It’s been almost a week since Madonna thrilled the world with her stunning Super Bowl XLVI halftime show and M.I.A. caused a bit of controversy by flipping off her middle finger during said Super Bowl halftime show … and right now we get to hear Madonna‘s thoughts on the matter. Madge was interivewed by Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM this morning here in LA and she commented on the show itself, on her collaborations with Nicki Minaj, LMFAO & Cee Lo, her new album M.D.N.A. and OF COURSE M.I.A.‘s infamous middle finger flip. Altho Madonna says she understands that flipping the bird is a “punk thing” she tells Seacrest that she was “unhappy” with the negativity of the gesture. Earlier this morning, our dear Britney Spears paid an in-studio visit to the On Air with Ryan Seacrest show on KIIS FM in LA to officially debut her new single Till the World Ends (which you can listen to in full HERE) and to generally talk about her new album Femme Fatale. In the course of the interview, Britney confirmed that she WILL tour this year staring in the “early Summer”. In addition to this new radio interview, new deets about Britney‘s upcoming Good Morning American performance (which will take place in San Francisco, CA) have come to light. Despite the fact that Britney Spears‘s manager Adam Leber denied the imminent release of new music from Britney Spears, a rumor started going around last week that claimed Britney would be releasing a new single called It’s A Secret in the coming weeks. Today we have concete proof that a new single from our dear Britney exists … and it was written by The Neptunes!

This screencap comes from the official BMI music publishing site that lists the title of this new Britney Spears song, written by Charles Edward Hugo and Pharrell L. Williams, as My Big Secret. This is undeniable proof that the song exists … the fact that it is titled The Big Secret which is very similar to It’s A Secret gives great credence to the rumor we heard last week. Whether or not the song will be released is anyone’s guess but … I now have very high hopes :)

Additionally, despite the fact that Jane Lynch has confirmed that Britney Spears will NOT be appearing in the episode of Glee devoted to her music, Glee creator Ryan Murphy says otherwise and confirms to Ryan Seacrest that Britney WILL appear on Glee. Jessica Simpson called in for an interview this morning on Ryan Seacrest‘s morning radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM here in LA to talk about the world premiere broadcast of her new song Who We Are which will be the theme song to her new VH1 reality TV series The Price of Beauty. As you may be aware, Jessica strangely teamed up with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan to work on this song (and, reportedly, to work on other things as well) and she talked a bit about her collaboration with Billy to Ryan Seacrest as well:

Jessica claims that she “wrote” the song herself but only got help from Billy and his producer who “lives up the street” from her and offered their assistance. It was her aim to work “organically” with these talented musicians and finds Billy “so kind” for helping her with the song. She went on to say that she can’t find “good enough words to speak about” him and refers to him as her “good friend”. It is her desire to make more music with him in the future. I’ve heard the song, it’s kinda terrible … but I’ll let you judge for yourselves.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have gone on the record with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio program to refute claims that they are not legally wed. Responding to criticism that no record exists of the couple’s legal nuptials, Pratt boasted that the couple chose to keep their marriage license confidential … cuz, you know, this couple really values their privacy. Additionally, MTV released a statement to US Weekly commenting on their part in the alleged wedding scam that has folks questioning the reality of their reality series The Hills:

As skepticism mounts regarding the validity of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s courtroom wedding as seen in the upcoming finale of MTV’s ‘The Hills,’ the couple exclusively revealed to Ryan Seacrest Wednesday that the ceremony was indeed official and legal. Spencer Pratt boasted, “we checked the confidentiality box, so good luck people,” in response to many media outlets reporting that there is no record of any marriage license for the couple in L.A. County.

And this is what MTV has to say: “MTV crews captured Heidi and Spencer at the Beverly Hills Courthouse with the Deputy Commissioner who handles all civil unions. We filmed after hours at the request of the courthouse so our cameras would not inconvenience other couples getting married that day.”

So MTV is saying that they bore witness to a legal civil union officiated by the “Deputy Commissioner who handles all civil unions”? Then why is it that there is no record that any such official was on hand to preside over this union? I makes NO SENSE that either Speidi or MTV would be so secretive about the legalities of this marriage if everything was on the up and up. Are we really supposed to believe that Speidi chose to keep their nuptials confidential after announcing the news on the cover of a national magazine and then reenacting the whole ceremony on national television? I mean, seriously?

Pete Wentz, who became a proud new papa last Thursday night when his wife Ashlee Simpson gave birth to their son Bronx Mowgli, was back to work yesterday afternoon filming scenes for the upcoming new episode of his MTV music video show FNMTV. Additionally, Pete was an on-air guest with Ryan Seacrest this morning on KIIS FM here in SoCal and talked pretty extensively about the whole process of becoming a new parent — the pain that Ashlee went thru and the stress that he went thru. Here are a couple pics of Pete on the LA set of FNMTV yesterday and a report on his KIIS FM interview this morning:

Being in the delivery room shortly before Ashlee Simpson gave birth Nov. 20 was “pretty surreal,” Pete Wentz says in his first interview since welcoming son Bronx. “Obviously, some stuff my wife would freak if I said, but she’s pretty much a saint,” he said Tuesday on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show. “Right before she went into labor, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I think I’m having a heart attack!’ Natural things start going on in your body,” Wentz went on. “My heart started beating really fast.” He explained, “You seen your wife in all this pain, and you really don’t know what’s happening.” But Ashlee “took care of me and made sure I was OK and then we went into labor,” Wentz told Seacrest. “That’s why she’s a saint. She’s a amazing girl. She was like, ‘I will make sure you’re OK,’” he added. “I didn’t even stop to think, ‘Well, you just had an epidural and you’re about to have a baby!’” When she had the baby, Wentz said that Ashlee remarked, “‘He’s beautiful. He’s perfect.’ We were instantly in love,” he said of the boy. “It’s impossible not to be!” He said his wife is doing “really good” right now. Wentz said he’s changed “quite a few” diapers already – even some “exploding” ones. As friends and family flock to get their first glimpse of Bronx, Wentz said, “Having a child is like opening a new spot in L.A. — everyone’s trying to get in every night!” Eventually, the Fall Out Boy bassist said Bronx “is definitely going to come out on tour. We need a whole team of stuff that is going to get him through that.” As for the unique moniker, Bronx Mowgli? He said he and Ashlee had been “throwing it back and forth a while ago. I feel weird because all these people have all these ideas on what it means … I don’t think anyone knows the real story of why or how.” [Jungle Book] author Rudyard Kipling is “really cool and The Jungle Book is something that me and Ashlee bonded over,” Wentz explained. Of fatherhood, he also noted, “It’s different when it happens. Your life is 100 percent different now – you want it to be different.”

Oh, Pete … despite the fact that you and Ash succumbed to the trend of wacky celebrity baby names, I have no doubt that you are going to be an amazing father. It is my sincere hope that you are able to shield and protect your son from the dangers and pitfalls that lie ahead (namely, Papa Joe Simpson) and teach your child to grow up strong, proud, true and sure of himself. I’m glad to see that Pete is back to work already, he’s got to keep on makin’ that cheddar so that he can lavish his child with everything his little newborn emo-punk heart desires. It’s only been a few days since we got word that Paris Hilton and Benji Madden are dunzo and Paris is already going on the record to talk about the couple’s split. Paris was a guest this morning on On Air With Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM here in SoCal this morning and talked at some length about the split, making sure to clarify somethings about the break-up that have been reported erroneously. Last night, Paris spent a second night in a row flying sans her now ex-boyfriend Benji and ended up hanging out with her sister Nicky Hilton instead. Here is a pic of Paris out all by her lonesome last night and my report on her radio interview this morning with Ryan Seacrest:

After some banter about some of the word that Paris has been doing over the past few weeks, Ryan got to the nitty-gritty and asked her if the reports are true — did she and Benji really split up — and she said: “Well, you know, right now we’re just taking a break and um … we, we’re really good friends, we’re very close.” Ryan pressed, So you’re not together? “You know, I love him, he’s such an amazing man, he’s my best friend, he’s been so great to me, so loyal, he’s an incredible person and, um, we’ll always be very close, we’ll see what happens in the future, I’m still in love with him.” Ryan then confessed that, as a friend, he was surprised by the news and didn’t believe the reports when he initially heard them. Then he asked her what happened to cause the split and she responded, “You know, I think right now, we’re better off as friends, we’re both working so much …” and went on to talk about how much work both she and Benji have been doing lately. She went on to deny reports that she dumped him and clarified that this was a decision they made together “as two adults”. She says that rumors that they broke up over Stavros Niarchos are “ridiculous” (explaining that reports of her “hooking-up” with Stavros was just a matter of her smiling and saying hello to someone she hadn’t “seen in a year”). She also clarified that Benji is not a jealous person, that no one cheated, that she never trusted anyone like him and that “there’s no one like him”. She told Ryan that things with Nicole Richie will stay the same, she loves the entire Madden family and refuted claims that Benji was “too controlling”, explaining that he just wanted the best for her (she also revealed that since she started dating him she stopped hanging out with certain people and going to certain places — and blamed those “people” for the false rumors about the break-up). As the interview came to a close, Paris told Ryan that she and Benji still “talk every day”, that they’re still close, that he’s bizzy working on the Good Charlotte remix album, that she is not considering dating anyone else right now because she still has feelings for Benji (dating a new person right now is “the last thing on her mind” and the thought of doing so “grosses her out”). Finally, she revealed to Ryan that she plans to spend New Year’s Eve in Australia hosting a party with her sister Nicky Hilton (a gig she was supposed to host with Benji).

I gotta say, Paris really sounded mature thruout this entire interview (click HERE to hear the interview in full for yourselves). She sounded hopeful that the couple could get back together again but, well, people do break-up for certain reasons … even tho she claims it was all about work, I don’t really believe it. Who knows, mebbe they will get back together again some day … but for now, they’re really officially dunzo.

Miley Cyrus was an on-air guest this morning on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show on KIIS FM here in SoCal and, for the first time, went on the record about her relationship with hottie underwear model Justin Gaston. Altho, the 15-year old poplet tried to play it coy about any romantic relationship she might be enjoying with the 20-year old model, she did offer some telling comments about what the man means to her:

“Maybe, maybe not,” she said Thursday on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show when asked if they are dating. “Right now, everything is, like, really good. I haven’t really been answering the question much just because we’re just really happy with everything and the way everything has worked out.” She added, “He’s been a really great friend, more than anything.” Cyrus – who turns 16 on Nov. 23 – said she was miffed that “everyone started judging us as soon as we started hanging out.” “After my last two years, there’s been a lot of things that happened, so I’ve learned just not to judge anyone and go into our friendship with an open mind and not really worry about the age or anything,” she continued. “Our families are like, ‘Whatever happens, happens,’” she said. “If he’s nothing but a really good friend, that’s awesome. More than anything, he’s really helped me move on from a lot of things,” she told Seacrest. “He’s a really great Christian guy. He’s gone through stuff, and I’ve gone through stuff, and everyone goes through that. I think it’s really awesome that we have that in common — that we can talk about it and that we can understand [each other] … he gets it.” She then added: “I’m totally gushing right now!” She said her parents like him too, adding that the former Nashville Star contestant “works with my dad, so my dad thinks he’s cool.” Seacrest told Cyrus that Gaston is just too good looking. “That’s what would be hard about dating him!” she replied. “It’s like, if anything ever happened [a break-up], who you are gonna go to after that?”

While there may have been some “judging” going on as soon as Miley started “hanging out” with Justin, I think it was more of a matter of people being surprised that her parents would let a 15-year old girl “hang out” with a 20-year old man — in any capacity. In light of the big stink the Cyrus parents caused after the Vanity Fair debacle earlier this year, I, for one, was really surprised to see them be so nonchalant about the age disparity between their daughter and this older man. I’m not sure that the “whatever happens, happens” mentality is a very good one for families to implement when it comes to underage girls “hanging out” with adult men. But, that’s just my opinion … clearly these people must know what they are doing. I do give Miss Miley credit for being honest and talking somewhat openly about the situation. On Wednesday we learned that Jason Priestley, who rose to fame playing the role of Brandon Walsh on the hit 90′s series Beverly Hills, 90210, will be returning to the world of 90210 … not as an actor but as a director. This morning, Priestley spoke with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM morning radio show to discuss his return:

Jason Priestley is looking forward to returning to CW’s 90210 — as director! “It’s going to be a lot of fun to work over there and work with those guys,” he said Friday on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show. Priestley — who directed 18 episodes of the original series on Fox — has just one wish before he steps behind the camera. “I just hope Jennie’s in the episode — or Shannen’s there,” he told Seacrest, referring to stars Garth and Doherty. “Rob Estes and I have been friends for a long time. It’ll be fun.” Does he keep in touch with any of his former 90210 co-stars? “I talk to Jennie all the time,” he said. “We’re actually neighbors. She’s having a really good time over there.” Priestley — who has appeared on some shows, including the short-lived CBS comedy Love Monkey — said it’ll take a whole new role before he goes back on camera again. “In the last two series I’ve done I sort of played tertiary characters,” he said. “In the next show, I need to carry the freight a little more. That’s where I need to be.”

Yeah, Jason Priestley hasn’t really had great success in front of the camera on any other TV series since his BH, 90210 days. Altho I kinda liked him on the short-lived series Tru Calling (which starred Eliza Dushku), he will always be Brandon Walsh to me … whether he’s in front of the camera or behind. Hopefully having him back on the 90210 set will get him inspired to take on the role of Brandon Walsh again … my money says that he will re-Brandonify in front of the camera once again.

Boo. Very sad Britney Spears news coming out of LA this AM. Ryan Seacrest has just announced live on his morning radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM in SoCal that Britney Spears WILL NOT be performing at this year’s 2008 MTV Video Music Awards:

Britney Spears Will Not Perform at MTV VMAs

After a week of a rumored return to the VMA stage, Ryan Seacrest exclusively revealed on his radio show Monday morning that she will not be performing at the awards show. Recently, promotional spots leaked online featuring Spears and show host Russell Brand further fueling the rumors of an on-stage performance. In the spots, Spears and Brand were alone in a large studio only accompanied by a 9,000 lb. elephant.

Ryan essentially reports that he spoke with Britney‘s “general in charge of all things Britney” Larry Rudolph (via email) about a report that came from E! News that claimed that Britney would be performing at this years’ VMAs. Ryan says that Larry told him that the report is “just wrong”, saying:

“Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year … I’m telling you officially and unequivocally that BS will not be there.”

Again, I say Boo! I am assuming that Larry Rudolph is referring to the E! report that quoted celebrity hairstylist Kim Vo who claimed he was designing hairstyles for Britney‘s VMAs night — one for red carpet, one for the show and one for her PERFORMANCE. Sadly, I’d believe Larry Rudolph over pretty much anyone else … so unless this is a major cover-up to try and pull off a surprise, I guess Britters really won’t be performing this year. I gotta say, I think it’s a mistake for her not to. She is in a much better position to perform this year and, as I’ve said before, she can really undo the damage she did at last year’s VMAs with one amazing performance. I think it’s a bad idea for her not to perform. The end.
