So … you know how last year former American Idol judge Simon Cowell was all excited about his new competitive singing reality show The X Factor and he was all excited about bringing on board judges Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones to the show? Yeah, that’s over because all 3 of these people have been FIRED from the show. You may recall that British pop singer Cheryl Cole was originally meant to be a judge on X Factor but she got fired before the show made it air and was replaced with Scherzinger (who, if you consider how she got her job, shouldn’t be all that surprised that she was so easily fired, too). The only person that Simon Cowell didn’t fire is fellow male judge L.A. Reid. Read on for all the gory details of this X Factor bloodbath below.

Just days after it was officially announced that Nicole Scherzinger has replaced Cheryl Cole as a judge on the US version of The X Factor, we get to see new photos and video of the newly assembled X Factor judging panel hard at work on the show. The X Factor made its way to New Jersey this week for auditions and provided Nicole her first opportunity to sit in the judges chair next to Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Antonio L.A. Reid. Last month we learned that Fox and Freemantle Productions were seriously considering replacing British singer Cheryl Cole as judge on the US version of the singing competition show The X Factor because producers fear her too thick British accent might be too difficult for US audiences to understand. It was reported that US singer Nicole Scherzinger was being courted as her replacement. Just yesterday, we learned of a report that claimed that Cheryl might not be cut from the show after all because she would still be owned her $1.5 million dollar contract fee, even if she does not judge the show. But today, Fox and Freemantle have officially announced that Cheryl has been replaced by Nicole as a judge on The X Factor. Read the statement in full below.

Earlier this month, after all casting drama had been settled, we learned finally that Simon Cowell selected original judge Cheryl Cole (from the original UK version of The X Factor) to join music mogul LA Reid and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul to help him judge the US version of The X Factor. Singer Nicole Scherzinger had been hired to co-host the show with Brit Steve Jones. TMZ is now reporting that Cheryl is OUT as X Factor judge and has been replaced on the judging panel by Nicole. According to their sources, Cheryl‘s thick British accent is the reason she has been dropped as a judge because producers feared the US audience would not be able to understand her!

Earlier this week we learned which celebs will be competing on the upcoming 10th season of Dancing with the Stars — including the AMAZING Shannen Doherty — and today we get to see the celeb contestants’ paired up promo photos each with their professional dancing partners:

“Dancing With The Stars” has slots to fill. Every season, they try to make it seem like they’re choosing “stars” based on their immediate relevance and for variety, but every season, you’re reminded that they have a limited number of types who are cast, and the new season, announced during Monday night’s finale of “The Bachelor,” is no different. The most controversial name is Kate Gosselin. She’s there to be the polarizing one. Like Tom DeLay, Denise Richards, and Kim Kardashian before her, Kate is there strictly because some people will recoil at the sight of her. Her dancing ability is a closed book for the moment, and notoriety is unlikely to get her to the final stages of the competition, but her name recognition should keep her safe in the opening rounds. The “Dancing” raid of the “Beverly Hills, 90210” dressing rooms of the past continues with the appearance of Shannen Doherty. Doherty must surely be the Moby-Dick for producers who have spent previous seasons settling for her onetime co-stars Ian Ziering and Jennie Garth. Her reputation as a buster of chops precedes her, much as distant rumbling precedes an invasion by Godzilla, so many will tune in to see whether she can be made to tango properly or will simply bite off the head of her partner. (She will also undoubtedly hope to outlast her long-ago ex-husband Ashley Hamilton, who lasted three days on the show last season.)

OMG … Kate Gosselin vs. Shannen Doherty … only on reality TV, folks … OY! As I mentioned before, I don’t watch DWTS but now that they’ve cast Shannen for the new season, well, I’m gonna hafta watch my girl kick ass now won’t I?
