is absolutely a must own for me. Now that Reese Witherspoon has got her meat hooks into real Jake, I guess the rest of us will have to content ourselves with little Lego Jake … just make sure y’all play nice with him, tho … no naughty biz, ya hear?

Today we get to feast our eyes on TWO new promo pics from the 2010 film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time which stars Jake Gyllenhaal in his first starring role since his amazing performance in Brokeback Mountain. As y’all should be well aware, Jake stars as Prince Dastan … the swarthy and mostly shirtless hero of the Prince of Persia video game series. Previously, we’ve seen the first official promo photo from the film along with the first movie posters. But today, we get to check out even newer promo pics of Prince Dastan and his on-screen love interest Tamina (played by Gemma Arterton) lookin’ wet, wild and HAWT!

It isn’t just us mere mortals getting soggy this rainy Monday morning, as these new shots from Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time prove. Getting a little bit carried away trying to cool down in the arid Middle Eastern sun, our Prince Dastan, played by the brooding Jake Gyllenhaal, along with the sultry Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) are shown here drenched from head to foot, and then escaping on horseback still soaking wet … Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, also stars Sir Ben Kingsley doing his best Evil Sultan as the coniving Nizam, as well as Toby ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’ Kebbel and Alfred ‘Doc Ock’ Molina. The film is due on our decidedly unsunny shores on May 28 2010.

Yummo!! Can I just say as much as I’m not too keen on waiting until May 2010 to see Jakey poo in action on the big screen in this movie, I am very much looking forward to all the promo materials that will be released between now and then. Jake Gyllenhaal wet? Oh hell yes, please and thank you. I wonder in what other states of undress we will see Jake as Prince Dastan next. I can hardly wait.

Yesterday Entertainment Weekly magazine’s annual Comic-Con Issue gave us our first look of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in the new Iron Man 2 film and today they give us our latest look at Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan in his upcoming new film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. As you may recall, Jakey poo stars in Prince of Persia which is based on the popular video game series of the same name. We got our first look of video of Jake as the sexy, beefy and shirtless Prince Dastan back in May … but today, EW brings us this new promo photo:

For Jake Gyllenhaal, playing Prince Dastan in Jerry Bruckheimer’s epic Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, due May 28, 2010, was a chance to get into some serious action. (Paparazzi photos of Gyllenhaal on-set have appeared previously, but this is the first official shot of him in character.) “I’m tired of taking myself so seriously,” says the actor, who found himself sword-fighting, climbing walls, and jumping off of buildings as part of the prince’s quest to find an enchanted dagger and turn back time. “It’s nice when a stuntman turns to you and is like, ‘Actors don’t normally do this.’”

Well, this may be the first “official” promo photo released for the film but last March we got our real first look at two very HAWT promo-like photos of Jake as the half-nekkid Dastan on the set of the film. Click HERE to see those photos again … they are deffo worth a second look ;) In any event, I’ll take it all … altho Prince of Persia won’t be released until next year, there is no reason we can’t get little teaser pics and footage in the months leading up to the film’s release. Jake Gyllenhaal‘s big action/adventure film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time won’t be opening in theaters until May of 2010 but producer Jerry Bruckheimer has already teased with the first (tiny) bit of footage from the film in a new ABC Movie Special over the weekend. Here are a few caps of Jake as Prince Dastan in the film:

Disney’s live action movie based on the video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is still over a year away, but that hasn’t stopped the Mouse House from giving ABC viewers a first look at the movie thanks to producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s appearance during a recent ABC Movie Special. He talks about the plot of the movie, while the footage shows actor Jake Gyllenhaal’s training for the Parkour moves he uses in the film, which is directed by Mike Newel (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), as well as some of the location shooting in the deserts of Morocco … Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is scheduled for release on May 28, Memorial Day weekend, 2010.

While this new footage is a great little tease, it doesn’t offer nearly enough Jakey pooness to fully satisfy. The scenes are pretty fleeting and there is only one shirtless scene, which goes by in an instant. Jake Gyllenhaal sat down with Entertainment Tonight to talk for the very first time about his new movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time … and he looked pretty damn good all the while, if I say so myself. Here are a few screencaps from his brief interview with ET:

Jake Gyllenhaal plays a 6th century prince who holds the fate of the world in his hands in the sweeping fantasy-adventure ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,’ and ET’s Thea Andrews got up close and personal with the newly minted action hero on the London set! So, how did Jake get that buff bod? “I over-prepared myself because I never knew how much they were going to ask me to do, so I just made sure I’d be hopefully able to do anything,” a playful Jake tells Thea. The former ‘Brokeback Mountain’ star trained for months before the arduous Moroccan desert shoot, and has been training daily to maintain his action-hero physique, gaining five pounds of muscle. “I guess I’ve gotten buff,” he shrugs. “There’s a lot acrobatics in the movie — a lot of running up walls, and jumping on things and Parkour, so it requires muscularity, but it requires a lot of aerobic ability too.” When filming finally wraps, Jake promises with a smile, “It’s going to turn into fat and I’m going to be happy.” ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ blockbuster producer Jerry Bruckheimer is bringing ‘Prince of Persia’ to life, based on the hugely popular video game and scheduled to open in theaters on May 28, 2010. The story finds Jake as Dastan, a young Persian prince who must join forces with the beautiful and feisty princess Tamina (played by ‘Quantum of Solace’ Bond girl Gemma Arterton) to prevent a villainous nobleman (Ben Kingsley) from possessing the Sands of Time — a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world. “I’m running away from family and I’m running away from bad guys and I’m trying to prove my innocence,” says Jake, trying to keep the play-by-play plot details a secret. “There’s so many extraordinary elements throughout the movie.”

Apparently, Jake will be speaking with a British accent in the film and has been using his accent even when he is not on the movie set for practice … but unfortch (or fortch, I’m not quite sure yet) he did not use his fake British accent in this interview with ET.
