If I Could Turn Back Time

Yesterday was a pretty bizzy day for me, despite the fact that I was hoping to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon. After I got my work done, I left the house to take care of a bunch of errands. Our printer suddenly stopped printing colors properly and since it was a few years old, I thought it was time for an upgrade. I managed to find the AMAZING HP Photosmart Premium All-In-One printer that is, get this, completely wireless! Now all of the computers in our home can print to the same printer completely wire free! While trying to clean Saturday, I discovered that our vacuum cleaner stopped sucking … and it’s an old (cheap) piece of junk so I had to find a replacement too. So, yeah, I spent much of my day running around, taking care of menial but necessary things.

Last night, I ventured out to see Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time:

All in all I loved the film … even tho it was really terrible. From the first moment Jake Gyllenhaal opened his mouth and spoke with his RIDICULOUS British accent, I knew the movie was gonna be bad. That being said, Jake looked so good … omg, seriously, he is hot in every single scene. The plot of the film is complete rubbish but 2 hours of Jake lookin’ better than he’s ever looked in any movie before made it all worth it. Despite the fact that all of the action takes place in the blistering heat of the Persian desert — Jake never gets dirty, his skin stays perfect and his teeth gleam with unnatural bright whiteness. So believable. UNF, but have I mentioned how good he looks in the film? Yeah, it’s deffo worth seeing. Trust me :D

Today, I think I’ll venture down to Manhattan Beach to enjoy the beautiful day with my friends Emma and Josh. They graciously invited me to spend the day with them so I think that’s what I’ll do. I hope your Memorial Day is going well!

Pass the popcorn, Jake
Jake Gyllenhaal Surprises Fans At A Movie Screening In SoCal

Jake Gyllenhaal made a few hundred dreams come true when he surprised fans at a special preview screening of his new film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time here in SoCal last night. After pretty much everyone was seated at the AMC Theater in Century City (one of my fave theaters, I might add), our dear Jakey poo sauntered in and sat with the crowd to watch the film … behold:

Well, that’s better than popcorn! Jake Gyllenhaal surprised some fans at a screening of his new movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time at an AMC Theater in Century City, Calif. “The crowd went crazy when Jake entered,” a source says, adding that the ladies sitting next to him seemed especially starstruck. Gyllenhaal thanked the fans for their support, then joked about a certain movie (starring Sarah Jessica Parker) that’s opening the same weekend. “This,” Gyllenhaal told his admirers as he pointed to his body, “is the real Sex and the City!”

OMG!!! I would’ve DIED!! You know, had I not had tickets for the opening night of the Glee: Live concert here in LA last night, I might’ve been at this screening … sitting right there … next to Jake … sharing my popcorn … my drink … my napkins, whatever. Le sigh. Ah well, it sounds like it was a fab time for everyone in attendance last night … those lucky bastards :/

Back To Normal

OMG … at last … David and I made it home, safe and sound, and after far too many headaches things seem to be back to normal with the site. To be honest, I don’t even have the strength to recount all the horrors that we went thru over the past couple of days … as if our travel nightmare wasn’t bad enough, the technical difficulties with the site almost did me in. Without over-exaggerating at all, the entire site was almost lost … but, thankfully, David managed to sort everything out and get the site back in working order. I cannot even tell you what I would do without out him. He is my hero and I love him so much.

As things begin to level-off and settle back into normalcy, I am trying to get back into my regular routine. I was happy to find this little surprise in the mail today:

This small Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Legos set may not look like much but its arrival cheered me up a bit and has brightened my day a bit. Jake Gyllenhaal looks really cute as a little Lego man … how could I not be cheered up.

As happy as I am that things are normalizing for me, I still have much sadness back home to contend with. A very good friend of mine lost his father suddenly and without warning due to a heart attack. His family and all of my friends back home are still reeling from the loss. As a result, I will be flying back home to Detroit this coming weekend to attend a memorial event with my friends and loved ones. This death has really affected me and it’s hard to focus on fun and frivolity when my dear friends are suffering but I’m trying to just stay on track, do what I do and soldier on.

I have to say it again, THANK YOU all so much for your ceaseless messages of support. Your kind messages and well-wishes have been so helpful … you have no idea. I’m sending all my love to y’all today … and always. From the bottom of my heart, love to you ALL!!

‘Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time’ Premieres In Hollywood

Last week we got to see photos from the world premiere of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in London, England and today we get to see a few photos from the red carpet arrivals at the Hollywood premiere of the film which took place at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre here in Los Angeles, CA last night. Jake Gyllenhaal was lookin’ damn good on the red carpet (as per usual) and even Alanis Morissette was in attendance … behold:

We are just about one week away from the film’s release and as much as I fear that the film will not be an epic masterpiece, I can’t help but be all kinds of excited to see Jakey poo helm a big budget blockbuster film. I mean, c’mon … if Alanis Morissette can be excited for the film, so can we, right? Yeah, I’m not sure that makes any sense at all but I am trying to stay positive about this film. I’ll be there opening day, will you?

"I wanted to fulfill the dreams of those movies I loved watching" - Jake Gyllenhaal
‘Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time’ Premieres In London

Jake Gyllenhaal‘s new big screen action flick Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time won’t open in theaters here in the US until May 28 but it had its world premiere at the Vue Westfield in London, England last night. Jake spoke with the BBC ahead of last night’s red carpet premiere and revealed that he would not be opposed to starring in future Prince of Persia movies. Might there be a franchise in the works? Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals and some excerpts from Jake‘s chat with the BBC:

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal says he wants to be taken “a little less seriously” as an actor, and would love the Prince of Persia to become a franchise. The 29-year-old, known for dramatic roles including Brokeback Mountain, said recognition as the Disney blockbuster hero would be an “honour”. “I think about kids saying ‘you’re the Prince of Persia!’ That I wouldn’t mind being locked into,” he said. Based on a video game, the fantasy film is released in the UK on 21 May. Stars of the film, including Gyllenhaal and British actress Gemma Arterton, have also signed a deal for a sequel, but producers have stressed that the success of the initial outing – The Sands of Time – will secure a second movie … Gyllenhaal, who shot to fame in indie hit Donnie Darko, said he wants to be taken “a little less seriously” as an actor. “I wanted to fulfil the dreams of those movies I loved watching, like Robin Hood with Errol Flynn,” he added of his new swashbuckling role. “Who knows in two or three years time what other weird thing I’ll do?” said the star.

Er, I think it’s a bit premature to be talking about future movies … but something tells me that even if Prince of Persia is a modest hit, there will be future Persia films to come. I’m still on the fence about this film … while I want it to be good, I have my serious doubts. But, until I’m able to see the film for myself, I’ll have to reserve judgment. Jakey poo spoke to People magazine on the red carpet of last night’s UK premiere, after the jump find out what he has to say about — ostriches …

Jake Gyllenhaal Brings The Sexy In ‘Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time’

We are just one month away from the long-awaited release of Jake Gyllenhaal‘s first big action film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and to celebrate, we get to check out a few promo photos of our dear Jakey poo on the set of the film … lookin’ good, y’all:

Now, these pics may have been snapped over a year ago when Jake was all buff and hairy on the set of Persia but they are a welcome sight, let me tell you. We haven’t seen too much promo stuff from this new film in recent weeks … which is surprising since the film will hit theaters on May 28. But, at least we have these new pics to salivate look over and enjoy. Check out a couple more after the jump …

Body by Parkour
Jake Gyllenhaal Reveals How His Biceps Got So Big

Jake Gyllenhaal, who will star this Summer in the big screen adaptation of the video game Prince of Persia, has revealed how he managed to pump up his body to get it in peak physical condition for his role as the muscular Prince Dastan. Jake explains that he used the French martial art of Parkour (taught to him by the inventor himself) to beef up his body to look like this:

“[I] never did anything this intensive before [to change my body]. It’s a physical role. And when I commit to playing a part, it’s 110 percent,” said the 29-year-old actor. “We worked really closely with David Belle, who invented Parkour. I worked with a lot of gymnasts. I started jumping off of a lot of things that were padded and learned the fundamental stuff, and then slowly started working on harder surfaces, really carefully. And I’d say, ‘OK, I’ll try it,’ and then I’d say, ‘OH GOD. OH, please.’ But then I’d get it, and we’d go a little further and a little longer and a little higher and just kept it up,” explained Gyllenhaal, who did many of his own stunts during filming, even scaring himself at some points. “It got a little bit dicey there near the end, when they saw that I liked doing things that were dangerous. I tried my hand at things that were pushing it a little bit. There was this big 35 foot jump that I did that got a little hairy.”

Jakey poo has vowed that he plans to keep his body in shape by practicing Parkour even tho filming has wrapped on his movie … and I, for one, hope he keeps his promise. With the Summer months on the way, there will be plenty of opportunities for Jake to go shirtless. I don’t care how he gets his body to look this good, I just want him to continue ;)

Jake Gyllenhaal Does WonderCon 2010

Earlier today we saw photos of Milla Jovovich and Ali Later promoting their new film Resident Evil: Afterlife at WonderCon in San Francisco, CA yesterday and right now we get to see a few photos of Hottie McHotster Jake Gyllenhaal doing a bit of promo work at WonderCon for his new film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time … behold:

Le sigh. I feel bad for anyone (like Jerry Bruckheimer, here) who has to stand next to Jakey poo for a photo … they are always completely overshadowed by his beauteous brilliance. It’s a shame that WonderCon had to take place over Easter weekend because I would’ve been more than happy to fly up to San Fran to attend the convention and possibly run into Jake Gyllenhaal. Ah well … mebbe next time. Jake and his Persia compatriots did more than just promote their film at the convention, they also did a bit of partying afterwards. After the jump, check out a photo of Jake at the Prince of Persia afterparty where he was gifted with a very special new toy …

"Are you not curious why an orphan ... could be chosen to become a prince?"
‘Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time’ Releases A New Movie Trailer

Back in November, the new action film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time — which stars the sexy Jake Gyllenhaal — released its first movie trailer, followed in early February with the first TV commercial … today, we get to check out the second movie trailer for the film which debuted exclusively on My Space:

Of the 3 video trailers released thus far, this is by far my fave. I think I like it most because Jake‘s Prince Dastan speaks the least. I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to buy his faux British accent in this film … but considering how good the man looks in various states of undress, I’m willing to give it a shot. Check out this new trailer after the jump …

Ready or not, here it comes
‘Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time’ Does ‘Total Film’ Magazine

The upcoming new action film (based on a video) Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Total Film magazine. As much as it pains me to admit, I’m quite worried that this film is going to be a disaster once it hits the big screen … but promo for Persia continues unfettered:

As you may recall, my worry about the film came the first time I saw the movie trailer released last November. I’m concerned that Jakey poo will not be able to carry this film on his own … and that accent? OY! But, I’m hoping my worries will be laid to rest when I see the film in theaters later this year. After the jump, check out a few promo photos from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time from this issue of Total Film magazine …
