Yesterday, 26 January was Australia Day, the day Australians commemorate the anniversary of England’s First Fleet arriving at Sydney Cove in 1788 and starting the colony. It’s a bitter sweet day, because for many Aussies this is also the day that the Aboriginal population, that had been on the land for centuries, were side stepped and their land taken away. That sad note aside, this is also a day for Aussies living in the U.S. to celebrate the contribution that Australia has made to the celebrity world. I cant seem to go past a bit of news that relates to one of my fave Aussie stars… Ah, Miranda Kerr you are stunning and so successful, and I love that you’re a gal who grew up in a small country town in Australia.. and now have a child with Orlando Bloom. Guess you’re proof that dreams really do come true.

Supermodel hottie mom Miranda Kerr is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Australian Harper’s Bazaar magazine and in her accompanying photospread, she proudly bares one of her most valued assets for all to see … specifically her ass-et. Last week we saw photos of working new mom Miranda Kerr traveling with her hubby Orlando Bloom and their beautiful baby son Flynn but today we get to see a photo of just Miranda and Flynn taking a lunch break during a photoshoot this week. The lunch break was for Flynn, actually, as Miranda was the one feeding him … on set … right from her breast … as moms are wont to do.

When last we saw new papa Orlando Bloom with his newborn son Flynn, the pair were lookin’ all kinds of adorable hanging out together at a park in SoCal. Yesterday, Orlando, mama Miranda Kerr and Flynn were spotted making their way thru LAX Airport and the little nugget has grown considerably. A couple of weeks ago we learned that happily-marrieds Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom welcomed the birth of their firstborn son but since then we’ve gotten no official word from the family at all about the baby. As I understand it, Miranda and Orlando took their time naming their son so perhaps that is why we hadn’t heard any news … until now. Miranda posted the FIRST PHOTO of the couple’s newborn son on the official website for her Kora Organics skincare line. The new mom also released an official statement announcing to the world that she and Orlando named their baby boy Flynn.

According to new reports just out, congratulations are in order for happily marrieds Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom … who just welcomed the birth of their firstborn child. According to US Weekly magazine via X17, Miranda gave birth to a baby boy here in LA just moments ago!!

A week ago today we got our first look at a very pregnant and very nekkid Miranda Kerr in the pages of W magazine … today, we get to see the heavily pregs Miranda fully clothed on the cover and in the pages of Australian Vogue magazine … behold:

I understand that Miranda is the first pregnant model to grace the cover of Aussie Vogue magazine … she looks absolutely glorious, don’t she? While I think that all pregnant women are beautiful, I honestly think that being pregs actually makes Miranda even more beautiful than she already was. Miranda Kerr, who is pregs with her first child with hubby Orlando Bloom, is featured in the new Family Issue of W magazine. In her pictorial, 6-months pregs Miranda poses completely in the nude baring more than her baby bump for all the world to see:

“For me, family is life,” says model Miranda Kerr, 27. “The decision to start one wasn’t complex at all.” Kerr, whose stealth wedding to actor Orlando Bloom this past July caught even the paparazzi off guard, was in Paris shooting a Jil Sander campaign when she found out she was pregnant. “I was wondering why I’d been so sick.” Kerr and Bloom have opted not to be told their child’s sex. “We’re keeping it a surprise,” she says. Though her modeling stock has risen (she’s currently fronting campaigns for Jil Sander, Prada, and Victoria’s Secret), Kerr has no issues with putting her professional ambitions on hold. “My career has been wonderful, but it’s not my life. I don’t feel pressure to get back to work.” As for the long-term future, the Aussie native has conceived a rustic plan for domestic bliss: “My goal involves a hammock, a vegetable patch, and a solar-powered house. And I hope to eventually get there.”

Pregnant women are so beautiful, there is no question, so you gotta love that Miranda seems to have no qualms about posing in a completely natural (yet, certainly airbrushed) way for this issue of W magazine. When last we saw photos of pregs Miranda Kerr and her hubby Orlando Bloom they were in Italy for Milan Fashion Week. This weekend, the couple made their way to France for Paris Fashion Week … and for work. Miranda, who is 5 months pregs, actually walked the runway as a model for the Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2011 show … and she looked pretty fab doing so:

Having a few extra pounds on you may be cause for rejection among most models, but when you’re Miranda Kerr, it lands you a lead role in the hottest fashion show in town. The five-month pregnant Victoria’s Secret supermodel took to the catwalk with fellow glamazon and new mom Gisele Bündchen today during Paris Fashion Week to model in the Balenciaga spring/summer 2011 show … for stylish mom-to-be Miranda, it was business as usual, according to Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière, who has consistently cast the sexy star in his shows. “Victoria’s Secret are using the sexy, cute side of Miranda Kerr,” he told Australian Vogue back in April. “I wanted to show she could have a more experimental, edgy side.” And that she did! While the soon-to-be-mom held up the beginning of the show, modeling a houndstooth caplet with a tight ponytail, minimal makeup and loafers.

I love this so much. Now, we shouldn’t go expecting a rash of pregnant women to be showing up on the runways at Fashion Weeks around the globe but I love that Balenciaga decided to feature one of their fave models despite her growing pregnant belly. IMHO, Miranda Kerr only gets more beautiful the more rotund she gets so it makes perfect sense to me that any design house would want to feature that beauty in their fashion shows. I don’t expect Miranda will be working as a model for much longer, that is until she gives birth, but it is very cool to see her take a stroll down the runway as a growing mommy-to-be.
