Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Today is Father’s Day (happiness to all the dads out there) and we get to check out a couple pics of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz celebrating his first Father’s Day weekend with his firstborn baby boy Bronx Mowgli here in SoCal. Petey, Bronx and wife/mother Ashlee Simpson-Wentz made their way about town yesterday … and paid a little visit to the Famous Clothing store here in LA to pick up a few things:

Bronx may have come out of the store with a brand new Famous onesie but it’s Pete who is enjoying the best gift of all. I can only imagine what this first Father’s Day means to him. Much love and happiness goes out to Pete and all the amazing dads out there … enjoy your day!

Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz Join The Fight For Marriage Equality

Liberty and marriage for all
Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Happily married couple Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are the latest celebs to join the NO H8 campaign to fight for marriage equality for same-sex couples in this country. Ashl33n were on hand to participate in a photoshoot here in LA yesterday to add their starpower to the cause … here is a pic of the pair on the set of their photoshoot:

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz are keeping their mouths shut for gay marriage. The couple are the latest celebs to take part in NOH8, a campaign supporting efforts to overturn Proposition 8. They were shot by photographer Adam Bouska on Monday with the campaign’s signature look: “NOH8″ painted on their cheeks and duct tape over their mouths as a symbol of the pro-gay voices not being heard. Ashlee also holds a wedding veil in the pic. Which other rocker was in the studio with them? Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus also posed for NOH8. Like the Wentzes, Hoppus took part in the big Hollywood rally and protest shortly after the California Supreme Court upheld the ban on same-sex unions. “My son asked me one time, ‘Some guys have girlfriends and some girls have boyfriends, but do boys sometimes have boyfriends?’ ” Hoppus told us at the rally. “I said, ‘Yeah, all kinds of people love different kinds of people. And that’s the world we live in.’ ” Bouska launched NOH8 with his partner Jeff Parshley in November after the passage of Prop 8. Shanna Moakler and a gaggle of other former beauty queen titleholders posed for the campaign shortly after the Miss California Carrie Prejean controversy erupted in April.

Click HERE to see the impressive collection of photos that have been already taken for the No H8 campaign. I think it says a lot that so many straight allies are standing up for the rights of same-sex couples to marry in this country. While there has been much progress in the fight for marriage equality thus far (particularly in the New England States and Iowa), there is still so much work to be done. Much love and respect goes out to Ashlee, Pete, Mark and the rest of the folks who have stepped up to fight the H8.

Pete Wentz Spends His Birthday With Bronx Mowgli, Barack Obama

Two of his favorite folks
Saturday, June 6th, 2009

Pete Wentz, who celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday, was spotted with his baby boy Bronx Mowgli and (randomly) President Barack Obama as he ran a few errands at the novelty shop Aah’s in Sherman Oaks, CA yesterday:

Actually, since President Obama and his family are currently in France on family holiday together, it should be clarified that Pete and Bronx were seen with a cardboard cutout of Obama at the novelty shop (incidentally, it’s the same cardboard cutout that my friends and I used at our Inauguration party here in SoCal this past January). It’s nice that Pete spent his birthday in the company of his adorable baby boy … I imagine that Bronx Mowgli is the best gift he could ever receive. Happy Birthday, Pete!! Welcome to the 30’s!

Clandestine Teams Up With House Of Harlow For A New Fashion Show

Double Trouble
Friday, June 5th, 2009

Nicole Richie and Pete Wentz teamed up with Switch Boutique in SoCal last night to throw a fashion show in order to showcase each celebs’ new line of products. House of Harlow 1960 jewelry and Clandestine Industries streetwear were paired up in an effort to show the public what they can expect from the two design houses. Here are pics of Pete Wentz, Nicole Richie and her burgeoning baby bump at the fashion show last night:

What happens when two of Hollywood’s hippest designers team up for a runway show? Last night’s House of Harlow, Clandestine Industries and Switch boutique runway show! Nicole Richie, who was modeling her own designs, added her House of Harlow 1960 pieces to feminine fashions from Switch boutique, telling PEOPLE that she picked based on “complimenting the outfit,” while Pete Wentz went for an individualized approach to his models. “[It's] just about streetwear so I let the guy pick. Whatever looked best on the individual.” Budding girl group Paradiso Girls opened the show with a quick performance and special guest spot by rapper Eve. With Wentz’s wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Richie’s partner Joel Madden watching on, the male models donned high top sneakers, T-shirts saying things like I (heart) BX, hoodies, and fedoras from Clandestine Industries. The ladies walked the runway in black mini skirts, back stretch pants with holes cut into them, heels with neon green soles and hot pink peep toe, jumpsuits with white lace lining and gold belts as accents to Nicole’s bold jewelry. Wentz thanked the audiences with “Thank you for checking out our lines,” just before rockers The Academy Is… closed the evening with a short performance.

It only makes sense that two celebs with semi-equal celebrity lines of clothing/jewelry would team up to showcase their wares in this way. To be honest, I’m surprised neither of them thought about teaming up before now. As some of you already know, the Madden brothers own DCMA Clothing and, I suspect, plans are in the works to mebbe put together a way to showcase both House of Harlow 1960 and DCMA at a future fashion show. As a sidebar, I’m loving how big Nicole’s baby bump is already … it looks like it won’t be long now before Nicole and Joel Madden are welcoming the birth of their second child. We still do not know if it is a boy or a girl … but how adorable would a little boy addition to the family be?

Pete Wentz Shares A New Photo Of Bronx Mowgli

Twitter is, apparently, the new online baby book
Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Pete Wentz has posted a new photo of his son Bronx Mowgli on his official Twitter profile, making the micro-blogging site the new place for celebs to show off pics of their children without having to go thru the hassle of posing for magazine photoshoots. As you may recall, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte is very fond of showing off photos of his beloved little girl Harlow Winter … and when last we saw a new photo of Bronx it came from his mother Ashlee Simpson who posted the pic on her Twitter profile. Here is Bronx’s latest Twitpic with daddy Pete Wentz along with the accompanying message:

sorry had to send some sensitive info to a source in china. went binary. heres a pic of the best hug on the planet.

I’ve said it before but I think Twitter is so cool in that it allows celebs and regular folk alike the ability to share any and everything they like with the world (or at least the Twitterverse) whenever the mood strikes. Now that celebs are able to communicate directly with their fans, they seem more willing to share more of themselves in a more familial way. Twitter deffo seems to be the new place to see personal photos of famous babies which is totally fine by me.

Pete Wentz Parties With The Ladies In Sin City

What happens in Vegas, does not stay in Vegas
Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Earlier this week we got to see an adorable new photo of Bronx Mowgli, son of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz, that was posted by Ash on her Twitter profile page … but while Ashlee was home tending to hearth, home and baby — hubby Pete Wentz was out on the road with his Fall Out Boy bandmates enjoying a quiet night with friends in Las Vegas, NV. Here are a couple pics of Pete and some of the new friends he was partying with this week:

Ashlee Simpson is a proud mama, sharing a new photo of son Bronx on Twitter. However, she may not be so proud of her husband’s recent antics in Las Vegas! On Tuesday, Ashlee posted a photo of her four-month-old on the micro-blogging site, saying: “I present you my little man and his adorable cheeks!” Interesting timing as Star reports in our April 20 issue — on sale today — that Pete Wentz was getting wild in Sin City with scantily clad dancers and a boozy Slip ‘n’ Slide over the weekend. The Fall Out Boy bassist — who was without his wife of nearly one year — partied hard with about 50 band members, dancers and pals (including Girls Next Door star Holly Madison) following a sold-out show at the Palms Casino Resort on April 5. “Everybody was going absolutely crazy,” an eyewitness tells Star. “People were even drunkenly playing makeshift Slip ‘n’ Slide with a mat and lubricant. And Pete was in great spirits. He was dancing and singing along to his band’s own songs, grinding up against the dancers.” At one point he was “dancing on a pool table with the girls,” the partygoer adds.

HMMM … I wonder why Pete didn’t post any of these pics on his Twitter profile page? This party looks like a lot of fun … I wonder what else went on at this joyful soiree ;)
