‘Rest’ Stop

The TV Guide
Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Yesterday afternoon I made my way out to The Golden Apple comic book store on Melrose Ave. here in LA for an in-store appearance by Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia and comic artist Tim Sale for the launch of their new comic book series Rest. I was very happy to see that a few hundred folks also came out for the comic book release event. Here are a few pics from yesterday’s fun:

When I arrived, the line of folks who came out for the event stretched down the street and around the block, it was very cool. I was fortunate enough to get to hang out with Milo’s best friends Dino and Russ (some of you may know that they, along with Milo, are the founding members of the Divide Social Club) for the duration of the in-store appearance. I got to meet a few Pink readers and, after the event was finished, I also got to snap a pic with Milo himself. After the jump, check out a few more fun pics including a VERY COOL VIDEO of Milo’s arrival at yesterday’s event …

Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Still Goin’ Strong

HaLo surfaces for the first time in weeks
Monday, October 20th, 2008

It has been quite some time since we last saw couple Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia out and about in public which led some folks to believe they might have called it quits. A couple of weeks ago, Hayden surfaced with a box full of cupcakes and I wondered aloud if she might’ve been picking up the goodies to share with her man (he was nowhere in sight). It was actually back in early August that the pair were last seen together here on the blog when they were snapped filming scenes for the new season of their hit NBC show Heroes here in SoCal. But finally, HaLo has surfaced once again … and altho there ain’t all that much amorousness goin’ on in these new pics of the couple snapped in Hollywood, CA this weekend, the fact that they are out together looks pretty good to me:

I am happy to see that HaLo are still happily attached … I, too, was starting to get worried that there may have been something amiss in their romance. You may recall that the couple were spotted all over town together back when they were keeping their relationship a secret … then the sightings tapered off and stopped completely after they came clean about the romanticness of their involvement earlier this year. In any event, I’m glad to see these two out and about in public again. With all the break-ups going on in Hollywood these days, I’m not sure my frail heart could take another case of dunzoness.

Milo Ventimiglia Does ‘Corduroy’ Magazine

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Milo Ventimiglia is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Corduroy magazine … here are a few pics and a few quotes from his coverstory:

He’s known for playing bad boys and tortured souls, but in a new interview with Corduroy Magazine, Milo Ventimiglia reveals a surprisingly different side of himself. Whether admitting that his sisters dressed him up as Madonna when he was young (circa “Lucky Star”/faux-beauty mark phase) or talking about his long-held desire to be a doctor, the 31-year-old gets candid in his most revealing interview to date. “I had a completely normal upbringing,” he says, “which I’m very happy about. It’s a nice example that you don’t have to be a fuck-up, you don’t have to come from a broken family, or be high on drugs, or have lived on the streets to be able to succeed in the industry. When I was younger, my peers would always talk about the hard times and the down times, and how that helped them to get to that better place as an actor. It’s like, no man, that put you in rehab.” On being a celebrity: “I don’t even think my personal life is that exciting,” he says. “I don’t understand why somebody would want to see pictures of me dropping off my dry cleaning. It’s like, seriously? Someone got paid to sit in front of my house and watch me move my trashcans? I don’t get it, but it is what it is.”

Um, hello. If Milo owned a mirror then he would totes understand why people are not only interested it in his life but also like seeing pictures of him dropping off his dry cleaning … preferably nekkid ;) I just love how down-to-earth Milo is. He’s a dope guy, I’m looking forward to weekly visits from the gent once Heroes starts up again in a few weeks.

HaLo Get Down To Biz

More 'Heroes' filming underway
Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Here are a few new pics of Heroes hotties Milo Ventimiglia and Hayden Panettiere on the SoCal set of their hit TV series shooting new scenes for the upcoming third season. Milo is lookin’ bloody and broody and Hayden is lookin’ supercute, check ‘em out:

It didn’t take long for Milo to return from his USO Tour of duty in the Middle East (where he visited with some of our brave troops overseas) and get right back to work. As much as I’m thoroughly enjoying the summer, I am anxious for the new Fall TV season to get underway … seeing new pics of my fave shows being filmed gets me antsy to watch new eps.

Milo Ventimiglia Meets Real Life Heroes

Celebrates his birthday in the Middle East
Friday, August 1st, 2008

Here are a few pics of Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia that were taken on his recent trip to the Middle East for the USO Tour to visit and entertain our troops who are serving overseas. Milo was in town for his birthday and shared the occasion with some of the troops he visited … check it out:

“Iron Man” isn’t the only superhero to visit the Middle East this summer. Milo Ventimiglia, who plays power-absorbing Peter Petrelli on NBC’s “Heroes,” traveled to the region last week as part of a USO tour of U.S. bases in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. He met many soldiers who were familiar with his show, and had strong opinions about his character’s nemesis, Sylar (played diabolically by Zachary Quinto). “When I was over in Iraq and Afghanistan, a lot of soldiers were like, ‘Dude, will you just kill Sylar already? Will you just get rid of him?’” Ventimiglia told The Associated Press during a telephone interview this week. “And I’m like, ‘Man, I don’t know if you’re gonna want that just yet. I think you’re going to be very surprised as to what happens’” … The 31-year-old actor said returning to Los Angeles — and to work on “Heroes” — feels surreal after his weeklong USO tour. His travel compantions included NFL players Drew Brees, Osi Umenyiora and two Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Blinded by the football star power, some soldiers would “look at me like I was an AP photographer because I was carrying around this gigantic camera with me all the time,” joked Ventimiglia, who snapped a “bunch of great shots” during his trip.

Aww … Milo is the best. I’m sure he did a great job cheering up our soldiers who are actively serving in Iraq right now. I’m not surprised that he would decide to join the USO Tour to support our troops … he is a real Hero, I think.

So Dork The ‘Con’ Of Man

San Diego Comic Con is a wrap
Monday, July 28th, 2008

And so … another San Diego Comic Con has come to pass … and as usual, I was out of the country and unable to attend — but there are a lot of fun pictures to check out that will kinda sorta make it feel like I’m part of the experience but, you know, without having to actually endure all the ridiculous costumery in person ;) Here are a few pics of some of the more zealous Comic Con attendees this year:

And here are a few pics of some of the principal stars of the NBC hit Heroes who attended the Con this year to promote the upcoming third season of the show:

Honestly, there are just too many things that were presented at this year’s Con that I can’t possibly post them all … but Entertainment Weekly was in the hiz taking photos of some of my fave sci-fi/comic booky things at this year’s convention to give a nice overview. After the jump, check out a few EW photos of some of my fave things that I would’ve checked out had I attended this year’s Comic Con
