Going ‘Out’ Tonight

Tonight is the annual Out on the Mountain special night at Six Flags Magic Mountain where the park closes for GLBT folks and their friends. I missed out on going last year but David and I are really excited to go tonight! We’ve been talking about going to Six Flags all Summer but it never worked out. Tonight is our night, tho! It’s gonna be a blast!!

The Return Of The Super Friends

OMG … last night was the Best.Night.Ever. After a group of friends and I had a blast at Six Flags Magic Mountain for their annual GLBT private party Out on the Mountain, we managed to cull together a bigger group of folks to come out and play on the roller coasters for this year’s event … and we had an absolute blast!

Our group of friends managed to grow larger as the night progressed but, honestly, it was really the more the merrier. We managed to ride all of the best roller coasters last night and had the best time ever. We also took a lot more photos this year — which you can check out out, after the jump …

Six Feet Under

Last night my friend Darion and I made our way out to the ArcLight Hollywood to see an early screening of the new Ryan Reynolds film Buried. Much to my happy surprise, the 90ish minute long movie takes place entirely inside a coffin buried in the Iraqi desert with only Reynolds to provide the film’s entertainment … and he does an absolutely fantastic job:

There are 3 things that I learned from this film … First, if you find that you are buried in the desert and you are blessed with a working cell phone, 99.9% of the people you call for help will not believe you. Second, Iraq has THE BEST cellphone service that I have ever heard of … even when buried in the desert, your calls to various locales around the globe can successfully be made. Third, Ryan Reynolds is very, very capable of providing a film’s worth of entertainment with just a coffin and a few props (a cellphone, a pen, a flashlight and a couple of glow sticks). I’m telling you … this film is great. The only thing I did not like was the inclusion of a surprise snake in the middle of the film … I mean, I get there needs to be some elements of surprise but the snake felt like a bit too much to me. That being said, there really are no bad things to say about the film. I loved the Michigan connection of the character and I really loved how the story played itself out. For the duration of the film you are not really sure how things are going to end … I was very satisfied with the way this film ended. Both Darion and I loved this film a lot, even tho Ryan Reynolds didn’t take off one piece of clothing! He really impressed me with his acting in Buried, I think he may impress you, too.

Tonight a bunch of us are making our way up to Valencia, CA to play at Six Flags Magic Mountain Amusement Park for their annual Out on the Mountain night!

Basically, the park shuts down for the gays so that we can run amok and ride all the rides to our collective hearts’ content. We had a blast last year so we are all very excited for another night of fun tonight!!

Super Friends

Last night Darion, Loy, Sebastian and I met up with a bunch of friends at Six Flags Magic Mountain for their annual GLBT night called Out on the Mountain where the park is closed down for just GLBT folks and friends for a night of roller coaster fun. I have to admit, since I’m very familiar with the roller coasters at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH I had a chip on my shoulder that the coasters at Magic Mountain wouldn’t measure up … I was very pleasantly surprised that many of them do. Here are a few pics from our fun night:

Aren’t the superhero capes fun? I was so glad they had a purple Batgirl cape to match my Lakers ensemble ;) Our first ride of the night was X2 and HOLY SHIZZ is that ride awesome. It had to be my fave of the night but Tatsu, Batman, Riddler’s Revenge and Viper were really fun too. I can’t wait to go back … David has to enjoy these rides the next time we go.

No plans for today … have to pack for my trip to SF tomorrow … no rest for the weary ;)

Out On The Mountain

Yesterday was a pretty crappy day … after being on the phone pretty much all day dealing with identity theft issues, I had no time to really put in a full day’s work ;( By the time I got everything all sorted out, I had to run out for an appointment and the day was shot. Things are back on track today, tho, so I’m feeling much better.

In fact, I’m feeling totally up for a night of fun with some friends. Six Flags Magic Mountain is hosting their annual Out on the Mountain night tonight where the park is closed for a private event where GLBT friendly folks are invited to enjoy the park from 6pm to 1am:

I’ve never been to Magic Mountain so I’m excited. I haven’t been on a real roller coaster in years so I’m really looking forward to tonight. Darion, Loy and Sebastian are in for sure … I’m trying to get Josh to come out too! It should be fun … I hope to have a lot of fun pix tomorrow.

Thank gawd it’s the weekend!!
