Last night I met up with my friend Tony at The Roxy on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA to see Nikka Costa in concert. After seeing her perform recently with Prince during his 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles concert residency, I was really anxious to see her perform her own concert. This week, she released a new EP titled Pro*Whoa and to celebrate, she performed an amazing concert at The Roxy last night.

Last night I attended my third Prince concert of his 21 Night Stand in Los Angeles residency at The Forum in Inglewood, CA and — as you might expect — I had the time of my life! People have been asking me which of the 3 shows (thus far) has been the best and honestly, they each were “the best”. Because the shows are different every single time, there is something very special and memorable about each show. Last night, I went to the show with Emma and Josh and we had a BLAST! The show as full of amazing guest stars … making it truly one of the most memorable shows I’ve ever attended.

Out magazine hosted its 14th Annual OUT 100 Awards at Gotham Hall in NYC last night in order to honor the mag’s People of the Year who are described as gay and straight “artists, activists, athletes, and aesthetes [who] embody triumph, daring, ingenuity, and integrity”. Here are a few of the Out 100 honorees as they strutted their stuff on the red carpet last night:

Broadway actor Cheyenne Jackson (Xanadu) was named Entertainer of the Year by the magazine for his “stereotype-breaking performances” and musician Sam Sparro was chosen as Breakout Star of the Year for being “an exciting new musician who never considered the closet as an option”. Nikka Costa, Heather Matarazzo (one of the Actors of the Year) and her partner Carolyn Murphy among others were in attendance at last night’s affair as well.
